Just an update for anyone who cares to know: My brother has done his second round of out patient chemo and is rapidly losing his hair. He has to go back into the hospital for about 4 or 5 days each session so he tells me what food he wants so I make up a care package and bring it to him at the hospital because the food there is pretty nasty. I am doing everything I can to help him because if he dies I want to know I did everything I could to help.

Sadly, I am terminally ill. My little brother lived 7 hours from me. They wanted to put me in hospice back in August. My doctors have up on me and I had given up as well. Eric said he wasn't going to give up on me even though he had his own busy life to live because he is a nurse practioner? He brought me to Amarillo and he doctored me and found help for those in my condition. He could have taken the path of least resistance but he didn't and I am still here for now. He improved my quality of what time I have left. I asked why he did it. He said "Because you're my brother and I love you". I played this song for him and we both had a good, healthy cry.

Having grown up in Father's Flanagan's Boys Town in the 1960s I walked past the statue dedicated to the story from which this comes from. There was a small boy who could not walk well and another boy picked him up on his back and carried him around even through the Nebraska snow. Father Flanagan ask him if he was weary from the burden and the responded, "He's not heavy Father he's my brother ". I think this group honored the story well with there music.

It's one of the most fabulous songs ever written and rendered!! The exquisite vocals rank with any ever performed by any artist. No song has a deeper, more desperately needed message than "He ain't heavy, he's my brother." It's moral and humane expression of caring for our fellow man has never been surpassed. The Hollies hold a unique place in musical history for this timeless gem of a song.

Jesus said to her " Your brother will rise again " Jesus further said to her " I am the resurrection and the Life " He who believes in me will live , even though he dies " In all the literature of the world no other person has made such a statement and that is the final and sure hope for the Human Race. This song hits home especially for us who had friends and family who were in the Vietnam war. Just young boys on the cusp of becoming men. Some of my friends came home, some not. If we could love one another as we were created in love, what a beautiful world this would be.Im 70 now, a widow of a retired disabled veteran. I've read so many comments and my heart brakes for all of you. We all have a story to tell. Jesus said we are passers-by, we will be with the ones who have returned home. We are in this world but not of this world.I pray for everyone to find peace and love in their hearts.

This song always takes me to my brother. We did not have a great start in life, but we always had each other. We were so close to being torn apart in 1968, but through the grace of God our Mom prevailed and we were reunited in 1970. This is a very emotional song for both of us even to this day.

He is really weighed on me.., took me awhile to understand : no matter how cruel he was and he is to me, he is still my brother.. and the best gift God gave to me through him - is : i can experience and finally understand what does it mean of TRUE FORGIVENESS.. He aint heavy, he is n will be always my brother.. i let your approval go brother.. ❤❤❤

Allan Clarke of The Hollies is one of the iconic voices of 1960's pop music, especially when he was harmonizing with Graham Nash. The Hollies had some of the best rock musicians of the era in the line-up, including the ones you see in this video. Unfortunately, they are lip-syncing here. Their live performances are equally awesome.

I lost my sister and 3 months later my brother, things got pretty bad and every little thing came with so much drama so about 15 years ago I decided life was to short to waste it on fight, gossip and anger so I cut off contact with all but 2 sisters. There are 6 sisters, 2 brothers and over 100 grandchildren and great grandchildren but I had to do it for my husband of 46 years, 4 children and 4 grandchildren, I didn't like who I was back then always crying and depressed so my daddy RIP told me he loved me and wanted me to be happy, to do that I had to let go but not in anger or hate but with love. Today I love my life drama free and so much more happiness and love with my little family. I hope people realize that you don't have to put up with ugliness in your life and it's not wrong to let go of negativity in your life and be at peace with your decision but most importantly let go with love. Don't get me wrong when I see a family member I say hi and maybe a small conversation but that's it.I love them but I also don't have to have all the negative that comes with them either.

In March this year my dad got very ill with him having to go through medical tests for dementia and when he was released from the hospital he put the TV on and watching the music on TV and he ain't heavy he's my brother came on so I went home and rewrote the lyrics slightly. The road is long With many a winding turn That leads us to who knows where, who knows where But I'm strong Strong enough to carry him He ain't heavy, he's my father … So on we go His welfare is of my concern No burden is he to bear We'll get there … For I know He would not encumber me He ain't heavy, he's my father … If I'm laden at all I'm laden with sadness That everyone's heart Isn't filled with the gladness Of love for one another … It's a long, long road From which there is no return While we're on the way to there Why not share? … And the load Doesn't weigh me down at all He ain't heavy, he's my father … He's my father He ain't heavy, he's my father He ain't heavy, he's my father
