Don't worry about Brexit. We're still here. Weird as ever. Don't forget 1940 when we left some of our soldiers in France, so that we could evacuate 120,000 French from Dunkirk alone. Your Government demanded their return (only 7,000 agreed to stay in England and form a Free French Army under de Gaulle). We duly returned them - many of whom went into captivity. You were let down by your politicians. Some things don't change do they?

Hi . Musicians of the REPUBLICAN FRENCH GUARD are playing music.. but there are also MOUNTED REPUBLICAN GUARDS too in that same French squadron . So WE Can suppose That BOTH GUARDS (French and British ) are good ''at mounting'' their horses ...LoL. Furthermore there might be a small confusion with our FRENCH expression ''monter la garde = litterally ''mounting the guard'' 🙄. Lol LOL , BUT more correct to say ''to stand guard '' before BUCKINGHAM PALACE for example .. 👏

Income tax was introduced in 1799 to fund England's war against the French. I am now paying a greater proportion of my income in tax and yet no war!

Good point. No taxation without conflagration.

I agree, let’s pay vastly lower taxes as in 1799 and then we will have no NHS, paved roads, public education, police etc. What an intelligent suggestion.

The Entente Cordiale has nothing do with the EEC or with Europe. It's only between France and Britain and it's on another level ! The two nations decided to live in peace, to become allied and friends ❤ after centuries of wars.

@gordonsmith8899 King ? I only have one King. That being the Lord Jesus Christ who reigns in Glory and Majesty in Heaven. I don't acknowledge an atheist tree hugger that swans around Davos with the rest of the nation destroying satanists.

Great. The guards educating the French on the correct way to march and drill. Pity they won't see the King's Colour Squadron, RAF.

One of the earliest allusions to martial music appeared in a dance treatise by Thoinot Arbeau (1588). In 17th-century France, the military band of Louis XIV played marches, and France literally set the pace for march music all over Europe well into the 19th century.
