I’m an Indian who is fairly conversationally fluent in Mandarin. Just over the last few months, I kept practising everyday in Chicago’s Chinatown (my university is in Chicago) with native Chinese speakers at restaurants, and they’re all always so surprised and cheerful about it. Just by speaking a bit of Chinese, I managed to make over 300 Chinese friends in a few months both online and offline! Chinese people are always super helpful and kind when they see you trying to speak their language, even if it is only basic. Thanks for showing these videos about China, I hope to actually visit China someday and meet everyone too. I’m wondering: should I post the videos I’ve recorded of my interactions in Chinatown?
