Dynamite was BTS first fully English song and only happened because the pandemic cancelled their tour plans so they wanted a song to cheer people up all over the world. The song literally blew up. It was BTS first number 1 song on the billboard hot 100, earned BTS their first Grammy nomination, and broke the record for the most viewed video on youtube in 24 hours with 101.1 million views (their 2nd fully English song Butter broke that record with 108.2 million views). Also keep in mind Dynamite is one of the few songs by BTS that they didn't write.

Thank you for checking them out..this song was released at the onset of the pandemic to cheer us up. BTS has a wide range of genres so you might be surprised if a member who goes solo would show a dark side of himself in his song. Most often their songs are uplifting. If you haven't tried checking out theirs rap songs I suggest you check out their cyphers 1-4 or see their BTS room live where they sang a medley of their B-side tracks 😊.

By the way, while I love their three English language songs (Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance), you don't really get the real feel of BTS unless you look at the stuff they wrote (which they didn't with the English only songs). So many fantastic songs. You can listen to the Album Proof which has all their singles and a smattering of other songs, but their B-side songs are so amazing that even that is the tip of the iceberg. They're brilliant, magic even. I stumbled on them two years ago with Butter and I have yet to come up for air. The astound me as artists, as performers, and as people.

Thanks for reacting to BTS ! I think they will surprise you on many levels as this is probably the most "typical" song they've released (they just wanted to share good vibes during covid and make people smile). So yeah Dynamite is good but it's about 5% of what they can do as a group. :) BTS are HUGE, and I mean MJ or The Beatles type of "huge" and rightfully so. They've won around 800 awards worldwide. Including 12 billboard music awards and above 70 "Daesangs" (which is a grand prize / highest award one can receive). They've been setting worldwide records and broke them themselves again and again... A true phenomenon born from HARD work and genuineness. I'm probably not qualified enough to write a proper introduction on who these gentlemen are but basically BTS is a South-Korean group that has, no lie, the widest range of music any artist have and hundreds of songs. That means, no matter what your genre is, you'll find songs you like and some you might enjoy less. Anyways, as much as medias like to put groups in a box, BTS is no typical "boyband" and even in the Kpop industry, they're totally different. BTS are pionniers in some way and have a totally different story. But most of all, they've been working very hard for a decade, literally starting from scratch in a company that was on the verge on bankruptcy only to have made this company one of the biggest economic sources in South Korea nowadays. They literally are the one who paved the way for Kpop artist out of Korea. To make it short, there are 3 rappers and 4 singers. Before debuting, two of them were underground rappers and another two of them were dancers. And on top of being amazing rappers, singers and dancers ; BTS members write, produce, take part in the artistic concepts, music videos, dance choreographies, ideas... Everything basically, in collaboration with their company staff and artists. They're really on a lane of their own and I think you'll see that for yourself when you react to more. Plus, they have one of the strongest bond with their fans (called the BTS Army) and they just reciprocate all the love they receive from us and even more. That being said, I hope you react to more and don’t stop at first impressions. You’ll be missing out ! :D Also, I think you should definitely react to the different fan-made guides about BTS. They'll put you on many informations about the group, the members, how they work and everything basically. Because above learning about their group history, these guides make you understand their music a lot more in some way. That was my case when I first became a fan (and I'm sure I'm not the only one). I guess learning about the background of each member, their background as a group and the way they work for their craft, makes you understand the music (and the artistry) in a much more complete way. I love Dynamite. It achieved what BTS wanted when pandemic hit and everyone was depresed and tired of it all. Put my smile on my face everytime. BTS didnt wrote it thought they tried to give korean lyrics but they said it felt off so they kept eng lyrics. Im pretty sure this song as much as was for us it was for them too after all plans they had was canceled. Like tour that was supposed to be bye for now before enlistment. They had just fun making video and all those different performances.

So, to help with recognition. First singer is Jungkook, aka JK, Jeon Jungkook, one of the main vocalists and dancer. He's the youngest. Second to sing (with the blue hair) is RM which once stood for Rap Monster but is now Real Me, aka Kim Namjoon who is the first member of the group and the leader. He has three solo albums. The next to come in was J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) who I think you've seen before. He's one of the main dancers, raps and also sings. By the way, all the group members have song credits but RM, J-Hope and Suga have far and away the most. RM is known for some great lyrics and Suga, who also has some amazing lyrics, is a prolific producer, not just for BTS but other artists as well. Then there's a brief bit with with Jungkook again before we move to Jimin (Park Jimin) who you saw before. Jimin is also an amazing dancer and vocalist. But I think you picked up on that already. Then it moves to V (Kim Tae-hyung) the only baritone, excellent dancer and vocalist. He's also acted in a Korean Drama and really knows how to play to an audience and the camera. Been "selected" as the handsomest man in the world in some listing more than once. Then back to RM before moving to Suga aka Agust-D (Min Yoongi) who is also a rapper and damn fine dancer. He also has three solo albums. They're all good at dancing when it comes down to it. The one who comes in at 6:36 is Jin (Kim Seokjin), vocalist and visual, originally scouted for his looks but he's really come into his own with his performances. He's the oldest. On an aside, all seven members will be doing their mandatory military service soon and they plan to come back together in 2025. Jin and J-Hope have already enlisted. Jin did a solo song (The Astronaut) before he went in and J-Hope did a solo album (J-Hope in the Box), his second solo album I think. Jimin just did his solo album and Suga, who just released D-Day, his third solo album, is currently on tour. V and JK are hopefully doing solo albums soon.

Excellent review. Dynamite is a good song. It was because of Covid. They have a huge huge discography. What do you like. There is Magic Shop, Fake love, mic drop the live version from mama 2016 I think, there is Fire, Blood Sweat and Tears, anything you pick you won’t go wrong. You like rap, there is Ugh, Ddang, a good place to start is Festa Room 2021 you get snippets of about 9 songs.

Definitely bits of homage to MJ. They did a live performance of this song with an MJ tribute dance break at MAMA2020. Aside from MJ influence, the rap line wrote a song about their roots and who influenced them. Check out Hip Hip Phile. No music video but there are live performances and lyric video. I think you would appreciate that. And the Cyphers.

It's one of few of their songs that those not have deep meaning. It's just fun song so don't pay too much attention to the lyrics. Their live performance of this song on MMA 2020 is just iconic you should check this out

You haven't yet got into BTS's choreography and their live performances. you gotta watch their music videos and then their live performances. They are real sick. There's a storyline in BTS mvs starting from wings album. A TOTAL BOP. Then you should move ahead to next albums. There’s no wrong song to start with but it is one of only 3 all English songs(Which are more pop). This song definitely doesn’t give you a sense of what the rest of their discography sounds like other than they are talented and it’s a great catchy song. The only thing wrong to do in the beginning is to make assumptions on what all their music sounds like. They have such a vast discography which include various genres. They are so creative musically. They are talented singers, rappers, lyricist and producers and dancers. The members are…Suga, V, Jungkook, RM, Jin Jimin and J hope from left to right on the pic you had up at the end. I hope to see more BTS as a group and more of their solos soon from you all. Thank you!

There is Dimple, O:00, House of Cards, Truth Untold all perfect and my favs. As BTS tho Blood Sweat and Tears, Black Swan, Run, I Need you, Boy in Love,, Boy with Love feat. HALSEY, Blue and Grey are some tamer songs.. Fake Love, Idol, Fire, Dope, Mic Drop, ON are more Harder songs. There is so so so so many more. I think these are the most popular ones as well. I found you guys when reacting to Suga Amydgala and I'm 46 yr old ARMY. They even wrote songs for their fans. 2,3, magic shop, They also do songs in Japanese that take your breathe away. Like You Eyes Tell, Crystal Snow, Film out and so much more. There are so many more there Genre is so large. They can do anything. And there solos Christ. Please check them out as well. JHOPE RM JIMIN AND SUGA all released new albums so far check them out but check out their solo from the past the are so so good. People have bias I'm Mostly OT7 I love the all so much they all are unique and bring something different but Suga I relate to more so his is my Bias. His music just hits hard. Nobody and I mean nobody will top them and I don't mean music or dancing I'm sure someone will but the overall of what BTS is and what they stood and stand for nobody has done nor will accomplish. Butter is another popular Grammy nominated song, all English. But I hope you dive into their true self, their other music prior to those English songs. They are great lyrics, they write and sing their experiences, feelings, struggles, their answer to all the haters… they are usually deep in their art. Their English songs were really just for fun, for the western audience, for getting through pandemic.

I recommend watching Mic Drop to get a better feel for their music. Their English songs are a little lighter in music style and lyrics than their other music. Some of my other favorites are Dionysus, Jump, Spine Breaker, Airplane pt 2, Run BTS, amongst others. One thing to note, if something is a pt 2, there is a pt 1, but it's not necessary to watch it in order. The pt 1 for Jimin's "Set Me Free, pt 2" is a solo song from Suga (Agust D- which is "DT Suga" backwards. I think the DT refers to his hometown? Not sure ...). The pt 1 for Airplane is a solo song from J-Hope. I like it well enough, but I like pt 2 better. The only other pt 2 that I can recall is "We are Bulletproof, pt 2" (also a good song). Pt 1 is out there, but it's a lot more obscure. It's another one where I prefer pt 2. There's a third to that grouping called "We are Bulletproof: the Eternal". It took me a bit longer to like that one because I didn't know it's purpose (briefly- it's a thank you to ARMY), but it's also a favorite now. If I went into detail on the song's meaning, well, this post is too long already! Just wanted to say Thanks for listening to the boys. 😊
