I know for a fact that virtually ALL car dealerships for ALL makes including Marshalls regularly have people filming in them as the manufacturers pay third parties to audit them in the form of mystery shoppers. I can also name several of the companies that employ people to carry out these audits. I've never heard such B.S. 😂

Out of all my years living within the Thames Valley area I can honestly say I’ve only ever met one polite and respectful on duty copper. The rest have been rude or trying to force bs charges when I was a youngster in the 90’s. …. And they wonder why there is such a disconnect with the public.

Law enforcement officers are Officers who are employed for the purpose of "enforcing the law" (hence the title!), and are not required, or even authorized, to enforce private policies!

Use the opportunity to promote your business... simple. The Police will always support businesses over the public even if they are in the wrong.

Why do you auditors allow police to get away with violating their filming policy and GDPR, here's what I would do. I would not ask the officer if they were filming, I would wait til the police interaction is over, go to their police station give the officers numbers and ask if the interaction with the officers was filmed. Once I was told it was filmed I would then make a complaint against the officer for violating policy and GDPR for not telling me. That complaint would have to be upheld, and the officer would be disciplined.
