Yeah she's a deadbeat living on the generosity of the tax payer who wants to play the system and continue to not work while getting the tax payer to foot the bill for her education. I worked full time and went to school full time so she can too. She's a bum and doesn't seem to care about supporting her children.

Braces are like 3500 per kid. So yes I would go to court for half of that. She had the children by herself for years. I hope they take that into account. PLUS......I told my ex-husband that if he went after me for child support.....then I would kill him. I worked full time for 40 years. He has maybe 20 years of work under his belt. He was a Trust Fund baby. Just lurking around for his Mama to die. He inherited millions of dollars. He and our daughter are set for life.

Family Court is definitely JJ’s lane. She an expert on these kind of cases.

They said she never paid consistently. When she agreed to pay 1/2 they should've said okay pay us X amount every month. That way she has a payment schedule, with a job or jobless. Unemployment pays her money. She can also work in a field that pays her cash, like cleaning houses etc.

She worked in a grocery store ffs. He worked in the refineries, which I'm assuming were the oil refineries and they make much more money than people working in a grocery store. But the moment she falls on hard times, instead of being understanding and willing to work with her they drag her to court? Nah. They have 3 incomes in their home, she has 0. It's not right.

Your right he does have better income but he also has more expenses . I don't think it's unfair of them to expect her to financially support her kids . And going to court is the best way to handle these things . His wife has no responsibility to support his kids financially and the child support she's getting is to for her own kids . Also they don't want the ex wife to pay for them so they're irrelevant . Yeah 17 year old does work but I don't think he had that much of income. And his parents still need to provide food and shelter and medical services for him . It's not OK for them to expect him to pay for his basic needs . She's gonna get unemployment and a company is going to pay for her to go to school . And since she's going to rent a room then I can imagine that she has the means to help support her kids . Like if it was the mother who was asking for child support and they has this exact situation then would you still think that they're unfair to expect him to pay child support ?

I think it was ONLY because she works & likely provides most of the support to all three children. She is the legal step parent. Most of the time, actually 99% of the time, she'd tell them to either hush or leave.

I think braces would fall under medical care which she is under legal obligation to provide.

Only then can they determine if she's obligated to pay for anything, but they haven't even gone yet at this point. But they can still sue and make a case for that. Whether they win is a different matter. In this case, she made a small payment, so she acknowledged that she had to pay her portion of something, regardless of what it was.

She has an obligation to her child. It’s her child as well. It’s fair to split the cost of such a major cost such as braces.

Of course it's her duty as a mother, but if she doesn't do her duty, only legally can someone actually obligate her to support her children. That's why courts exist. And you also have to take into account that forcing someone to pay *large* amounts when they have nothing is also really unreasonable. She started earning unemployment, so like Judge Judy said, they'll have to take the money from that, since she's the one who participated in creating those kids.

They all are raising those children. The children respect and listen to them all as they are suppose to and it because the parents respect each other. My sister knows when her kids are with their dad and his wife his wife is also instrumental in what happens with them and when and her ex husband knows that when my kids are with their mom and her husband he is instrumental in how my kids are being raised. The oldest son lived with the plaintiff's mother during the years he was in prison and with the plaintiff since he got out. She hadn't had custody of him since 2004. She probably didn't go for child support because she would have had to send money to the grandma.

The wife has been there for at least 8 years. They have a 7 year old together. The agreement was that neither pay child support when each had one son. When both began living with their father, the agreement was that she pays half of certain expenses. She had promised to pay half of the braces, has paid 0.

She only had one kid with her. The other was living with the plaintiff's mother. There was probably an agreement that there was no child support for either, like after he got out and had the oldest. That way dhe wasn't having to send money to the grandma for her son.
