The Jordan Harbinger Show

5 жыл бұрын

The Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan lives on a beautiful ranch in Santa Clarita, California surrounded by an array of animal life that would make Doctor Dolittle jealous. So when we got the invitation to interview him in this idyllic wonderland, of course, we jumped at the opportunity.
In this episode, we explore Cesar's journey from one of the most dangerous parts of Mexico to being homeless on the streets of L.A. to worldwide fame as the man we've come to see as having damned-near supernatural powers when it comes to training dogs and, of course, their human companions.
Full show notes and worksheet for this episode here:

What We Discuss with Cesar Millan:
🐺 How Cesar Millan went from impoverished Sinaloan kid to homeless immigrant to world-famous Dog Whisperer.
🐺 What we can learn about communicating with dogs by understanding the priority of their senses compared to our own.
🐺 Why the key to correcting an “untrainable” dog is usually reprogramming the human in charge.
🐺 Why the rich, famous, and powerful often find animal companionship so much more grounding than time with even their closest human friends.
🐺 Why human beings are the only species on the planet that will follow an unstable leader who does not represent the greater good.
🐺 And much more…

The full episodios aee not even enough for some ppl to truly understand not just Cesar's subtleties, but also to pick up on the dogs body language to learn how to pick up on signs and nip it in the bud b4 it could escalate. Alot of my instincts follow into Caesar's train of thought. I admire him as a dog behaviorist as well as a world class trainer.

There are born in America citizens that never have the welcome package of immigrants and / or illegal immigrants. Plus, ya'll stuck together to help other. Your demographic can not accurately judge someone from an extremely different demographic. There are a lot of corrupt things that go on in hidden places for certain demographics of the locals. Caesar can not judge something he has no experience in nor can anyone else.

No offense, but you DO know that's what "dog trainers" do, right? We train people to train their dogs. Admittedly, he DOES set the standard for many of us, but TYPICAL "dog trainers" actually teach the dog parent to train the dog.
@alvaroakatico9188
@alvaroakatico9188 2 жыл бұрын
moniquemonicat ~ Actually Cesar doesn’t train dogs, he sees all dogs the same except some dogs are more sensitive than others and this is where in a “pack” you have leaders and followers, there’s no in between. I used parentheses in the word pack because in the wild sometimes you have chaos instead of packs where there’s no clear indication of a structured chain of command if you will. Cesar train us to be more responsible owners with our pets, or in this case our dogs. Jody above me is 100% correct. With me instead of training my dogs I like to use a different word; guide. Also influence comes to mind, but that’s just me.

@@mimithemermaid3860 I'm just tired of seeing people be childish and calling all dogs, a puppy. To me this shows a lack of maturity, due to personal experiences with ex girlfriends that had a VERY childish attitude and wondered why my male dog had not respect for them, and threatened to bite on multiple occasions. Can't always blame a dog for defending itself against stupid people. One girlfriend would go up to my 45kilo Pitbull cross, then scream in his ear, then wondered why he bit her lip. Funny thing is, over time she had a dog, cat, guinea pig and another dog, with every single one going neurotic and unstable, with a nervous disposition. Every pet she had, went the same.

I so identify with Caesar!!! As a young girl living in a smaOPll row house with my parents, a brother six years older, and a batchelor uncle, we had no room for a dog... by about 7 years old I was walking many of my neighbor's dogs. Owners and others were shocked at how good their dog behaved while with me and as I showed them one or two hints, at home too! Almost 74 yrs old now I have worked with thousands and thousands of dogs in so many ways-- rehabilitation of dogs facing a looming "end, dangerous dogs, dogs needing a purpose, and dogs totally misunderstood or mishandled! I realised quite young thas t there are no real "problem dogs," but there are many "problem people"!!! Actually, I have had the privilege to work with many rivh and famous people from the "mainline" area of Philadelphia, and many wonderful down-to-earth of farmers needing a gooil d working dog on farms in far upstate NY! I worked with junkyard dogs, police service dogs, assistance dogs, general obedience, scent work, specialized needs and my personal favorite, working HERDING DOGS!!! Like Ceasar, I started realizing I had a "gift" while grooming a "ungroomable" dog for free for the mother of a friend! A patient dog who allowed me to learn over several hours of working, resting, walking, and making a solid matted dog look like a show dog--like Ceasar I'm a perfectionist!!! My faith in and my relationship with God is my foundation of understanding how to work with dogs and their humans! I always appreciated Caesar, I especially appreciated seeing and enjoying this interview, and thank Caesar for all of this in-depth insight.

Just got a hundred times more respect for Cesar after this. Damn... that was a hell of a ride he's been on, guess it goes without saying the world is glad he didn't succeed at taking his life, he's keeping up the international average of human decency by a lot. Wish he had more publicity like this so hopefully, it reaches enough people to inspire a few more to take on this type of character.

Such a useful and informative long-form interview with a multi-layered soul. He reminds me SO MUCH of my own father: Mexican immigrant; knocked down a few times in life only to rebound in greater, more echoing ways. My dad is amazing with dogs, too, because he grew up on dusty streets alongside feral packs and understood the intersection of instinct and body language from a young age. Thank you for the deeper dive into this man’s life.
