I used to have a call center job that gave me major anxiety and depression because I hated it so much. I would cry on my way to work and on my lunch breaks. Ariel Johnson You should! I’ve been going to school full time and I use my leftover school money to pay my bills. I have a 6 year old daughter also. Idk what part of the country you live in but because cost of living where I live isn’t too high I’m able to pay my bills with that money. If you do, just make sure you choose a major that you can make some good money in to pay off student loans. I chose Information Technology. Try to get some scholarships too. Good luck and stay strong! I know how awful it is to dread going to work everyday.

I’m moving back to my parents for a couple of weeks until I can get me another job again. But for now, I just want to look after my mental and physical health. I have to get out while I’m still young and capable of doing more than just being stuck in a environment that drains me. At this point, I’m not afraid to start over again. Joselyn548 I would advised to hold on for now because convid has made it extra difficult to find a job but that doesn’t mean there are no job out there. There’s tons of jobs everyday all you need to do is send your cv to every job you have experience with and ask for full time. While you are still working at your current. But don’t leave without a plan or no saving if you are the bread winner in the fam or have kids I suggest to find a new job before leaving. But for me, I have no kids and I was happy to give up my own flat just so I can start over again and I wasn’t bother by money. I just wanted to leave the toxic environment for the sake of my health. So different situations different way of dealing with. But you still cannot work in a place you’re not happy in, it will take its toll on you one day if you’re super unhappy everyday 🙁. I hope you’re ok.

Why it was hell? The people. The bullying. The constant jabs at my already self confidence. Gaslighting. Drama, constant attention seeking drama. My manager said I was doing a fantastic job yet this co-worker kept micromanaging me. I had to tell him to knock it off. Then his friends in the department next to us start giving me jabs at work to rile me up. I quit, I had enough. That was 6 years ago. It was my first job and put a bad taste in my month. I didn't want to return to work since, but financially my back is up against the wall so I'm finally diving back into the workplace to give it a second shot. Wish me luck!

@G.O.A.T The situation I'm in is I hate the job I'm in and I don't want to do it. But the problem is I don't want another job either. If you could tell me I could pick whatever job I wanted and the pay would be $1 million a year whether it's as a CEO or retail worker or anything in between or I can have $100,000 a year for doing nothing, I"d take the doing nothing all day long. I don't want to work. The situation I've tried to resolve this with is through FIRE, just saving up enough money to never work again. I've been saving decently for most of the past decade and got maybe another half of a decade to another full decade to go but it feels like I'm at the foot of Mount Everest. It feels like even if it might only be 5 years from now it might as well be 50 years from now. I go to work in tears as well... working for less money is not an option.

God sent this to me today. Money is nothing if your not happy. I left a job i really loved to go make 4 $ more at a job that isn't necessarily bad but the work environment is so toxic. I cry everyday on the way to work in the bathroom, on the way to and from work. Corporate bullies , not uplifting , managers say they are supportive structured and kind just to fill the position then act another and step on your back. I learned that recently. I go to a job every day that makes me absolutely miserable. I deal with horrible customers that lead me to want to shoot my self every single day. I’m very skilled in what I do but find myself having to put more effort into not being an asshole to my rude customers than I do just to be nice to them. I work as a service manager in an automotive shop. I’ve started to hate the general population as a whole because of the raw stupidity I deal with from them daily

A job should not be the reason of why a person stopped being happy. Take a desicion, do it for your happines, for your future and most important, for your Health.

I have the exact same issue as her. I litrally count down the hours I have before work, the next day. I left one toxic job, for an even more toxic job. Co-workers are ALWAYS soo angry all the time. I have NEVER been snapped at as much as I have now. I even dream of work, almost nightly. I feel soo trapped. I dont have skills. Im trying to find me. I have no dreams.

Feeling same friend , you are not alone in this world with same situation and troubles. Many are leaving life with this hazardous situation. There is no way , what should we do!. My life , mind , thought process , confidance , freedom , behaviour , beliefs and ultimately my soul collapsed after starting my first ever job. Previously I have done many work and small businesses but I choosen stable work and I got trapped , now I couldn't leave because of family pressure. I don't know why I'm giving such excruciating pain to my self. I also facing many disease and health problems. Mental issues , brain pain and frequent headache. Continuous seating and working without second thought making my every day miserable. I was very feeling ful person who can feel every micro emotion and live happily , I was smiling and cheerful person But now I can't even get feeling of joy and happiness. this is going miserable like hell😩. Still I'm leaving , I don't have any way to get out of this , I'm feeling my life is going to destroy and I am watching it with pain , life has become "pain". Still with some breath of happiness I could feel I'm living with hope that someday everything would be okay.

I hate my job...and I feel stuck because the pay is good and I need it. But after 6 months at this job, I have gained 30 pounds, I am stressed out all the time. I am on call 24/7...my phone rings on the weekend, nights, holidays....it is salary so there is never really any being completely "off." I have NO joy in my life any more. I dread going to work every day and don't know how much longer I will be able to keep this up withought just walking out...but if I do that, I can't pay the bills. I feel trapped and there is no way out. If I take a lower paying job, that would put us in hardship....there is no way out that I can see.

I quit my corporate job because I didn’t feel that the work was rewarding... it was all about the profits and I wanted to do more to help people in need. So I went back to school and started a new career. I was very excited about my new life and career in healthcare. However, much to much shock and disappointment, I found the meanest, most materialistic people in this new profession. They bully each other and the patients... it IS horrible. It’s nothing about helping. I look back and see how much my previous employer cared about corporate social responsibility: we built several houses with habitat for humanity, we constantly raised money for shelters and various charities, we did street missions-the list is endless . In my current “new” career while I work with vulnerable sick people- I have the worst working conditions possible. I cry every day on my way to work, at work and on my way home. The ongoing abuse from staff and patients is soul-crushing. The hospital could care less about the well-being of staff. And with Covid it is 20 times worse

I was in production support for two years, and it was very stressful time. Then one day I decided to quit, and my company put me in dev. However, those two years in support completely destroyed my life, and I don't think I ever gonna enjoy my life like I used to. So my advice is don't drag yourself to a stressful job bcz it's gonna put a permanent damage to your mental health.

Yep. I worked in a cubicle in corporate, and I question what's the purpose of life. Is this it? We work so hard in school, studying day and night, and once that's done with we work a job that is repetitive and monotonous till we retire. How can you feel excited about that? I was suicidal somedays and there were days I couldn't get up for work. When I was younger I felt being an adult was going to be fun, but reality hit me like a ton of bricks after university. Life is not easy, you have to keep working and improving yourself or at least maintain a sense of balance if you are stressed out and crying for help. Make sure you do physical exercises, be alone and reflect about how blessed you are in life, and do activities you like on the side. Or else you'll go crazy if you only obsess about how much you hate your job.
