I think that leather would put up a decent resistance to the pressure washer. I still wouldn’t trust it enough to test it on myself, but if I had to pick something to protect myself I’d probably use a leather jacket.

Depends, an average leather jacket is actually made from thin leather for comfort and wouldn't fare much better than the untreated pigskin, even a biker jacket isn't made to withstand the erosion (think of how fast the bike would have to be going in order for road grit and dust to equal the speed of a powerwasher); a welders leather jacket would be thick enough though, especially if covered with a rubberized raincoat too, though they would be rather encumbering and inarticulate.

The spinning nozzle is more destructive because fabric is a weave so the movement is likely pushing the individual threads around and able to exert the force more on the single threads.

Along with a large amount of empty space for the water to pass through(so not all of it is applying force) lace is also, if done properly, a tight woven and intricate material that, while obviously not immensely durable, should be able to hold up to some torment
