Here is a gun restoration of an Italian army issue Beretta model 1934 produced in 1940 with a "FAG" proof mark of 1939 which makes is a little bit more rare. This suggests that the handgun was made in 1940 but before october 28 1940. Or "FAG" had not gotten their official proof mark from the mint office in Rome before the pistol was made and roll marked with the 1940 date code. Of course this video will have test firing like all videos. Just a heads up to anyone who reads these, there are some huge iconic firearms coming to the channel this spring and summer. @@cigoLxeLbut some rust on plastic is to be expected especially flood or river guns because of rust bleeding like on vehicles you will see rust lines from metal to plastic or rubber

Great job on the restoration. I purchased one of these last year, in very good condition, and the proof marks indicate it was for the Italian Air Force. No stampings on the slide indicates it was built late July to early September of 1943 after the Allies liberated Italy. Great pieces of history.

Also, this gun was very popular in many British movies and TV shows in the 1960's. Watch The Saint with Roger Moore and you will see this gun appear in many of the episodes. Who new it was a TV and movie star? 😀

One of the finest results on your channel. Love the two toned look and the orange against the darker blueing. I always hated Berettas (loved the 1911's) until I got out of the military. I used to have an M34 in my collection before, but sold it in the mid 2000's. This video brings back a lot of days at the range and being asked what it was. Anyway great job on this. Such a fantastic result.

Absolute gorgeous firearm with beautiful striking color on the metals. I first imagined this was going to be one of his easier projects and would turn out very nicely and he did not disappoint ! The action of the piece seems very nice and smooth. This is my favorite firearm so far that the maestro has completed. I would love to own this awesome pistol. It would be a perfect match to my 1940 Ford Sedan ! Bravo !

My grandad took one of these off an Italian prisoner of war and bought it back. We had to give it in about 60 years later but it was in excellent condition. It was so easy to clean and operate.

The same pistol that James Bond was carrying in Dr No when he had to change it into a Walter PPK , but in Fleming's books he was carrying a Beretta 25. In any case thank you: this was my first sidearm in the carabinieri, changed with the Beretta 92 in 1982.

Have you considered making a slide hammer type tool -like the ones used for pulling car wheel hubs off? I reckon you could make something similar easily, that would help with say mag removal. It uses inertia rather than direct force. Might be handy for freeing other parts too. But yes this mag was an easier one!
