I love how this terror/survival game has so much science and biology that attaches to it that the developers could have just explained with “Its an alien planet.”

I think the floaters are pretty relevant to the story, because though their lore is a bit boring, they are responsible for the floating island, which was the first Degasi Base on the map. It also allowed for dozens of unique plants to grow which were important in the Degasi crew’s survival. In general, though their lore is boring, the floaters are important in the Degasi crew’s survival, a meeting place for aurora survivors and the number one best place on the map.

The first time I encountered a mesmer, I remember thinking to myself "That thing would make a terrifying leviathan if it was bigger."

I find the Hoverfish adorable, especially how it smiles at you when you hold it. :)

You know what would look REALLY cool? A Lava zone adaptation of the Mesmer

Fun fact: sometimes, around vents (after what I found) you can find peepers with a glowing trial behind them, because they have the enzyme in them

I actually finished binge watching the lore series about subnautica sometime 2 weeks ago, and the amount of times you said “for the lack of a better word” was PHENOMENAL

I wish they would’ve kept the seamoth line, “I love it when you come inside me”. I know this is a random place to put this BUT I LOVE THE LINE. It’s so funny! The first time I heard it back in early access I burst out laughing.

Its crazy how a small group of people can create a fully flourishing ecosystem it honestly amazes me

Honestly for the reaper the part about echolocation where it says "if you can hear it, it can see you." Is enough to get top tier all on its own for me

The reaper is also probably the main food source for the dragon. The entrance to the lost river from the grand reef that also leads to a hole to the lava stone is covered in reaper skeletons.

It did land in their territory, but unless they hit you like the U. S. Armed Forces, their bites probably won’t kill you. The only time I see them being able to do that, is if your health is already compromised (that is, near death).

I work in Marine Biology and just discovered this game. So I've been playing it to death. If anyone is curious, there are lots of real life science application of marine biology in this game and some that are just odd. One cool one are the cave and blood crawlers representative of the concept of "deep sea gigantism". Definitely worth looking up to get better insight on the context of same creatures.

A little known fact is that the lava larva displays curiousity towards small fish, often following them. This also applies to fish held out in the player’s hand.

I think it is hinted at in the reefback lore that it contains 'superfluous' enzyme pockets similar to the peeper and may have aided in the survival of the above-ground ecosystem as the peepers did.

Warpers definitely were well placed, it’s also terrifying how their technology allows them to jam and interfere with radio signals, as well as NOT attacking the player once they are cured of Kharaa, as they were built specifically to hunt down and kill infected creatures once the Precursor’s knew they couldn’t do anything about the disease by that point and they would just have to wipe the planet until they could return. It’s also scary how much they speak and understand human speech, which implies their not only artificial but also in some regards slightly leaning towards more of sentient creatures rather than standard creatures even if not completely. Their cold and calculated which genuinely makes them awesome.

I think how mageurit got to below zero is that theres a portal somewhere in the areas of the first subnautica, because you said that the portals are places to get around the place in the first subnautica. So i think she got to below zero that way. 2. If mageurit got to below zero by just swimming there disproves the theory "" something bigger out there"" because if your far away enough the ghost leviathan doesnt come after you. Maybe the Kara bacteria maybe just killed everything in the other parts of the world.

You should have put in the sky ray and the big floater + seperated adult and juvenile sea emperor, ghost leviathan

It's really not a bad thing there's a broad base of creatures whose purpose in the gzme is just to hang around and fill out the ecosystem of 4546b. I mean yeah we all love the peepers and sea emperors but having a few scavengers scuttle about, some extra small fish species, etc does a lot to make the place feel alive.
