Thank you Johanna for giving me the confidence to take the plunge and purchase my first Coverstitch Machine. Without the help of your useful videos I don’t think I would have ever got there!

Great video Johanna! I have a Bernette B42 and I wanted to throw it out of the window for about a year. I was so sad because it was a big investment for me and my hubby had given it to me for Valentine's Day. Then, one day I saw a tip to use the thread nets and it changed my life! Most of the problems that I had seemed to be tension, adjusting the dials just wasn't solving them, but that one simple thing changed the way my machine worked. Now I love it, other than changing thread colors with each project (but it is relatively easy to re-thread).

On changing color: You may cut the thread high up, and make a knot on your threads, two single knots that make a double, pull well, and cut the ends first. Stop before it reaches the needles.. go slowly.

Johanna, those are exactly the tip I give to my customers at the shop where I work - and I, also, recommend for them to purchase your book. Even though I have been using coverstitch machines for years I did learn many things from your book. Great video, Johanna.

Johanna, I finally decided to purchase cover stitch machine, yesterday, haven't even used on garment yet, but it is going to be a great machine. Did not know which one, only what I did not want, did not want a combination machine--too fiddly and likely to be time consuming when changing from serger to coverstitch, Next, wanted a coverstitch that did the coverstitch on both sides of the fabric, Oh also I did not want a Brother machine. Ended up purchasing from my local dealer, the Janome 3000 professional and pretty happy about my choice. I did watch many youTubes on what people were using and it helped--Thank you.

I just LOVE your new book! And on a side note, I love the feel of the book cover. Good choice there. I’m so very grateful to have a Baby Lock cover stitch machine. I use it constantly as I love to sew knits (and woven’s). It tames even the thinnest jersey fabrics that want to roll. On Baby Lock machines, it doesn’t seem to matter in which order you thread the machine but after years of owning other brands, I naturally just thread from right to left.

I received your Coverstitch book “Master the Coverstitch Machine” a couple weeks ago. I have got to tell you this is the best written book I have ever read! I have a Janome CP1000 cover stitch machine which I love, and reading your book gives me so much enthusiasm to do more on it than just hemming. Thanks for such a wonderfully written book!

Hi Johanna, I've got your books and they help tremendously! I have the Janome Cover pro 1000 and I'm loving making my own leggings but I find that the hems are very tight on them after I sew them on the coverpro. Everything else seems alrightny suggestions as to the settings? Thanks, Andrea

Decrease the stitch length and/or increase the differential feed a bit. That will usually fix the issue. And thank you for getting my book!

I bought Brother CV3550cover stitch. I was watching you video very carefully and followed same way how to finish and lock the stitches. But every time when I finish my stitches and tried to pull the fabric from back it doesn’t come loose at all. To loose the fabrics from underneath foot I have to open front cover and pull side my looper and then I can loose the fabric out. I have to do this every time and my stitches keep breaking. Can you advice or any suggestions to prevent this step? How can I do easy Coverstitch? I am so frustrated that all money I have spent to buy this Coverstitch gone into drain. I show your video and I thought why can’t I do it like you and I followed exactly the way you have shown. Can you please help ?

All over recommended to use quality threads, as cheaper thread will internally dust down your machine. :)

You’re not kidding! No matter what i do, the rotten thing won’t get its act together. And swearing at it isn’t helping at all! Maybe I should put it back in the box and get it out the other side, it might be in a better mood 😂. I forgot you had a book. I’m going to go and have another look at buying that.
