Wind and use a bobbin or two, why not? What a great, appropriate solution! And . . . if this is your first twin-needle experience, manually make sure the now-wider needle(s) clears the needle slot in the foot. But don't assume that all twin-needles of various widths will clear.

I have Bernina 1080. I've had it for many years. I also have the 200 embroidery machine and I always sew on the 1080. Love this machine.

I'm a bit of a nerd for buying new presser feet. Mostly generic ones for my singer, tho i have a few branded ones for the feet with lots of moving parts, but i think the quality isn't much different. Overedge foot is essential if you don't have an overlocker. The peg in the foot gives a relaxed stitch without curling the seam allowance. Got to get some form of darning/free hand embroidery foot, just cause it gives you a lot of things to play with, and for doing utilitarian fixes to your house clothes etc. I had one with a transparent closed toe, but the lenslike shape of it actually meant it wasn't easy to see through, so i prefer a large eyed open toed metal foot. Edge joining foot has so many uses. I mainly use it in conjunction with moving the needle position a few mm to the left to do accurate top stitching along a shirt seam or patch pocket. Just started sewing knits and I'm a big fan of the knit foot, the one that has a blue rubber nub to hold floppy knits in place when the needle comes down to reduce skipped stitches, and just stitch more evenly. It is less pushy than the walking foot and doesnt pull to one side. Expect the blue nub to constantly fall off and get sewn into your seam though... it deserves more recognition than being seen as a poor man's walking foot. It probably is less suited for heavy knits

Can you recommend a better method of attaching the ends of collars than just hook and loop? I would prefer to not use just the hook and loop to attach the ends.

kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f9qqaLudvrPdeY0.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htOSeMt-uKe3nKc.html Can you improve on better ways of heavy sewing of the tarps? Because you are in a cold climate area where tarps are used. What is the best way to hem the edges of the tarps? What we are stuck in here, that only those sired by L. Ron Hubbard become probate judges, insisting that everybody has to be born in the safaris in sw Africa "leases" there. So all our identities in Texas were all stolen and nobody can recuperate our identities. Anyway everybody had to be born on the leases of the safaris to be chosen here. Anyway they are cutting down on sewing supplies, they closed the many stores competing with Joann's and made the sewing machine repair shops go out of business here, then the last sewing machine repair shop and all the industrial machine repair people have to retire so. Nobody is allowed to compete with Joanne's either, all the shops forced out of business right now by judicial decisions here. I repaired many items for those at REI, so they say that you cannot be a broadcaster in Washington near REI if you were not born in the leases of SW Africa too. Most employers prepare lists of types of workers to drive to Mexico and hand required skills to governors there always. Hired inside the offices of governors in Mexico for many practical business decisions. Nobody with a visa for this continent, each one born in the sw Africa safaris, is hired by the state here. So most people in central Texas see the many little sewing shops all close down except for Joann's, which also may close too, the greatest machine repair people all at once went out of business too. It has nothing to do with any competition excuses nor policies.

Please help. When it comes to sewing a hem with twin needles on the right side of the fabric, there is no guide to help sew in a straight line. How do i overcome this problem? What do other people do in this situation? Many thanks

Can you suggest how to add stabilizer to thiner knits with a knot in front. I purchased a shirt and the knot tightens up with wear and you can't see the detail. The knot tightening does not affect wear...it would just look better with more volume in the knot around bellybutton/waist. I have no extra fabric to make a facing. Thanks

i tried putting wooly nylon in my loopers and for some reason it just doesn't work and seems to pop or break out of the looper guides, it is very bizarre. i think it said threadart on the package

I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t know that twin needles were for certain stitches. Mine came with my new to me machine and I thought it was for fun appliqué stitches. I used them for a double embroidered line with different coloured threads, and found the stitch that looks like smocking made an interesting decorative pattern. These tips are a bonus!

Nailpolish remover is made from Acetone. You can use it as well for removing Glue resedue from Surfaces like sewing machines..😉 (Btw if you mix acetone with Styrofoam it will result in a very strong glue which otherwise you have to buy very expensive. Acetone is very cheap.Styrofoam rest pieces you will find in packaging or construction sites.)

No matter what I do, loosen tension all the way to zero, shorten stitch length, the fabric stretches and the sleeve circumference ends up wider than its starting length. If I test the stretchiness, I can feel the inner thread become extra taught and sometimes breaks. Extremely frustrating.

When pulling an elastic through the waist of the pants line, I use hemostat locking tweezers on the last end of the elastic so it can't accidentally pull through. I just use a pair from the tool shop, not the expensive surgical kind. Also good for clamping onto one side of a seam and hooking the handle onto something stable, then pulling on the other side of the seam to rip it open.
