After dedicating several months to our "Best of" series and then nearly a month devoted to the SHOT Show, we are happy to be back in the saddle and bring you the first review of 2024 and it's a good one! Today we will review the all new AGM Rattler V2 TS25-384 and the V2 TS35-384. Yep that's right, 2 scopes crammed into one review but these are both too great to separate. The AGM Rattlers have become a staple of the small compact thermal market line up but AGM decided to up the ante and make something great, even better. The Rattler V2's feature a super long lasting battery life, better image quality, audio along with the video recording, a high recoil rating and a price point you can't resist. If you're looking for an affordable 384 resolution thermal scope that packs a bunch, check this review out.

*** Why Hunt Hogs? ***
Our journey into wild/feral hog hunting started like many others living in rural communities. We didn't start hog hunting for fun or sport... we did it because we had to. You see, hogs cause millions of dollars of damage and destruction each year in rural communities and our situation was no different. Hogs were destroying our land and that out of friends and family. The vast majority of hunting stories that you hear about on this channel are hogs, boars and sows, taken from family land... this problem is personal for us...
__________________________________________________
*** Why Hunt Coyotes and Predators? ***
Coyotes and Predators, similar to hogs, cause financial stress for many families in rural communities. Coyotes kill livestock, plain and simple. Ranchers have battled coyotes killing cattle since the early days of ranching and it costs them dearly. Cattle ranching is a business, the cows aren't pets, every time they lose a calf to a coyote those families lose a paycheck. Cattle ranchers hate coyotes just as much as Farmers hate hogs! We hunt coyotes to protect the livelihood of our friends and neighbors that depend on their cattle business to feed their family...

Can we get a comparison between the rattler V2 256 vs the 384 line? Trying hard to justify twice the price here in Maine. Thanks for all your hard work guys.

I like the hot tracking. It glitches all over whenever there's normally not an animal. When there is an animal, it normally tracked very well. I'm definitely excited about the new Rattler, can't wait until I can afford it!

What a phenomenal upgrade! It seems like they hit it out of the park. Question for you. You mentioned the Adder has the same picture quality as the v2s. All the Adders I have seen come with an NETD rating of

You are correct. That was a mis-speak by Jason. The Rattler V2 does indeed have a lower NETD rating. We haven’t noticed any real difference in the image quality but on paper the lower mk rating is better. Thanks for watching!

Great show again. Just a thought. I had to order a suppressor based on just research. No one telling us the real results. Can’t go shoot them before we buy like a thermal or NV. It’s a stretch but would love to see 1 show in top 5 suppressor picks for our night time hunting setups.

Really makes me second guess grabbing the sidewinder. Is there any advantage to going with the sidewinder over gaining the mount options of this if it will likely be a handheld 95% of its life?
@TheLateNightVisionShow
@TheLateNightVisionShow 5 ай бұрын
The 18650 in the Sidewinder is really nice and the Sideinder is truly made to be a handheld and one handed operation. The Rattler would work as a handheld but if you really aren’t rifle mounting it, the Sidewinder makes more sense.

Just bought the 25-256 V2 at the outdoor show in Harrisburg. Same price as the “V1” but sooo much better. Just couldn’t justify an extra $800 for the 384 and losing base magnification.

Shot activated video is great. How many times have we forgot to hit record in the field. As long as it's activated it records two seperate videos, the SAV version and a version if you hit record yourself. So you get 2 seperate videos of the same thing. Always keep it turned on...

Yes sir daytime use is no problem. It will look exactly like it does at night but objects that have large amounts of radiant heat in them will glow hot.

No, these are not clip ons. There is a separate clip on model if you wanted but we do not advise them. You will be much better severed and saved money by buying a dedicated scope.

Unfortunately like most all used electronics the manufacturers and dealers don’t have a market or use for the old models. The best way to maximize value is to sell your scope yourself on the secondary market and use the funds to put towards the new model.

I won't buy anything with a built in battery or proprietary battery. The old Rattler uses CR123 and has C port for using external power bank. They're doing the same thing cellphone companies did, built in battery to sell more phones and make more money. Good for them, not good for buyers

Does it need updates right out the box can I use it without hooking up to internet and can I dis able wifi so it can't b used
@TheLateNightVisionShow
@TheLateNightVisionShow 3 ай бұрын
You don’t have to update it unless you want to or unless there is a problem that an iodate will fix. Generally speaking we don’t update our scopes at all. WiFi is off unless you turn it on and then you still have to intentionally connect your phone to the scope and it still can’t access the internet since the scope has no connection to the web. If you don’t want to use this option, you definitely don’t have to.

Thank u I'm lookin at the v2 35 384 or a pvs 14 for 2600 kinda a toss up
@TheLateNightVisionShow
@TheLateNightVisionShow 3 ай бұрын
Thermal is generally going to offer you way more than a PVS-14. Its inky benefit is for navigation on a helmet but a good helmet with all the quality mounting brackets is another $1,000+. A thermal scope like a Rattler can be used on both a rifle and handheld and nothing hides from thermal. It’s a FAR superior technology and that’s what PVS14’s and other NV are almost non-existent in the hunting world now days

There is only one thermal scope on the market that takes an SD card. Everything else has internal recording. There is one scope with no recording at all but it’s early $7,000. There is just no real market for optics these days without recording. Sorry!
