And it's such a well-designed game as well. If the number of strikes a link gets was literally anything other than 3, playing completely new links wouldn't be nearly as encouraged. And the way the starting movie changes every day and you can switch out your bans means the meta keeps changing and everyone will have some days where they're really strong.

The strategies and counter-strategies people come up with are wild! On the day they had Black Swan, every once in a while someone would hit you with a French film right from the get-go cause there's a single French actor in the movie, so then you have to go and look up a French movie that will let you easily get back to English stuff, but meanwhile you're filing away "La Frenais" as an early game grenade, it's wild

I think small imbalances can be great for fostering a satisfying competitive experience. Even a classic game that's been studied for hundreds of years like chess involves playing different openings depending on which color you get. And what might be seen as cheese by beginners will be viewed as a completely fair skill check and an avenue for nuanced strategy by more experienced players. @@shreycod4

This goes to show that everyone has something they’re absolutely cracked at, you just have to find your niche and put in the work unlock your full potential. In NL’s case, putting in the work was watching an ungodly amount of mid movies before becoming a father lol.

My personal line here was: Treasure Planet (JGL) > they don't know who the fuck is in that movie so they just do another (JGL) > *GET READY TO LEARN WHO'S IN ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD, BUDDY.* Now, you'd think you'd just reverse it, but there's a further trap that people often fell into. They use Cast, see Christopher Lloyd is in it, and go "Uhhhhhh Back to the Future!". Then, you hit 'em with Stuart Little 3, starring Michael J. Fox, and there is ZERO chance they know who's in that, even though if they'd think about it they'd know Tom fucking Kenny is in there. So you get them to guess another Michael, and then you give 'em ATLANTIS THE LOST EMPIRE. And oh, baby, if you don't know your James Garner filmography you're COOKED. Oh, Leonard Nimoy, how cute. I'm going to another Star Trek through a different connection, making _YOU_ use the 2nd Nimoy, _AND THEN I FUCKING HIT YOU WITH _*_ADVENTURES IN ZAMBEZIA,_* a 2012 animated movie nobody's EVER fucking heard of. Nice skip, it's got Samuel L. Jackson in it. You're going to lose to "Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe", a real move I won with in a *_129-MOVE GAME._* Unless you're the egg, I'm in a whole different league. Come back when you've spent a little more time in a reclining theater chair.

How nobody played off Bruce Cambell is beyond me. Him and Sam Rami are basically the same as Tim Burnton and Johnny Depp. Army of Darkness is also probably a trap card , I dont think theres a way out of it on a Bruce campbell final.
