@@thelightersideofrc If you ever build a Tsunami i can provide the all the paint masks. Spent alot of time making accurate masks for the red paint scheme, and have them in digital format for adjusting the size with no quality loss

Tail wheel steering pull wires, i use a spring on each. Just thread wire through the spring and crimp in place. It stretches so the wire still does the pull pull action. Spring contracts and holds wire shorter and contained

Understandable but on this strega there isn't much room on the plate and because of the Electron gear design there is so much movement I can't imagine a good spot to locate springs to work well.

@@thelightersideofrc over the existing pull pull cables, just a very light and long extention spring. Thread the pull pull cable through the centre of the spring. Or even a piece of elastic. So when there is slack it contains the bending and bowing of the slack cable. Hope this explains better what I was trying to image

Love to see a prop plane on your work bench. I know first hand and feel your pain when you don't get a build manual. I have a CARF 3 meter Extra 330LX and it also shows up with no manual and the real frustration is the firewall does not have the 2.5 degree offset in it, in stead it is flat but the cowl is made with the 2.5 degree offset. Pretty frustrating but thats how CARF does it. Great video buddy.

Simply amazed at the flap servo location. Seems absolutely ridiculous that it isn't simply mounted to a servo access like the aileron servo. Just screams "WHY".

On a project build i had the fuselage 3D scanned so I can design, redesign & manipulate parts to see where conflicts might be. I know, my brain is weird, like complexity brings a sense of calmness to me🤷. I also think it's great to see how you problem solve challenges. 🙂👍.

Yeah A, nice test pilot. Glad to see your fitting custom controls for the cat. Question, do you not run a screw threw the wood, pull it back out and then thin CA the treads you just made in the wood?

Thanks. Sometimes I will run the screw, remove and use thin ca. Sometimes drill the hole. CA to screw or hole or both and thread in screw. Treats threads and also locks screw well.

Wow what a beautiful build!, what do you expect the wing loading to be with such a large engine. I only ask because in 1998 I built a Cosmic Wind with a large single 100cc engine squeezed in. In short it flew great until I had a dead prop situation and it went into a stall at high speed (shocking) I managed to recover just before impact and hit the ground with only minor damage but after the experience I put a lighter engine in. Take great care on that maiden and good luck it's a great project!

Don't put licktite on anything that is near plastic or touches plastic.. the locktite will make the plastic brittle.

For $3,300 you'd think Carf would make things a touch easier. I've been looking at a couple of Carf planes and to be honest, I'm not sure I want to invest that sort of money for those sort of problems.

Beautiful plane but a shame the control surface linkages are exposed considering the size of the plane. If Avios could do it with their Spitfire then surely Carf could have..

Only partially exposed, except elevators. Better than fully exposed!

Half the fun of a Carf kit was always tossing their hardware in the bin and getting some good stuff to replace it with. At least the plane has its “rubbers”. For safety.

Now that you've messed with this for a bit. Would you think the Kolm 155 would be a better engine for this plane versus the 230?

Great question Jeff. The 155 would probably be a much easier install. The next strega video is a week from today. All about engine. It is TIGHT! Definitely a 2 person job. I don’t think I could physically install myself without a 2nd person. Maybe if I had an engine hoist 😂😂

I' watched Ur video and noticed the servo in the wing is wrong, not you but the design, the servo needed to be on the opposite side inside the wing and the servo horns to face same way swinging and torque from servo is more desirable, look and see it .

Why not feed the wire and connectors thru the wing into the fuselage like u would on other planes u built. I see u are feeding the wires and connectors outside the wing into the fuselage of the plane

Wing roots connect to eachother. So they have to feed into the fuse through the top side of the wing.

i definitely don't understand why carf still producing kit with control horn outside the wing, it's ugly for that level of price i expect scale surface control as the real not very complicated to do so. Except that all the rest is very smooth thank to your excellent work, keep going my friend.....
