Made my mouth water and brought out the nostalgia in me. The ihop mugs are an addiction since I was there last. I don’t care for crepes but I do really enjoy the American pancakes with bacon and eggs on the same plate with lashings of maple syrup. The first time I saw someone have it was not impressed, but being me I had to try it and that was at the turn of the century. I had to smile at the title when I saw the amount of syrup you put on the pancakes.

I remember going to a restaurant called ponderosa on international drive about 18 years ago it was all you can eat breakfast and I was gobsmacked when an American filled his whole plate up with bacon in front of me it was stacked up like a mountain

I go to IHOP now and again, and my go-to dish is the breakfast sampler. I do substitute the ham for one extra piece of bacon and one extra sausage. Always have my eggs over medium, and the hash browns are always good. You aren't going to get UK style bacon and sausage in a US chain restaurant, so just accept that its different. I always make sure to spread the butter over both pancakes immediately they arrive so it gets melted in, ready for when I've finished with the savoury components of breakfast. As someone else mentioned, don't spread syrup over the pancakes until you are ready to eat them, makes for a better experience. And it's not maple syrup in IHOP, that is way too expensive.

I read the side of one of those wee pots once - it said it was non dairy and was made from hydrogenated vegetable fats or something similar. That was when I began drinking coffee black if that was all thats on offer The playwright Somerset Maughan once said if you want to eat well in England you must eat breakfast 3 times every day. It looks like its a meal to avoid in the USA

We literally binge watch your videos for hours. You deserve way more subscribers and views!. We used to watch a certain youtuber who takes his table and chair everywhere. First time we went to the US we stopped at IHOP first day after arrival on the road to Vegas. T Bone Steak and eggs with a short stack of pancakes. Thought I was on another planet. Loved it and the prices. $2 to the pound then and America was cheap as chips. Things have plainly changed a lot.

Hey Lee! The menu is interesting. I loved the look of those pancakes! I’d love to try their French toast and waffles too. Although I like yourself and would expect the pancakes to be big and thin like crepes Very spoilt for choice. IHOP looked a bit like one of those Lego model when you filmed it from the outside. Hi Lee, ate in that very ihop on my first trip to America in 2012! I Drive was such a cool place for first timers. In your vid, you cross the road at a Denny’s, had our breakfast at that place in our very first morning, I went outside for a smoke & met this black man who gave me a light, ha asked me where we were from,I said Scotland, he asked how long we were here for? I said two weeks and he took one look at my pasty white body and said “you still ain’t gonna have a tan like me in two weeks son” and laughed! Such a nice guy! Totally agree about Americans liking sweet stuff. Visited orlando some years ago and got excited in Golden Corral when I saw they had eggy bread (french toast), had 4 slices. Got to table and had a big mouthful, ugh!!! drenched in icing sugar, Arghhhh!

Hash Brown looked great, but those sausages were indeed odd. Its some years since i visited Orlando and i remember an 'all you can eat' places i think was called 'The Golden Corral'. Back when you got $2 to the pound, this all you can eat buffet style restaurant was fantastic as it worked out at about £4 to pig out. I saw some big fellas in there come in around 10:30, grab several plates of breakfast, bacon, eggs, all that sort of stuff, then the lunch menu would kick in around 11am. Those same people would then go ballistic on the lunch menu. Roast dinner, pizza, spag bol, I've never seen people eat so much food. They certainly got their money worth. I reckon if it still exists, you should check out the Golden Corral.

Depends what you like I guess- I agree the breakfasts dont always look that appetising but what I’ve had so far all tasted immaculate- Had the pancakes whilst we were out here at the IHOP near Endless summer, they were some of the best pancakes I’ve had- must depend on what IHOP you visit I suppose also- visit Denny’s- really good value for money place or Cicis pizza

Avoid the chains and the tourist traps. Go urban and suburban. As you say the small family run businesses will give you something tasty and better value for money.

The thing with America seems to be, that people come from all over, particularly from Europe, bringing all their cuisines with them, and over time, they seem to have integrated, processed and =, specifically, marketed it in their own way.....and then send it across the world heading back to everyone, an overprocessed, slickly marketed, standard offering! Can't help feeling that, to a degree, we've been conned!

Lee, unfortunately in so much food there is so much unnecessary sugar. People put sugar in pancake batter and then put sweet maple syrup on it. As a youngster in Canada, if we had pancakes, waffles or French toast, we’d put no extra sugar as we would put maple syrup on it. I agree, I’d give it a 7 and maybe an 8 if it wasn’t so sweet

Man that was some weight you look good now, when I first got to L.A. mid 80s Used to go to Norm’s Diner after a skin full late or 1am or so steak and eggs hash browns thought it was magic steak and eggs 😂😂 it was ok but having that when you first get there is a novelty from fish and chips after a skin full at home but the eggs always great over easy and the hash browns always good, lived L.A 20 odd years miss the diners you must try Musso and frank if your ever in L.A Open since 1919

Firstly congratulations for hitting almost 100k subscribers well deserved. Secondly at 09:57 I was convinced you were gonna cut in that infamous Grange Hill sausage scene however you more than made up for it with the little barking dog s/x. I’m regularly on TikTok and I’m sure it was the barking corgi dog that you buy your host as a gift lol🤣🤣. Anyway that aside those eggs were tiptop, the hash browns how I like ‘em and decent looking ham. The only big no no we’re the sausages and the bacon but as you stated Lee you know what you’re gonna get at iHop. Nothing spectacular just good honest food.

Lee, I told it was just average. IHOP isn't really rebranded. It's been called IHOP since 1973. The smiley face was added in 2015 so that's not really new either. I don't know who says everybody likes IHOP? Where in the world did you get that idea? I personally don't like IHOP. I have had their hamburgers and they're not great either. You're pancakes were super sweet because you dowsed them with a half gallon of syrup, what did you think that much syrup would do to your pancakes? I was surprised you didn't get toast by the way. You need toast when you have eggs. Another thing, when you're in Florida, you always get orange juice. Florida always has the best orange juice because it's directly farm to table, fresh squeezed. Even if the restaurant doesn't have fresh squeezed, since the juice is produced locally, it's going to taste a lot fresher. Make sure you get orange juice while you're down there, fresh squeezed is always preferable.

Great viewing Lee, .....respect to the residents of Orlando, but I would be getting the next available plane back to New York.... unfortunately even with the sunshine it does not do it for me. Before I get the Limey insults , places in the UK make me leave very quickly too. With the likes of Mallorca, Tenerife & Benidorm on our doorstep I won't be crossing the Atlantic anytime soon, except for the Big Apple of course !! No disrespect meant from the above comments. 👍

My one and only experience of iHop was in the late 90s when I was in Florida with my Dad and I found a black lump of …something (no idea what) in my salad. My Dads meal wasn’t great either and he refused to pay. It was terrible. Been to the US loads but never been back there.

If this is the small IHop by burger king, opposite Denny's then its the wrong 1 to go to as its absolutely crap in there. I'm from the UK & everytime we come to Orlando on holiday we stay on I-Drive & go to I-Hop for breakfast a few times in 2 weeks since the Ponderosa closed there but we always go to the bigger I-Hop down by KFC (opposite where Wild'N'Wet was). Never had a bad meal in there, whether it's 7am in the morning or 12 midnight. Hate Denny's too as had really bad meal in there, so we avoid that place like the plague.

Much prefer our 'Waffer thin' (in comparison) pancakes, and the shaving foam you had as decoration was trying to make a run for it... think your championing of family run establishments is a sound one!
