Loved the China videos! I went back to look at all the negative comments on the first video though, and I couldn't actually find any? Lots of people suggesting using VPN if you're ever back there and want to access your socials, but they seemed to be trying to be helpful and didn't sound negative to me. Maybe I didn't scroll through enough of them? Either way, you are an amazing drummer and I look forward to your next videos!

Good commentary, great sense of humor, great drumming, amazing showmanship/antics. I've played drums for decades and it's interesting to learn from other musicians. I've never seen showmanship, moves, stick tricks, or antics done the unique exciting way you have. The other drummer you mention Daniel Glass put out an excellent and informative documentary on the history and evolution of the drum set from individual percussion on separate pieces to combined versatile modern kits. Thanks to both of you for expanding percussion in new innovative ways !!!

About the food situation, I can so relate to this. I'm an extremely picky eater as well, and it's one of the reasons that made me give up pursuing a music carreer. When I was in a band, every time I would play a gig in a different location, I'd be dead anxious not knowing if I could eat at all, and even when I could eat, I would be facing the judgement of my peers, something like "how could that grown man eat like an 8yr old?". Major kudos to you, and it's a relief to know I'm not alone in this situation.

My man, Uninformed people love to make unintelligent comments. You had a gig, these people sit on their couches. You do you. Don't worry about them.

Dude, thank you I use to be a professional motorcycle stunt rider. I was a hero, people looked up to me. I signed autographs. I got old and had to stop. And slowly started feeling like a fat POS, has been. You have inspired me to start stunting some symbols, murdering some drums. Learning basics now but i want to mimic your style slowly. My goal is to eventually get back into the spotlight.

I admit to being a picky eater, and outside of the US, I have only been to Canada where the food was fantastic. I am a bit afraid to travel anywhere else out of food concerns, so thanks for the tips and heads-up.

I toured China in 91. Our lead guitarist and the sound man both ate peanut butter for days and days because the food is quite different. The taste and smell is very different. International travel when it comes to food varies wildly and for some there's just no way around it. We did get taken to Pizza Hut in Beijing and had my first Hawaiian pizza. Last day before leaving the country, on the way out we hit a McD's in Hong Kong and we all ate like double what we normally would eat because it's McDonald's and we just went bonkers. I'm sorry you felt the need to explain yourself to the internet. For me, I had to ask "what's in this" a LOT because of food allergies. Almost ate coconut ice cream which would have caused a rainbow ejection in public had I not and just went with "i better just be polite and eat what I'm given to be polite".

Being a bass player for 35 years and I've enjoyed your playing on KZfaq videos over the years. I feel you and Mr. Beast opening the doors to China's social media sites might be risky. That said I was a charter member of MADD, musicians against drunk drummers. 😂 I hope the kids in China can one day enjoy real freedom to enjoy music, the only real universal language.

I totally understand how it can be a challenge, my best mate from England came to my wedding and really struggled without his daily Costa coffee and burger when most of the food was insanely spicy or made of strange things! But he loved China, same as you did!

I could never understand people, who put negative comments. It is you choice, if you want to use VPN or anything else, like also what you eat and what you take with you to eat. Even if it legal to use, and there is a restaurant with food you love, on each corner. It ist your personal choise what you take with you and how you use Internet and social media.And you do not have to explain your choices to anyone. I really enjoyed both videos from China. Keep doing your things, and don´t care if anyone is ok with it or not. This is your life, and as long as you do things, you are ok with, everything is perfect.
