@@dealinginfiction That was pretty much it. He sucked all the magic from the room like a vaccum and enchanted his final card to score the win. Not only does he miss Alice, but this scene happened in the final book of the series (albeit differently.)

True but the spell on the board game in the first season shows Q was one of the most powerful of the students the others were just introduced earlier he’s new and was able to make a black hole a spell Alice wasn’t even sure about

I just started reading the book recently, and in the book, Josh actually made the black hole! Everyone was drunk asf and he was like, "LOOK WHAT I DID!!" and they were all terrified

@@bip321boom Probably one of my favorite parts of that book was when we got to see the perspective of the students and they were kind of blown away because he had all this knowledge of magic from Fillory.

@@amazingmetapanda8166 As far as i can remember, he doesnt tell any students about Fillory. Its only after he's been kicked out and has played Push that he tells Pear.

In an interview over the summer, Jason mentioned how Quentin was going to come back with the wisdom of 100 years as he spent in Fillory Past, something like that. Basically saying he was going to appear much more grown up.

@@TheMagiciansLoveX Yes but sadly he didn't appear to be more badass. Just ..grown up and well he wasn't exactly childish before so that didn't change much in my opinion. I really liked that he had a scene where he looked really skilled in something. The others tend to outshine him when it comes to skills.

@@ducklingscap897 yeah Quentin, went through a whole arc about questioning him self, being insecure and unconfident it was nice and very much needed to see Quentin feeling confident and contributing.

Well, you would have to master probability spells before and then be smart enough to beat magicians who have been practicing magic for decades and have played this game for all their life. Pretty difficult indeed.

@@TheMagiciansLoveXI'm guessing one of the doctors that operated on him was a magician who wore those cufflinks (at a guess they Abzorb bad luck but need to be periodically discharged) would ensure your surgeries always went well but if he hadn't discharged them recently or forgot well

@@TheMagiciansLoveX yea, now that I think of it they made the God killing weapon last season and Rupert's journal kinda got replaced in season 1 so I doubt they have a reason to go on the heist but it would still be cool.

Do book readers know who/what the "monster" ist that occupies Eliots body? No spoilers please. I am just curious how close the series is to the books because season 1 and 2 were not that close according to comments and they said they wanted to make it closer to the books. I am still afraid to read the books because everyone says the show is better and I don't want to ruin the story for me.

@@ducklingscap897 there wasn't a monster in the castle in the book series, they added that to spice up the tv show I guess and it worked lol

Who said they wanted it to be closer to the book version? The last interview I saw with Sera, she said it was "based on", and the books did provide some plots we might see develop but my impression was it was not going to be closely affiliated with the books, including book 3. Did I miss something?

There is “so much” of Book 3 in the upcoming Season 4, he explains, and also in Season 5-because, as McNamara sees it, Grossman “brought everything to a chiseled, smashing completion. I’m really happy that we may be doing more of a strict adaptation this [next] year than ever before.” I thought this means they stick closer to the book but I couldn't find another source saying that soo I guess it was wrong.
