Alcoholics are liars, cheats and deceive EVERYONE around them.
Here's TWO places I used to hide alcohol in full view and no-one ever found them.
Women are very clever, so the alcoholic has to be one step ahead, and they mostly are.

I was an alcoholic for years, I use to hide vodka in rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide bottles in the bathroom. Anytime I needed a drink, I’d go “take a pee” and swig what I needed. This is a genuine question but do you think you could have overcome the addiction without your newfound religious beliefs? I only ask because I was addicted to opiates for over 7 years (i didn't drink much but addiction is similar either way) and I went through a "spiritual" or "religious" time while trying to quit and it just didn't help me much. I started to see myself as someone just trying to hope for a miracle from a deity, like it would fix my problems. It wasn't until I found that strength in myself and I finally got over what I still consider literal hell on earth. But so many others who fought addiction I know seem to have found a new religious outlook on life. I am a bit disappointed it didn't work for me like it did others. But whatever I guess at least I finally beat my own demons lol I wish you the best in life David 🙏🏼 :)

I've been sneaking alcohol in my lunch bag for months now, I put about a shot of vodka mixed into water bottles and squirt that flavor stuff in there. It's really good masking the smell I even drink it in front of my boss and he doesn't know but now it's getting out of hand. I used to drink 3 water bottles a day NOW it's 4 bottles and since we're working 10 hour shifts now I even carry a spare shot in my bag. I wouldn't do it if I wasn't gone from 6am to 7pm and my co-workers weren't so boring and barely speak English. It just makes my job just more tolerable but now it's like I get gastritis like once a week for a couple days it's killing me. I want to quit so bad.. pray for me you-all

I haven’t drank alcohol in almost 3 weeks, but I think about it almost every day. Edit, July 2nd 2024: A few weeks after writing this comment, I continued drinking throughout the year, and I realized a few months ago that I am an alcoholic. I have restarted my efforts to quit after a year of failure and lies. I have relapsed so many times, but one day I shall prosper.

I was a raging alcoholic junkie and I quit it all and now I can live. I was vomiting blood and I was shaking so badly that I couldn’t hold a pencil or button my buttons or do anything for myself. I detoxed in the hospital and the nurses treated me much better than I deserved. I’m crying thinking about it and writing this 6 years later. It’s no one else’s fault. You have to take responsibility for yourself and get clean for yourself. If you are doing it for other people it won’t last and you’ll end up worse than before you tried to stop. I wish you the best. I hope you have the support you need. Even though a person must make the changes for themselves, they need support from others. 12 steps is still statistically the most effective way for a person to get clean and sober. The drug abuse is only a symptom of the spiritual malady that keeps addicts and alcoholics(just a specific type of addict but an addict nonetheless) using the drugs they use and staying miserable. 12 steps and the rooms of Narcotics anonymous saved my life and people helped me to do what I could not do alone. May God bless you on this journey.

I also had to detox in hospital and they were great to me. I went into hepatic encephalopathy and went into alcoholic psychosis. Was in a coma for a week. Had to learn to walk, talk, read, and write again. It was a slow process. After 2 months in and out of the hospital was clean for 6 months then found out after I get sober the wife is now leaving so I said f it and went back. Now I'm at the point I know I'm going to die if I don't stop quickly now. But I'm scared from what I went through also scared they won't help me again that I did this to myself again so I have been trying to do it at home. It's scary ASF. One day at a time I guess wish me luck and I wish and pray for everyone else that is going through this. Ciroross sucks. Vitamin B1 and folic acid has been a good send but that's not a cure

Great little video and congrats on your sobriety! My best friend of 40 years died in 2022 due to alcoholism- and she was pretty good at hiding it as well. I'm so glad to see all of the comments here from newly (and not so newly) sober folks. She got sober the year before she passed and tbh I didn't even realize she'd gone back to it until it was too late to help in any significant way. They'd told her at rehab she was at risk for it if she went bk to the booze but she just didn't make it. She sadly passed of wet brain at just shy of 54. What a heart breaking loss it was for her family, me and so many others. Keep on keeping on folks, I for one am so happy you're still with us!

Hiding alcohol… I thought I was so slick with my alcohol hiding strategies until I went to AA and got a topical discussion on hiding booze. I hid booze in water bottles , drinking half pints as I rolled through car washes, toilet tanks… , dead drops about the house... wall hallows… furnace filters.. After I shared my story a man with a new liver told me he put vodka in his windshield washer tank and rerouted the flow to inside the vehicle cabin. He put a tube in his mouth and got a shot anytime he wanted. And that is when I knew I was alcoholic and I was lucky to be alive.

I had a major substanse abuse problem- sober almost 5 years!! Anyway I got GOOD at hiding things. Towards the end of my addiction my family was onto and would constantly try to search my bags. So I figured out how to make hidden pockets either in my bag or some of my clothes. But OMG a whole bottle!!!! It was so exhausting lying all the time. Addiction was my fulltime job so I lied 24/7 about everything. Where I was, what I was doing, the money I spent, even if I was eating enough/spending money on food. I'm so glad I never have to do that again!!! I've also noticed that alot of former/current addicts are super creative, I was an art major in college myself. So glad to see you channeling your energy into something productive & beautiful, lotsa love keep it goin!!! ❤️‍🩹

@@hellosoleil It’s hard to maintain a “normal” life if you’re an alcoholic, bc you tend to be irresponsible compared to the average person. It’s hard to hold down a full time job, pay necessary bills, and maintain some semblance of social functionality. Because you’re either drunk or hungover all the time. If you’re drunk, you run the risk of DUI, or never being able to go anywhere, and also all the terrible mistakes you can make while your inhibitions are lower, and if you’re hungover, you’re physically ill, which makes getting anything done almost impossible. So you end up cancelling plans with friends and family, you end up calling out of work, your living space usually becomes a disaster zone, and usually by the time most people in your life have figured out you have a problem, the problem is severe and requires a lot of professional help to fix.

I have alcoholic sensitivity. My dad was an alcoholic. I find that if I drink one, my body calls for another, then another, and then another and so on. I don't like the taste of alcohol but I like the taste of beer. Thankful I'm aware of this and only drink from time to time while out to eat with the family, and that helps. Other than that, I stay away from it. Congrats on your sobriety, sir ❤

31 years old here, finally got back to AA after being off the wagon for 8 months or so. And it's absolutely correct what I was told, not one person has ever came back into AA and said "eureka, I've found a better way to drink that doesn't bring all the mayhem"...It got worse for me, addiction in general wants to isolate you from everyone and everything. It got to the point that I was starting to drink vodka all by myself in my house when I was really a pub drinker. For the first time in all my adult life, I've actually had my face in my pillow asking god to help me in relieving this pain, and I wouldn't consider myself religious.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Not easy abstaining from alcohol. Even harder to get rid of the ism's. Difficult living with an Alcoholic and harder to live with a 'recovering ' Alcoholic. I still put vodka in water bottles, and pour a mouthwash bottle out and fill it up with voka or white rum and drop a bit of blue food colouring in , no one gussed that one, especially on short holidays . I also used to hide small plastic bottles in my make-up bag. Or after a party id use a spirit bottle so they thought it was still full but id switch it with water. Sober now i hope people look for thinks like this so they can help their partner get help, but please dont be mad at them ! Or they will hide it even more .

I used to hide my vodka in 2 travel-sized laundry detergent bottles that I had found. They were shaped like a flask and laid flat. I was addicted to weed as well. But I came to realize I was actually addicted to the nicotine in the cigars I was rolling. I never intended to quit, just wanted to smoke “healthier” so I started rolling papers. I thought, this is great. No guts to put in the trash (the amount of guts was so embarrassing) and papers are all natural. I unintentionally weaned myself off because papers don’t have nicotine. I haven’t smoked in months. In hindsight I can see the hold it had it on me. I couldn’t even sleep without smoking. Couldn’t make it through the day without smoking 3-4 blunts a day. I’m saving so much money a month, $700. I say all this to say, you can do it!! Good luck to you 😊

I've been sober for a long time, folks, and let me tell you, I've seen the benefits firsthand. People come up to me all the time, they say, "Donald, how do you do it?" And I say, "It's easy when you're the best at everything, including staying sober." So, being sober, it's fantastic, it's incredible, and it's making America great again, believe me.

Sending you strength. You got this. It was extremely difficult the first couple days, then very difficult up until the first week. Up until two weeks I still couldn't get it out of my mind. Then it started to ease up from there and I started to think about other things, by the 1-2 month mark, it had just become a whisper. 6 months sober now (longest ever in the last decade) and feel amazing, I'm literally more confident in social situations now as I'm not in a self-loathing, ashamed stupor. Only thing left now is... to get off the opioids. Did it before and have to do it again. Always had multiple demons around me.

Names Brandon. I'm an addict in recovery. I attend meetings, I have a support group and sponsor. Unfortunately that doesn't change being homeless, sleeping outside rain or shine, 100° or 0°. It doesn't change my past, how alone I am because of the people I have hurt. It doesn't change what seems like t endless cycle of other homeless people stealing my food, beating me while sleeping and being sexually assault. It doesn't change waking up everyday praying to stay sober, to eat and for no rain, praying to live and by 1 am, praying for God's mercy and the keys to get into heaven. I want to stay sober.. I want to liv, I want to see my kids again, I want to hug my dad, I want to be looked at as human again, not some bum washed up junkie who destroyed his own life with poor choices. I want to be b loved again, trusted. I want to live...

You just drink it half way then Pour in as much as you can preferably buy the smaller bottles of vodka and dispose of evidence No one ever suspected I was drinking. Then you can just pour your soda into a thermos and I’d drink it every where. At work, at church, at the doctors I had it in my bag everywhere I went.

Here's a genuine question I have: How do alcoholics even do it physically? I can go months without drinking, but when I do, I mostly go on benders, because I drink to battle axiety. However: I can't do it for long, because it just really messes up my intestines. I get reflux, heartburn and diarreah. So at some point, I will get sick to the stomach just smelling booze. How do you do this daily and not immediately get stopped by your own body?
