Dr. Lawson is definitely someone who could write with that style of pen and not be questioned about it. Thankful for this video and for men like him.

Having multiple paul letters beginning in the same format: “Paul apostle of Christ” would we have to expose this matter every time? Or how do we go about these? I know it can take a while before reading again verse 1 chapter 1! In the epistles. Any thoughts on these ? Thanks

In my preaching, I think of it this way: If Paul thought it necessary to mention His apostleship as often as he did, I probably should as well. A lot also depends on your congregation. Is it growing? Are people retaining the information? Did it take you 6-8 weeks to get through that book? Of so, repetition never hurts. If you have a regular influx of new people, it’s all new for them. I’ve often heard McArthur say it this way, “As you well know, Paul’s apostleship...” that way he reinforces what he wants to say, but assumes people already know it. Of course people listen that much closer because when we assume others should know something, they rise to the challenge. Try it sometime; you will almost certainly see people nod their heads in response. Blessings!

Does anyone know what Bible Dr. Lawson is using?
@keving.b4382 жыл бұрын
He uses the NASB. Dr. John MacArthur designed the NASB Preachers Bible which is a nice bible with a good size margin. I don't know if that is what Dr. Lawson uses.

Teaching the why is most important. The how is more attainable when the why is understood.

Maybe spend more time in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit for His intentions for me to preach? Less time in commentaries!
