Joyland & Britannia Pier Great Yarmouth Vlog July 2018

In this vlog I return to Great Yarmouth for a visit to Joyland, a small children's amusement park that opened on the sea front in 1949. I share on ride footage from all of the major attractions at the park including the Super Snails, Tyrolean Tub Twist, Spook Express and many more.
Along with visiting Joyland I also head on to Britannia Pier to explore the rides located at the end of the pier. I take a ride on the ghost train along with taking a look around the rest of pier before making my way up to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach.

I live in Norfolk so all of these parks like Joyland, pleasure wood hills and fantasy island are all very close to me so I visit these quite often and they are amazing!

I remember the first ride I've ever been on was the snails and is the oldest picture of me I can find and to see it still going strong after all this time is heart warming. Thanks for the nostalgia Shawn

It was a noahs ark on top before I've been going there since the 70s when I was a little girl . As my mum did before me . I've now taken my daughter on there to its kind of a family ritual . Great vlog thanks great memories. Xxxxx

I was there on holiday with my parents in 1984 when the rides were 10p, and even then that was really cheap! I'm happy to see it's not changed. Was lovely to see the snails I rode on with my mum and the tubs me and my dad went on. The "school of fish" always made me giggle on Neptunes Kingdom. The jet cars seem slower now, you always felt they were going to crash into the wall. 😂😂 Lovely memories of there. 💖💖

Absolutely loved joyland as we where there a couple of weeks ago. The park is amazing as it is very much like the tardis on Dr who small from the outside but packed full of rides on the inside. Total value for money 👌👍

I also love the snails, probably my most favorite ride ever. Brings back so many memories, I started riding the snails when I was 6 or 7 in 1977 it was so exciting, my grandparents used to take me and my brothers, and I remember the giant with the witch flying around his head I was so scared of it, my dad used to tell me if I was naughty he would throw me to him, I was shit scared

I went to Vauxhall Holiday Park every year from the age of 4-15 years old. Yarmouth was my childhood holiday and i'm going back on Sunday haha i'm 27 now but so many memories watching this

I live in Yarmouth and it has so many attractions and a lot of things to do . If I didn’t live here I would love to come on holiday , there’s always something to do when you’re bored ! It never fails to impress .

Great video, we were there last year in August, loved it so much I hadn’t been there since I was about 12, I’m 58 now and it brought back such a lot of good memories thank you so much for sharing.

My first coaster was the reel at BPB ,I was 11 yrs old and I remember the cars being massive and you had to put your arms behind you and hold on to the rail !!!!! The end bit was a highly banked figure of eight and then in to a tunnel all at high speed and really spinning like a waltzer,I really had to grip on for my life it was terrifying ,which I loved ,

Best footage I’ve ever seen of the Tub Twist. I was lucky enough to go on The Reel at Blackpool the year before they demolished it. It was an awesome and very rickety ride. What you don’t get from the videos on it on KZfaq is the final section when the ride dived into the tunnel. You were spinning really fast by that point and there were strobes in the dark tunnel which made it very psychedelic.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach's Virginia Reel ride wasn't located where Valhalla is now. It was located somewhere near to where the Arena building is now. The Funhouse used to stand where Valhalla currently is.

If you owned a theme park, I'd have an annual pass! 'Sanbrooke Land' with rides themed to Shawn including but not limited to, the 'Dry Hot Dog Coaster', the 'Sanbrooke Spin' and the 'Cue That Trommel Ghost Train' :'D P.S, Great vlog, Cant wait for the next episode of Lets Play Planet Coaster!

I was thinking the exact same thing! I know that parts were filmed on Blackpool's North Pier, with a supposed Ghost Train at the end of the pier which isn't there in real life, and this one looks exactly the same!

I went there a couple of times as a kid, I am now 64. I also remember the Jet cars being called The Racing Cars and then they went around in a complete circle. Also where the coaster is now was a Noah's Ark attraction which I used to love as a kid.

btw yesterday i went to alton towers so i probably was very late to the video because i got back at like half nine because it's a 3 hour drive there. I went on 11 rides but had to queue for like 70 mins on the wicker man and 60 minutes on the smiler like twice
