During the 2016 , BTS had many tough competitions from other groups who were from the BIG 3 companies. This moment was very shocking and memorable in the lives of BTS and ARMY

But I'll never forget how humble they're still now even after these much achievements. The armys who have supported them from the beginning are the real heroes to me and they must be proud of them now. ✨

I will never forget that night. The first daesang. None of us were expecting it and I was watching on this grainy livestream and I screamed and burst into tears when I saw them zoom in on the boys and realized they had won. I will never, ever forget how that felt.

With BTS being on “ vacation” it is so good to watch their earlier accomplishments, it helps us to never forget how hard they worked and the crap they had to put up with. At the same time, The Rise of Bangtan is so good for new ARMY to learn more about BTS. So fun though to watch these with two of my favorite reactors who I have been with since their beginning. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

This chapter was really emotional I can’t help but crying again. I just remember how much I was wishing and praying for their win and when they won, I couldn’t stop crying, I really felt and I’m still feeling so SO proud of Bangtan. 🥺 They worked so hard for this and specially ARMY and BTS had to go through a lot of sht at that time, when they won we felt like we all won, not just BTS, but also their producers, staff and fans. It was a memorable day were we all proved that even when the whole world was against us the Teamwork makes the dream work. As always, BTS only has army and army only has BTS. 💜

The group in the white sitting in front of BTS is a group under Pledis (which has been acquired by HYBE) called SEVENTEEN. BTS, EXO, and Seventeen were seen as the biggest boy groups in the third gen. BTS came up in the 3rd gen and back then there was a ton of competition, especially the Big 3 companies (SM, YG, and JYP). There are many iconic groups around this time so BTS winning despite not coming from a big 3 group or being the perfect idol image was a big deal. Keep in mind, BTS was considered very ragtag. The group was founded centering hip hop which was not a favored genre in Korea. BUT the important thing to remember about Kpop is that despite the industry, fans, and executive being weird it's meant to be togetherness. Idols have close friends in other groups, there is no animosity between them. Naturally people want their groups to be the best but I feel like sometimes people expect big 3 groups to be stuck up nasty people who hate BTS and they aren't like that. JK is close friends with several male idols from other companies and groups, same with Jimin, and all of the other members. Younger idols (4th gen groups) from those companies also look up to BTS and give them praise often. It's the media, executives, and toxic fans who create this idea that there's issues between the idols.

this episode was a rollercoaster of emotions. i was so happy seeing jin come out of his shell at this point, and his true silly personality was coming through! on the other hand, chim was going through so much in 2016 and it hurts to see him unhappy and self conscious :( i’m glad he’s at a much better and healthier place. confident jimin is the best jimin!

this era have such special place in my heart. this is the first era i was in as an army. and yes during this time, people didnt expect BTS to win the daesang. in 2016, BTS was really damn popular as we know, but the other groups have their achievements as well. the emotions i felt during this time. its just, i cant put it into words. i know BTS since 2014 but didnt become an army yet. i consider myself an army duirng fire era. to see them win this first daesang is just overwhelming. in a good way. also i need to clarify, i hope people not hating or getting angry about the fact that theres not many people mentioning BTS to win. we need to remember that during this time, BIG3 groups are the most popular group at the time. which is something that we need to respect as well. they worked hard too. but the feeling to see BTS won those daesangs, the pride in me. just bursts. ahahahhahah im here to stay until forever with BTS!

QOTD: Wings is my absolutely favorite! Everything about that era is a masterpiece. My fav track on wings or out of all solo songs is “Lie!!” Not only Jimin’s best solo but one of the best songs in BTS discography! Lie is just different it was ahead of it’s time. An incredible song from the lyrics to the production to the vocals… and Jimin’s moves reached the top of dancing. He’s a dance prodigy, a literal DANCE GOD!! Lie is music at its best!

The Wings era will always have a special place in my heart. Wings was my first comeback as a brand new baby ARMY. 💜 I didn’t even know all their names back then. That’s crazy to think about now. lol

This is the era where I became an ARMY & Blood,Sweat & Tears was the 1st song that I've listen from BTS 💜 cant believe I've been an ARMY for almost 6years since I've discovered the boys and I'm grateful for that♡~

i was at work during MAMA 2016, the chills i got from their performance and yep, to this day will be the best one because if the fact that they were able to produce such high quality of a performance given the fact that BigHit was still considerable a very small agency compared to those Big3 .. after this Wings era [my all time favorite] a lot of other groups have similar concepts and also had storylines added on their MVs just like what BigHit was doing ♥ i was crying while eating my lunch when they got the award and since then i had that day marked on my calendar ♥ Melon really started it, it gave the boost and confidence to other award shows to give the much deserved award to BTS regardless of the protests from other fandoms.

Actually, 2016 was a pretty competitive year for KPOP. BTS had just started to REALLY be considered proper sunbae-nims in the industry, EXO and TWICE had released chart topping hits (hence why the general public figured they were the most popular idol groups). It was incredible that somehow BTS rose to the top in such a tightly contested year. But obviously, with other groups performing so well and BTS having just winning daesangs out of nowhere, the antis that were upset their favs didn’t win turned their anger towards BTS and ARMY. Then came the accusations of MAMA giving them a charity award and blah blah blah.

This era will have a special corner in my heart ❤

After they've got the mma and mama grand prize in 2016 they were even more hated and slandered by the other two biggest fandoms, so many k armys were so hurt and left fandom😢😢

I am so glad the doc covered the change in Jin's image. I'm a pretty recent ARMY so I fell for his current effervescent self and it was a surprise to go back and see how quiet/formal he used to present. So glad he was able to spread his wings and show off his outstanding personality.

You said the Album of The Year is the biggest award, but (I think) it is the Artist of the year, that's because you can win it if u like are big, like big enough to win the album of the year. Being AOTY (Artist of the year) is the best thing for kpop groups/solo, that's why they were so emotional when they won, just like with the album of the year. I remember seeing one of bts member, saying that they were so happy of winning it because that meant people liked all the songs in the album and not just the title track, that in Wings is BS&T. I'm so sad and happy at the same time, I wish I met them since the start, but I'm happy and proud of what they have been all this years, and what they have archive:) idk why I became so emotional writing this lmao, it's just that this docu series make me so emotional

This was such an incredible time for BTS, finally seeing the results of their hard work. LIttle did they know what was to come lol As for Namjoon's fiery drink, it was meant to simulate the liquor absinthe. Back in the day the fancy way to prepare it was to put it in a special glass then soak a sugar cube in it, set it on a special device over the drink and then set it on fire. After a while you slowly drip water over the cube to melt it into the absinthe to dilute it and sweeten it at the same time. It used to be known to have somewhat halucinogenic properties because of the original way it was manufactured, which is why it was chosen to represent a 'dangerous temptation' in the mv.

Watching illegal streams from award shows and screaming with ARMY comrades in different countries in the middle of the night on our computers was our life for so many years. Once in Japan I screamed so loud when BTS won AOTY the neighbors called the cops. Another ARMY had that happen too. Try not speaking Japanese and trying to explain, it was hilarious!! New fans will never understand how intense those first years were and how hard ARMY had to fight for BTS and BTS for ARMY. there will never be another fandom like us, or another BTS.

The green liquor Joon was drinking is absinthe, I don't know if he is drinking the real deal? It's an highly potent alcohol (50 to 80 pct). You need to drink it in a certain way. You dip the sugar cube in the absinthe, or drizzle a bit of the liquor on the cube. You set the soaked cube over a glass of absinthe by using an absinthe spoon or similar utensil. Then you light the absinthe-soaked sugar cube on fire. Once the flame burns out, slowly drizzle very cold water over the cube so it drips into your glass of absinthe until it turns cloudy. I don't think, you really have to light in on fire, but it's a cool effect I guess. Back in the early 1900 absinthe was banned in some countries, because it contains thujon, which was thought to cause chronic brain damage with prolonged use. Absinthe is known to cause hallucinations along with intense euphoria and it can be toxic in high doses. It was actually banned in the US for about a 100 years.

Lastly, I remember a teacher had made a comparison with life and trees in that two people can be taught and grow together. In that we take the same path as in a trees trunk but, as we grow and take the lessons we learned we go our separate ways and take different paths in that we branch out to discover more of ourselves. But, as a whole with our similar and diverting paths we become one tree in the end.
