The Arctic Circle by BMW R1200 GS - Episode 1 - Great Missenden to the Oslo ferry: It's time for another TMF tour, this time my most adventurous to date! In this series I hook up with Motorrad Tours to ride my BMW R1200GS to the arctic circle via the brilliant motorcycling roads of Norway. In this first episode I prep the bike and make my way to Oslo via two ferries, the Netherlands and the German autobahns.....

I tuned in for the motorcycle ride but appreciate the brief history lesson and views of the bridge. You're right about the freedoms enjoyed by Europeans and westerners being a direct result of your grandfather's service. A heartfelt thank you to him and your family for your sacrifices.

What a great trip TMF! I cannot wait till the next episode airs on your channel! Very nice to see Kiel in your perspective from the GS. My wife and I were born and raised there. Although we already live now for 20 years in Munich we still miss the beach and the sea. Have a nice and safe journey, looking forward to the next episode.

Surreal to see things that I recognise in your videos, as I'm from a different part of the country. I drove to Denmark last year via north eastern Germany and the one thing I remember from the trip was lovely the show was in that big old ferry was after 13 hours of driving on the way back!

This was (- and still may be) on my bucket list; am liking your bike more and more, too! Lived in D for a few years...got my bike license there...and my Honda CB200, which I covered a gazillion miles on, including a winter trip to Blighty! Brrrrrrr! Ditto....that said, I am struggling with buying the Wet head or a used 1200 air/ oil. Thoughts? Has the wet-head been treating its owners ok, or are they fraught with problems like HD's? Thanks for the ride. Trying the best I could, I have never been able to make it to that side of the pond. About the heat.... Get you a Motoport Suit! Fantastic video & a lot of nostalgia for me as I used to work for Stena Line a couple of summers when I was a student, the second year I was even on that exact route on the HSS - can't believe the interiors of the ships and even the docks still look exactly the same more than 15 years later! But yeah, back to bikes lol. Cracking video, gonna save this series for when I get a chance to sit down and really enjoy it, thanks TMF!

What a great video and more to the point what a great tour TMF. Living in Australia the only time we need a passport is when we board an aircraft not when we travel on the bike . Your tour is one hell of an eye opener for myself down under even though my young brother did the trip up to Nordcapp back in the 80,s on his Laverda. I cannot wait till your next video , have fun and ride safe !!

I have done a day trip to Ypres the last couple of years and it definitely puts life in perspective and makes you feel appreciation for those that gave their lives so we can do these things ...

Nothing better than a TMF tour series, and the anticipation at the start of a humongous one is palpable. Nice glimpse of some new kit there. Looking forward to seeing what it is and how it performs. Can’t tell yet what it is, but I bet it was pricey! I’m guessing gore tex. Great start.
