At the end of the Pacific Rim: Uprising, we were teased about the plot of the Pacific Rim 3, which could unfold in the Anteverse. We're likely to see a global war with kaiju, and Guillermo Del Toro also hinted at a potential crossover with Godzilla, Kong, and the whole Monsterverse.

@@talon532I’m not Japanese and have watched dozens of Godzilla and a few Gamira movies. I never knew the word Kaiju or Jaeger till the Pacific Rim movies. Maybe because they didnt sound English and I was listening for the english words or only see the english words if the movie was subtitled instead of dubbed.

I'm (much) older and not so critical and 'spoiled' with today's tech (stop-motion b/w being my initial intro to "high-tech" sci-fi/fantasy movies, so...) to develop such nitpicky critiques of storylines. I just appreciate the action, special effects, sound engineering and music especially, etc. rather than continuity and divergence from previous movies. Just enjoy the movie put in front of you as it is... Although one caveat that pissed me off to no end... 'Highlander II'... only because of my Scottish heritage, the effect the original had on me and the lore the first one developed that the second one absolutely trashed... Aliens?? WTF???? "If it's not Scottish... it's CRRRRAP"

I am excited for a third movie but i wouldn't like a crossover between PR and MV, it would break the beautiful continuity these two universes have and make the characters' origins matter no more, so even though it would be cool to see Godzilla against Jaegers, i wouldn't do a crossover movie unless it's officially stated that it won't be canon for either universes' lore

I agree with MV_scientist. This would muck up the MV as saying the Precursers created Godzilla and Kong, that would ruin the MV. PR should be it's own universe as there is enough creativity in this concept that you shouldn't need to crossover these universes. I am one of those that think the second movie should have waited til Del Torro was available to do this and not hand the creative choices to someone that wanted to make there own vision and not continue with original concept through cinematography and combat. Plus MV would be a prequel and therefore saying PR was not an original concept.

If they do a crossover I hope it’s later on as I think there is so much more we need to see before they add pacific rim to monster verse, we need to see Godzilla fighting his classic enemies without help unless it’s from gamara or mothra, but I would like to see a crossover in future as I’m a fan of both

I think the creators in the breach would create a kauji to counter Godzilla and be better in every way, stronger, faster, more durable, more ability’s, stamina and endurance. If they do a crossover Godzilla will end up teaming up with the humans, yall Underestimating the creators, the reason they didn’t create kauji so heavy is because they didn’t need to.

The first movie was really pretty good. The cinematography was brilliant. The combat was amazing. We didn't get this kind of movie in Godzilla 2014. Which was a disappointment since both movies are from Legendary studios. I did enjoy the Netflix animated series. I would have liked to see that continue enough to wrap up the story

@@fazbear4smash ... I'm a huge Godzilla fan. I have watched every Godzilla movie since I was a kid in the 60s. There was always a story besides the monster battles. However many people complained about Godzilla 2014 because the battles were more of a background thing. Godzilla didn't really get that much screen time. Also that it was too dark. That is what people paid for. Thankfully the movies have really improved with more battles

As a big fan of the Pacific Rim movie, and not of the Power Rangers-like movie that bears only its name but none of its atmosphere, I'd appreciate it if a new movie achieves to captivate the strengths of Pacific Rim that the new movie is called Pacific Rim 2. I'm a fan of both series, but if they're going to mesh them then I'm all for it. They just better put there everything into it. Monsterverse is more important to me as a lifelong Godzilla fan so I don't want the Pacific Rim series holding it back.

Guys don’t worry, there will be a reboot about this. After the war on earth many years later scientists find out there is a whole kingdom of them on a whole different planet. They had thought they put and end to it all, but somehow someway the kaiju figured out how to live in different universes. They would send someone down there in a jaeger but people believe it won’t work. Then all the sudden *crumble* the jaeger had been destroyed. They looked around a figure out what happened, there were kaiju guards. Not that the pilots couldn’t breathe but the guard kaiju still destroyed the jaeger. This makes them curious. The scientist said they could make a jaeger sealed but it will take years. They had discovered this in 2045 (10 years after uprising) 2060 comes (15 years later) they finally start building the jaeger (they started on a rogue one for testing) and failed. Along comes 2065 they had a jaeger. They are happy and they build multiple. Finally by 2070 they have 7 jaegers. They get people that are ready to do it and train them for a year. Time has come, the time to bring the war to kaiju. They get all of their skilled jaegers and send them through the portal. The people fought hard and finally killed the level 3 kaiju. They make it down in the plant and find that the kaiju levels go all the way up to 35. They are terrified. They run out of there as fast as they can, they fix there jaeger. And wait for the right time to fight them *I WILL CONTINUE AT 100 LIKES*

pacific rim is the perfect adoption for teens and adult movie, you dont understand how important this film is. The two movies are amazing, incredible amazing, nothing to envy to the DC or Avengers. Impressive immersion. You need more commercial of both films, because are really, really great movies, rising the amazing of all times!. Believe it. I think joining the two universes would ruin the Godzilla universe in my opinion. Either way one of the universes would have to be sacrificed. I can't see the big G MAN, playing backup to Yeager's. Godzilla would project being the top dog!

let's be honest, jaegers aren't gonna put a scratch on godzilla. but it will be fun to see what ideas they can come up with to make it a fair fight. I personally like the idea of Apex-Cybernetics modifying the jaegers with hollow earth energy making them way more powerful then they can give Godzilla a good fight like Mecha Godzilla.

I dont know. Some of the category 5s seem bigger and more menacing than Godzilla. Just because they can be hurt by smaller Jaegers, is no reason to assume the kaiju are weak. Maybe the Jeagers are far more powerful than we give them credit with their atomic hearts.

@@Whaleydavey Size-wise, there are Kaiju that rival Godzilla that's true, but he's much heavier and lifts way harder. He's also more durable. He survived a fall from the the sky whereas the super Kaiju and eats nukes for breakfast. Godzilla would pulverize the Pacific Rimverse.

My favourite thing about the second movie was the Hybrid Jeagers (including Obsidian Fury) and I’d like to see more of that, but I know that’s unlikely so I won’t be disappointed if they forget or completely ignore it in the next movie…

When I saw the original Pacific Rim movie, I said to everyone that in my mind it was EVERYTHING that a Godzilla movie "should" have been. It preceded the Godzilla 2014 movie and its successors, and I still think Pacific Rim is superior (even though King of the Monsters was finally more of what I was looking for). If Guillermo del Toro can repeat the magic, feeling, and realism of the first Pacific Rim movie this next round, then he will once again prove himself the genius that he truly is at movie-making and story-telling.

I really enjoyed these cinematic movies. I would like to see a 3 and 4. Maybe merge with the monsters from monster verse as well since they are coming from below the ground and oceans as well
