@@gaiusx287 He disrespects every other style every time he calls Miyagi-do "real karate" There are other schools in the valley beyond Cobra Kai. Saying that the defense style of Miyagi is real and aggressive styles are wrong is saying anything that diverges from how he's taught isn't real karate. Its the same concept as when he manipulated the landlord to try and raise Johnny's rent but it affected the entire strip mall. Daniel may have a specific target in mind when he says it, but he disrespects other people by the words he chooses. The second part of your question makes no sense. I said nothing about one being worse than the other. I never even mentioned Sam. Just because I'm talking about a specific scene that they talked about in the reaction doesn't mean I suddenly dismiss another. That's called a whataboutism. I pointed out that there was a significance in what Daniel did and he should have asked before doing it, but because he doesn't respect Johnny it didn't even cross his mind. But just to address it, Lupa and Roshi did a good enough job pointing out why Johnny's training was a bad idea, There was no need for me to say anything about jumping between because it was covered in the review. They seemed to not understand why Johnny was upset so I pointed out why he likely was and the attitude that Daniel has I believe led to the situation.

He’s just petty like Daniel. There are many reasons as for why Daniel is dismissive towards Johnny but a lot of it has to do with pettiness and it goes both ways. Notice how often Johnny remarks his karate as real men karate showing the same kind of disrespect. They’re the same.

@@The_dunkman I think this season was mostly a set up for Miguel's arc in season 5. He was hurt by the fact that they needed to develop Kenny's character as well as add development for Robby, Sam, Tory, and Hawk. So I wouldn't worry about Miguel too much right now, but I agree this was probably his weakest season.

Once again, we saw it was Robby that had to take that step, it’s not a one way street, Robby needs to put that effort in too

When you are separated and the kid is a teen and doesn't want anything to do with you there isn't much you can do even in court when your an older teenager you can say you don't want anything to do with a parent. You can't make someone that wants nothing to do with you listen and get close with you. He told the mom he can live with him he'd make him go to school. He tried to protect his son when him and Sam got drunk. Plus took him in when it blew up. Im sure that would bother many. Miles is already an Afro-Latino character and he speaks Spanish, having him be accurate to the character in the comics isn’t asking for much. As a big production I also feel they’d want someone that sounds like they speak the second most spoken language in the US (4th most common in the world). And though vocal coaches do a great job at making someone sound like they speak a language, they generally don’t sound anything close to a native speaker. It’s funny but the one thing that takes me out of a movie (no matter how crazy the premise) is hearing bad Spanish from someone who is supposed to have grown up speaking it. I know that’s the same for a lot of people who’s first languages are spoken badly in other films.

The main problem in films now is their writing and the writing and production should come first rather than proper casting and the actor's portrayal of their character. I mean, just look at the Witcher, the casting was way off, yet their acting was fine but the writing was just missing the target and it's shit for people who loves the franchise. Sure proper speaking of language and the actor's appearance fitting the character is important, but if they fit exactly well then that is just a bonus when it comes to actually liking the film. I think he understands that not everything in life is made better by money. His stepdad had money and he treated Johnny (and his mom) like crap and raised him how you expect a typical toxic person would. The guy made fun of things that Johnny was into and if he just became a typical worker drone with a 9-5 he would probably be miserable. Johnny ended up on a path that was full of bad decisions and negligence, but seeing as how he realizes how he should be acting and how he has aspirations and motivation again, it might prove better. He just has to work on himself a bit more and stop being so hotheaded.

I really wish Sam had called him out on that. The conversation she had with Robby was clearly in her head during this argument. "That's the problem with you Johnny. It's always about what you want, what you need.
