Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

I watched the Netflix show and I can see how much toll this has taken on her mental health and not in a great way. No one even treats her like she is part of the sisterhood. I am glad she doesn't have to do this anymore and can find another path.

one thing i loved about victoria is that she ALWAYS smiled. she gets sad and smiles. she gets awkward and smiles. she gets frustrated and smiles. victoria has a loving smile naturally

People that always smile, especially when it's inappropriate to do so are creepy and make me nervous, it's not an endearing quality , it indicates insecurity and immaturity, she's lovely and young!!!! She has ample time to fix this nervous personality flaw, it won't serve her well at all out in the professional, adult world

But then, one year nearly to the day later, she got to tell her mom she made the team-and show her parents not only her photo, her locker, but her in uniform; even her mom pointed out the differences a year had made....time to celebrate!!

She came back with a tighter physique, a more polished solo routine, and a much more mature and articulate attitude. She went from a little girl who didn’t know what to say during media day to outshining Meredith, who’s 8 years older than her and should have been sharper during interviews.

It's not that she was fat...it's just that she was heavier than originally and it was obviously something that affected her both mentally and physically. She was starting to doubt herself and you could tell. I am so happy she worked on herself and her confidence and came back stronger than ever.

She definitely wasn’t ready her first year but she came back and killed it! I think Kelli and Judy knew early into training camp that she wasn’t going to make it but kept her around so she could gain more experience. I don’t know why she gets so much hate there’s no denying that she is talented.

I think the only reason she got so much hate was because she was a legacy. I believe everyone acknowledges she wasn't ready her first year and believe she was kept around solely because she was a legacy. But I don't see how people can hate her after watching her second year of training camp because she definitely won that spot. She was so bright, improved a ton, and was one of the best rookies.

She gets hate because of all of the nepotism shown towards her. Not being cut for lying to Jinelle, Kelli, & Judy... getting show group over clearly better technical dancers... even the fact she gets a episode length video dedicated to her; while Kashara gets 8 minutes, people will view as favoritism; and honestly, while I like her it's pretty difficult to say she doesn't get special treatment.

coro4ever It seems that they always keep one girl that’s not ready. They kept Malena and even let her quit her job when she was clearly not ready for the squad. Victoria was way too immature her first year. It’s amazing how much she grew the second year!

The way she handled getting cut and telling them it’s okay because she knew they where hurting having to make the cut was very mature of her. It was the best thing for her because she was hands down one of my favorites

And in the ballet industry, they happily endorse "under-weightness", till your bones stick out of your skin. Brutal. You have to have the right DNA and body type, and loads of self discipline, to succeed in the dance world. Good luck to all you ladies. You are all phenomenal. True athletes and artists, all in one! @@bulansalya1950 I don’t think it was over a year. They said she’d gained 11 pounds since auditions. So based on training camp only being about 2 to 3 months, her gaining 11 pounds in a few months I’m sure seemed alarming to them. She was in no way overweight and yes she is absolutely beautiful, but they probably didn’t want her to continue to gain weight so rapidly. It also probably seemed like something else may have been going on with her mentally, because she did seem so stressed. I think with how much Kelly and Judy seemed to love her, it was more out of love than trying to put her down. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong about any of this, it’s just my 2 cents

I understand they need to build core strength as a athlete if its effecting your performance, but there is nothing wrong with the appearance of her stomach. I think our society needs to learn that. They dont tell men those vain comments in any sport. !

You see them tell so many girls that they aren’t ready for the team and yet they didn’t tell Meredith that. She is a beautiful dancer and performer, but she was not ready for the team this year. She would have been outstanding on next year’s team. She wasn’t ready this year.

One word EDITING, They need a story, and they can't have "drama" so they made a story about Meredith, because she is actually a fucking star and they wanted to feature her on camera as much as possible, the production team have HOURS and hours of footage ,they can literally edit you into whatever character they want

@@bellablow4287 I never said anything negative about Meredith. I know they have to edit to make a story out of it. They do it every year to someone. I never said she was bad, I said she had some struggles, which is fine, everyone has those and look at her now, she made the team. I actually don't think shes bad, but no one knows what actually happened during the season other than what we all saw during the season, that's all I was saying that based off last season I was just curious if she actually was making that many mistakes or wasn't and the mistakes were all the cameras were catching, my guess is they won't have the camera as much on her this season and it'll be whoever elses turn in the camera.

It dosent surprise me she didn’t make it her first year, she was only a senior in highschool. No ones mature enough yet to have such a high duty. She just didn’t think enough yet about what she was saying, but she’s grown so much.

I really enjoyed Victoria’s journey- my favorite compilation so far and she wasn’t my favorite , initially. My impression of her was that she was obnoxious, I didn’t realise she was nervous and insecure. Kelli dispelled any accusation of bias as she was ( brutally?) honest with Victoria during her critiques. Victoria returned so sharp .dedicated and ...likeable!

That young woman walked into the room *with abs* and they had the nerve to tell her that there was ANYTHING AT ALL about her body that didn't meet the most rigid standards of beauty. She had just danced for hours and they had the nerve to talk about her "fitness." Incredible.

I love success stories. Victoria took the time and worked her butt off and came back better and stronger than ever. She didn’t moan about it, she took everything they said and came back a winner.

It breaks my heart to see her now in the netflix show. Being a DCC was obviously hurting her. We don’t know what went on to make her feel this way, whether she did not get on with the girls and the management saw that and did not put her at par with her peers. She was probably looking at her co-rookies Kelcey and Chandi who got leaderships thinking why aren’t I up there? I have years under my belt. It was clear she felt unseen and passed over, whether this was deserved or not we don’t know. But it hurts to see her smile through her pain. Now she sees her dreams were very different from her reality. I hope she finds happiness in NY because she deserves it.

I’ve watched the show since season 1 and I can really only think of 3 vets cut in training camp, Chelsea, Tara, and Hannah (there may have been more, but these are the only ones I remember). They seem to cut more from finals. I think one season they cut like 5 vets during finals.

No. There have been numerous vets cut either in TC or the final audition before TC. Colin Julia, Breelan, Kali and Teri Lynn come to mind.

Keyra, Kaitlin, Gabby, Ashley Michelle and Alyssa Torres (Ashton's sister) too...and Holly was pretty much cut, even though she technically "resigned"...Erica was released from the team also...

Its sad to think after this and watching the Netflix show that, she still wanted Validation from them Ladies (mom included) and didn't really focus on herself and have fun! All the pressure to be a DCC when your mom was but, you made it sis! You should have enjoyed this time! But glad you decided to quit and best wishes in the future!

The absolute epitome of a comeback story 👏🏼👏🏼 I loved her story and her journey, and seeing her mature and take it all in stride was inspiring and beautiful. So proud of her and one of the major reasons I love watching this show 🎉🤍

Honestly I relate to Victoria. I've always been filled with nervous energy that's overspilling at times but it's because I'm just really passionate. It's so great to see she has really grown into herself and calmed (?) down when need be. I do hope I will be like her one day.

I think their proportions are slightly different actually. Like Kelli said, Victoria's legs are really slim and long which made her stomach look more obvious, whereas KaShara is curvier all around so she looks more in proportion.

Victoria's weight was going upwards rather than remaining the same or losing weight. This would have been an issue in the long run.

Kashara was bigger than the other girls but I never saw anything jiggling. Victoria’s tummy did jiggle.

Victoria is my favorite dcc, she has really grown on my watching her since her first tryout year. i adore her sweet personality and drive! i know if she continues at this rate i hope she is a group leader in the future

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE and adore victoria not only because shes a really powerful dancer but the fact she actually has PERSONALITY unlike the other DCCs, I just hate the fact that she had to get sooo skinny. shes looks better with a little weight on her.

I’d forgotten what Victoria was like the first season she was on. It’s amazing the maturity and confidence difference! She really worked and improved and came out the second time around

i always liked Victoria. so what she was a little immature. who cares, she was like 18-19. she is supposed to be a kid. not be a dcc and turn into a middle aged lady. she is super talented, and has earned everything she has gotten!

@@michelemichele5204 She's an adult. Having an opinion doesn't make you jealous, it's just an opinion. It certainly was not a personal attack on you so your attack on me is inappropriate and strange. That said, I think the "DCC look" ages a lot of their dancers because of the spray tan and fake eyelashes. It looks especially bad on Victoria because it's way overdone. She'd be much prettier if all of that was toned way down.

If you see Victoria without makeup she is very young ... it amazes me how different some girls looks without the DCC makeup on ... sorry if that hurt your feelings

dayton is super cute, but weirdly morose....sad looking all the time. something is not right there? she is always monotone. maybe she doesnt want to be a dcc, and has pressure cuz her mom was one. i hope she gets what she wants, because watching her get cut was just brutal. i bawled my eyes out. poor baby. she can be whatever she wants to be. i hope she is happy. i would love to see her doing something that can allow her to laugh out loud every single day! she is too young to be having the weight of the world on her shoulders!

No they kept Briana season 12 way longer than they should because she was pretty .... Kalli Fulterton season 1 and 6 ... she did not get one vote from the panel only Judi and Kelli they passed over others that received more votes

She is one of my favorite comeback kids. Her Maddie and Meridith all took their constructive criticism and worked so hard the whole year and came back so much more prepared, more mature and ready to take on the tryouts and training camp by storm. Congratulations Victoria, Maddie and Meridith. You girls are so amazing. I love watching y'all grow and perform. I love my 2 sons but I would have loved having a little girl. So I live my dream of having a girl that loves dance, cheer and gymnastics and is smart sweet and hard working, vicariously through these beautiful talented women, lol. Thanks DCC for putting this show together for everyone to watch and enjoy.

@Joy Thomas That is so true, a few seasons back they cut Hannah due her weight gain. It showed at auditions but they brought her into camp she seriously needed Jay's help because she couldn't even fit into her uniform anymore. That's why they went from yes, no, or maybe for vets to yes or no at auditions/finals.

They tell you in training camp that you have to stay at your audition weight, and she gained 11 pounds . I’m surprised they didn’t cut her sooner, they cut other girls for it very quickly.

I really like Victoria she’s always been a sweetheart and sometimes she can seem older than who she is. Even though she does know the judges it didn’t seem like she needed their help to get in. I’m so proud of her going in as a high school senior. Now you can see how strong of a dancer she is.

I loved it ! How inspirational! I felt so bad for her. I would be so stressed out to be called back over & over again especially on a sensitive topic like your weight. But each time she kept that smile on her face ! I’m so proud she did great ! They get paid $12 an hour and minimum wage in Texas is about $7. They also offer them a free gym membership and nutritionist at Cowboys Fit.

I just watched the new serie on Netflix and she ends up getting an ED ... She had to take a year break to get better and you can see she's not passionate with this anymore.. they really destroyed her

You can tell at the beginning, Victoria was so excited and motivated to finally be on the DCC. The new documentary shows how much of a toxic work environment it is for women that struggle with ED. Not only that, but I think Kelly and Judy were too hard on her bc they didn’t want people to think she just got on the team bc her Mom used to be on the team and was best friends with Kelly. I’m so happy that she finally left! She is a leader and an amazing dancer. Kelly and Judy seem so fake, and talked down to her constantly. It’s no wonder she couldn’t take it anymore.
