I leave my Narrowboat & tranquility of the Macclesfield canal to venture into the outside world [46]

In this weeks video I cruise my narrowboat to Bollington on the Macclesfield canal. I practise my drone flying and take my Brompton folding bike for a spin. I also attempt to use Northern Rail to catch 2 trains to visit my mum on mothers day but unfortunately due to terrible service both trains were cancelled and I embark on a journey from hell which ends with me spending 2 hours on a very smelly bus!

I like that the hinges on the cupboards behind you match the wood. I notice goofy stuff like that. Your boat is so beautiful and so comfortable. Excellent boat handling, so many people here in the USA bang into the shore or the dock or the pier or wherever. Slow down! When I bought my first boat, my friend David said "don't go any faster than you want to hit something." Great advice. Wow, cruising Ireland. I know I'm still way behind in your videos, but I hope you get over there. Love the history you share with us. Passed your test! YAY! thanks for wearing the Ukraine button. Great drone footage. What a bloody palava with the trains. I've just deleted a load of footage I filmed in bloody slow motion and it was important lock footage. Ffs. Just finished the Huddersfield narrow. I'm never going back to that shit canal. Stunning scenery but the canal itself. People turned back, the boat behind me got stuck every day. I did it on my own without calling CRT. whey hey Mrs Pirate. Great vlog.

Here she is our lovely Heidi right on time and I'm all behind like Browns Cows .Had a blood test this morning, just got my INR numbers ...that's International and National Rum level and its right on the money *L*.........actually coz I'm on Wafarin I have to get my blood tested quite frequently .So you're now a fully qualified pilot, congratulations I'll look for you on my next British Airways flight...do you have to fill it with water like your boat...cassete or compost? Loved the visit to your folks despite the tortuous journey, what a pretty house.. Now I'd better check your fridge Take care Heidi darlin ,luv to Jacki too and of course first mate Pud XXX

Love your videos and witty comments. You always seem to be upbeat no matter the situation. Your drone will add a new perspective to your videos. I have been flying them for several years and get such enjoyment from them. One impotant tip; always keep your eye on the battery percentage so as not to run out when to far away to return home. Bottoms up.

That was a brilliant action packed video. How lovely to meet friends and fellow canal traders in the pub. Another example of just how wonderful the canal community are. Having missed out mooring in Macclesfield, the cruise to beautiful Bollington and its aquaduct was superb. Congratulations on passing all the tests to enable you to fly your drone. The practise flight was brilliant and the shots above the canal gave a completely different prospective of the canal itself. What a feasco getting to your Mums. Cancelled trains, taxi journey with a starnge lady and a smelly bus journey - Wow! That's dedication for you. Thanks for taking me along - wouldn't have missed it for the world. Stay safe please

We moored on almost exactly the same spot on the Bollington Aqueduct a few years back and went to the Bollington Beer Festival. I don't really remember the walk back to the boat...

Stiff ripples sounds like .........a recipe for meringue. Just add whipped cream and a tot or two for rum with a cherry on top. You could call it a Heidi Hi. Maybe you need to come up with a cocktail recipe book? Could be an international best seller with a free badge. You never know where the next best idea is going to come from until then carry on cruising. 😂

Great first flight and drone footage, well done on the exams. Shame about the train cancellations but typical, nightmare trip for mothers day, but you got there in the end. Another fantastic video 😁🎬
