@@OK-hi5ym More like the mom and dad watched this movie and deluded themselves into thinking their adopted child was a real life Esther. The real life girl is simply a victim of her stupid adoptive parents. Hope they get what they deserve, which is prison time for neglect and abuse of a minor.

@LadyAluucard
@LadyAluucard 4 жыл бұрын
@@OK-hi5ym Yes I do know the details. Do you? Show me one little bit of prove for any part of their story. You wont find anything as there IS no evidence, its all just alleged storys, and no I am not gonna trust the familys word on anything if there is no proof. And sorry, but Im not gonna take "she looks creepy / sounds older" as evidence either. The one testimony I trust above the Barnetts or Natalias herself is the one of the previous family she was with that came forward. There is also the fact that she has clearly grown and even more importantly that she has regrown teeth. An adult doesnt randomly regrow front teeth. At what age do children typically loose their front teeth? At about 5-6 years old. I've never seen anyone trying to explain this. How did she do that? Is she actually a shark? *gasp* Im talking about this family by the way, not the one she is with now: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g9F2aqqKmbGag3U.html

This movie terrified me as a child. As someone who didn't have good understanding of english back then I thought she was an actual child, and not a person suffering from dwarfism. So it scared me even more. I know it sounds stupid, but the concept of a child murdering their family freaks me out

@@krackenweirdolonor8966 I mean, to be fair, the whole crashing a car with their child thing in it because she was drunk or whatever, and I'm guessing several similar but not as severe events having happened previously (I don't remember, been forever since I've seen the movie) and things of that nature would kind of ruin any sense of trust. I mean, aren't they on the verge of divorce or something in this movie? I think not immediately trusting her is at least a little fair. That's just my two cents though, from what I vaguely remember of this movie.

@@janedoex1398 Not the dwarfism, but the bones will have fused over time. Children have space for their bones to grow, called epiphysial plates. Once someone stops growing, the plates fuse. @BlueGangsta1958
@BlueGangsta1958 4 жыл бұрын
@@xakirax_8864 Well I personally suck at it, but if you´re a doctor you are trained to interpret x-rays and if you have trouble you´re going to ask the resident radiologist. Google is massively unhelpful with comparative images so I pulled up two unrelated x-rays, one of a child one year older than Esther supposedly is www.researchgate.net/figure/Frontal-radiograph-of-the-left-wrist-in-a-10-year-old-boy-shows-a-buckle-fracture-arrow_fig4_260716406 and one of an adult en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colles%27_fracture You can see that the space between the carpals and at the end of the radius and ulna fuses together. The forearm is actually the part of the body that is usually used to measure the age of the bones: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3955574/ There is also the fact that children rarely have complete fractures in the long hollow bones because their bones are more flexible. If you broke your arm or your leg as a child, you probably had what´s called a greenstick fracture - the bone bent at one side, splintered at the other and the bone skin was at least partially intact. The force needed to completely break a childs bone are intense.

What I found suspicious about the character John (the father) he kept defending Esther and lived in complete denial of her actions, even if Esther would have succeeded on seducing John it may probably look like pedophilia on the surface, but since Esther has a hormone disorder and proportional Dwarfism, plus Esther is in her early thirties, it probably would not made much of a difference, but unfortunately for Esther since she looks like a little girl in her facial and physical appearance, men that she loves would turn her down for those reasons, but what is surprising is that Esther didn't reveal to John who she truly is and her health condition.

10:20 oh God! I was worried while watching this review how... far this was going to go with it's twist, I don't think I'd have been able to handle watching this without knowing the twist beforehand. I'm also glad this review is how I've kinda "seen" the film, some lighthearted commentary is definitely needed in a film like this.

*Funfact* this movie was based on a true story but in real life the family that accidentally adopted the 35 year old went to jail for child neglect because they were unable to prove she was 35 at the time even with her violent crimes

@the jack The Bad Seed came out in 1956 and is a black and white film..not my normal preference, but the girl who plays the "bad seed" is honestly nightmare fuel, lol Edit: Looks like there was a remake done in 2018...by Lifetime with Rob Lowe, looks like the murdered the classic..shame :-(

In real life: As you point out....suspiciously, a year after this movie came out, Kristine and Michael Barnet agreed to the emergency adoption of Ukrainian-born Natalia Grace in May 2010 and were told she was 6. Soon after, they claimed their 'daughter' was found to be a 22-year old 'sociopath little person, with Panhypopituitarism, masquerading as a child... I think they saw this movie and made it up.

Anybody can be a villain in America. I mean hell that shrink showed all of America that nice talk to kids don't help make respectful kids. This internet has just ruined kids and families across the world.
