I absolutely love Lady Etheral’s story. She is by far one of the most tragic characters. Whoever did her story boarding and writing is a genius. The unsettling vibe as the player sees how warped the dreamscape is, the slow descent to madness form her coworkers with each phase, the funeral pictures, the crying sprites of Ethereal, that gut-wrenching scene were she begs for someone to punish her for her sins, all to accumulate into the reveal. 30 days. 30 days is all it took for them to lose their grip on reality and turn into the hostile, unstable people who eventually could no longer withstand living in this world. 30 days is all it took to completely shatter Lady Ethereal and her hopes for Penglai’s salvation. At the end, it sucks to know her brain is still there so even though her body has disappeared due to the Tianhuo disease, her brain will be connected and alive forever. Unless Yi gave her the rest she deserved at the ending.

You can tell these guys are REALLY comfortable making creepy artwork with how great that horror segment is.

Lady Ethereals boss music alone makes this so epic.. legitimately an all time boss track. It took me at least 30 attempts and I loved every single one of them. So, so good

Lady Ethereal is easily one of the best fights in this game, and the build up to the fight with the world slowly getting more distorted is perfect.

Lady Ethereal's fight is my favorite part of the game. I'm happy to see people outside Taiwan enjoy it, too💕. If you don't mind, I would like to share the symbolic meaning behind the game. Lady Ethereal's Mandarin name '蚨蝶' means 'butterfly,' and in our culture, butterflies are sometimes associated with dreams or the mind. So, I think that's why a cocoon came out from her head, as she became an AI. The scene setup before we enter the spring scene is actually similar to our funerals, and the computer below the brain is exactly like our gravestone. If a person steps into the grave without permission, the creepy things will happen. Hope you like my explanation.

You showed me this game 2 years ago. I wishlisted it immediately, then forgot about it till it came out. And i haven't played another game since. 25 hours of exploring, collecting and just enjoying the beauty that is Nine Sols. Amazing vid myth

There is a way to know if you've given them all iirc. Yi plays 3 games of Qiakung (I think thats how you say it?) with Shuanshuan if you can play the 3rd game then you know you have given all the gifts or at least enough gifts to trigger the true ending. (It's unclear if it's all gifts or just a certain amount at this point since the game is so new but you do need to give him a certain amulet or bad things will happen) If you are unsure of the reqs like everyone else the safest way to guarantee it is to just 100% the map when it comes to items . It's what I did and while it will take some time it's very doable with about 3-5 extra hours of playtime, since if you're looking around while you go through the rooms the first time you likely will have already gotten most of the collectibles in them and moving around is much faster later then it is earlier.
