Rewatching Sons for probably the 100th time from the beginning. Not really exaggerating. :) Having this podcast to listen to and reference after each episode has been so amazing. I agree with you guys this is one of the best all time SOA episodes. For me it represents everything that makes SOA great. Also, I LOVE Jax and Tara's love story and this is a hugely important episode for them and their overall story. I am soooooo happy you guys decided to do this and it seems like perfect timing. Enough time has passed that hearing everyone reflect back on their experiences has been so satisfying for day 1 fans like me.

I just found you a couple days ago. Rewatching sons currently, i decided to go looking for some deep dive stuff (most of the sons-related stuff on yt is short red carpet interviews and such), only to find you guys, who played a couple of my favorite characters*, doing exactly that. *to be fair, i would say the same to any of the other actors from sons. You were /all/ amazing, and brought the world a truly great show! Thank you for doing that, and this!

Freud was a proponent of a concept known as “todestrieb”, which roughly translates to “death drive” in English, which he suggested was constantly at odds with “Eros”, a concept originating in Platonic/Socratic Greek philosophy that refers specifically to *sexual love*. The idea is to maintain a balance between the two, having neither in excess or deficiency (which Aristotle called the “Golden Mean”), whilst being aware that the two concepts are inextricably entwined, and can routinely provoke one other. In The Selfish Gene, Richard Dawkins proposes that our entire existence can be reduced to one universal goal: to conquer death and attain (to some degree) immortality. Yessss we would love love love to see the story of Tara and Jax in their high school days. In how they got together and when they noticed each other as they both were born and raised in charming. Weird/random question, if they were able to talk to each other for the the not recorded part, wouldn’t the not recording snaphew be on Theo’s end? You would think the more tech savvy person would handle recording and all the other stuff. Agent 644 just has to make sure Theo can see him.... but I love the show and your mantra is “who cares!!”

There is definitely a volume difference between the two of you, by the way (I know, I know "Who cares?"). Kim is much louder than Theo. I just turn up the volume until I can hear Theo properly and deal with extra loud Kim...No big deal. But I can see how it might be annoying to someone wearing headphones while watching/listening, especially when Kim laughs (It's extra, extra loud). But I don't think the problem is the equipment or how close you sit to the mic, I think Theo just talks more quietly than Kim does. Maybe there's a sound setting in the recording that could equalize the volumes, but that seems like extra tech stuff to potentially break.

JT's journal is subtitled How The Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way- so, no Bros, it probably didn't contain a lotta yucks. Remember...Just before Jax kills him, Jury says that JT had written some sort of book that had it ever got out would have destroyed the Sons...& the last we see of JT's manuscript is when Jax burns it along w/ the little notebooks Jax had been keeping...

If you do an episode about ethics, I'd love you to have someone who's done a lot of British TV on as well because the differences are stark. You can't show the same physical violence in the UK but you can show more nudity than the US, so I'm so intrigued as to what that's all about.

The thing that gets me, I am sure that Outrageous Fortune in New Zealand was on at the same time as SOA! And they were allowed to have eeeeeverything. As long as it was on after 9pm it was free reign 😅 I’ve always been surprised by the amount of violence allowed in American shows, but not allowed to swear, yet in New Zealand, even our radio hosts are allowed to swear on air during the day now 😂 (within reason of course, don’t think they’ll ever be allowed to say cunt on air)
