One of my favs this year...good luck Austria
@TheManInBlueFlames2 жыл бұрын
This will DEFINITELY stand out amongst all those slower songs and ballads this year! If Pia can pull her vocals off, this could be a top 5 entry! Already better than most Austrian entries!
@freemangriffin49532 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will qualify - we'll know in May!
@EmoBearRights2 жыл бұрын
@@freemangriffin4953 It probably will as my least fav last year did. Juries will kill any chance it has of doing well though - just like they did with my least fav last year that's why I don't entirely object to juries.
@EmoBearRights2 жыл бұрын
It's funny because I'm the weird kid who thinks Austrian entries are quite often really underated. I actually quite liked the Makemakes and Nathan Trent and thought Paenda was ok - not a popular opinion I know. I don't like this sort of tinny sounded clubby bop.
@sav00012 жыл бұрын
@@EmoBearRights I don't see why juries would kill it off if it's sung and staged well as the song is very well produced. They scored JOWST high in 2017 which was also a DJ and singer act.

@@sav0001 Fair enough. It'll win now, won't it. Never mind some you lose I guess.

Solid, solid entry from Austria and as you said, it will stand out like a sun in a sea of slower ballads. Hope they can pull this off live with good staging. 12 points from Sweden!

The song is really fun ! I find 80s synth to have really positive, optimistic vibes, so it will definitely stand out from its competition, although will probably fall around middle of the pack in the finals (I am also confident it will qualify). Probably one of the few entries that gets me up and dancing

Vienna calling 🤓👐🏻🇦🇹🇪🇺 I'm quite happy with the title. Great analysis as always. Often times you are jusr perfectly able to analyze and articulate what less knowledgeable people may feel but can't express. What you said about why it's not dated, how the chords are repetitive, yet the track still holds up and why it is a bit mistirous majes total sense when you hear it from somone who knows what she is talking about. 👐🏻👐🏻👐🏻

I am amazed at the quality of the comments on each and every one of your videos! Keep it up! People like you should be in the national juries in Eurovision :)

it sounds like a Victorious kind of song... very teenagery :P
@Doivid2972 жыл бұрын
This grew on me A LOT - revival 80s is a hit and miss for me, and the louder and more "banging" the song, the less I can usually take it. But this stands out in a very positive way, and it gets better with every listen. Hopefully they don't pull a Darude and remain stagnant on stage (even though this song is miles better).

I think it's a rather good song really catchy

Dude, the part when they clap, they are going to wake up whole Turin stage up, just like Mahmood did in 2019 with Saldi.

Qualify is close to 100 percent regardless of staging and performance. How are all raters so blind to good popsongs that they can't see gems between all these boring balads
@freemangriffin49532 жыл бұрын
The intro is a bit screechy and this is an o.k. techno-pop song but it doesn't have any meaning, the lyrics aren't special. 4 out of 10 from me. I absolutely loved "Amen" from last year, it was in my personal top ten for 2021.
@kennet78372 жыл бұрын
It's catchy, but it feels overproduced and that bothers me. Sounds like a challenging song to sing live. If she doesn't nail it, Austria will probably not qualify. As far as EDM goes, Norway and Czech Republic is much better executed.
@jet6872 жыл бұрын
The dub-dub- clap towards the end kinda made it feel crammed. It felt really short and the rest it provided wasn't quite enough. Still a good entry considering the other entries this year. The pre-chorous was really good!
@ThePeaceAround2 жыл бұрын
Yeh the dub dub clap is probably the weakest moment of the song, as it slows down the energy too far into the song. Pre chorus is awesome!! 🎵

90' Eurodance song which I agree it doesn't sound dated. It reminds me of Eiffel 65

Lum!x's mentor is Gabry Ponte, the DJ from Eiffel 65. He also co-wrote this track.

@@midnightii8470 ok...that explains it. The base sound is very similar to their old songs. The rest is different, definitely a more modern style. Gabry Ponte is from Turin btw...maybe we'll see him as well

I am not all that crazy about it either. My taste and televoters taste aren't the same though!
@EmoBearRights2 жыл бұрын
@@freemangriffin4953 Yeah I'm not under the illusion mine are either. Although I have mostly liked the televote winners the past few years - I don't even mind Running Scared that much. I hate Popular and Hold Me though. That said saying that I've watched three contests this century - two were won by my picks, one by a song I thought was pretty good and the one I liked the most that stood a real chance. The times I tuned in to see the winner I liked it. Sooner or later something I think is crap is going to win - you can't remain that lucky forever. This reminds me of the part of the 80s and early 90s I really don't miss at all.
