One of the most important thing to keep Aloe beautiful is the soilmix. Like other succulents, Aloes also requires a special soilmix. Thus, for todays episode of our Let's Plant Series “How to Make an Aloe Soilmix”, we will talk about the suitable soilmix and soil preparation for Aloes. I'll be sharing to you what are the things I consider in preparing my soilmix and how I make my Aloe soilmix.

hi I found this video very informative. I will try to repot my lace aloe with your soil mix ingredients when I can purchase these items. I used the usual CnS soil mix but I noticed that they are closing up their leaves into a ball. they are under indirect light in a shade. would you probably know why this is happening? I will appreciate a reply and looking forward to more videos from you. thank you. 😊😊😊

I live in Southern California - is your soil good for outdoor hybrid aloes - great mix - I am just learning about the hybrid aloes but I want to take good care of them!

I grow my Aloes under a makeshift greenhouse. They are not exposed to rain. If you want to expose them on rain you may want to add more pumice or grit.

You can use matanghito for small pot Aloes, and munggo for larger pot.

Thank you for watching! You can use any soilless soilmix available in your country. Ramgo soilless soilmix is composed mostly of carbonized rice hull, biochar, and composted organic materials.

Sure. Pumice - 5 parts (use two sizes if possible) Perlite - 2 parts Vermiculite - 1 part Cocopeat - 2 parts Soilless medium or Carbonized rice hull - 2 parts

Hello. Thank you for watching! Yes you can use them on Sansevieria since it’s also a succulent and it also requires to have a well draining soilmix. But an ordinary potting mix mixed with some soil additives like perlite or pumice will do also for sansevierias.

Thank you for watching! Yes, you may use vermicast and perlite. Just make sure that you’ll use a clean vermicast and that there’s more perlite than the vermicast in the mix.

Sorry. I didn't notice that I use both parts and cups in the video. It should be parts only. 5 parts pumice 2 parts perlite 1 part vermiculite 2 parts cocopeat 3 parts soilless mix (regular potting mix without soil) If you have specific question feel free to ask.
