I’ve been working outside in SA my whole life too bro, you should invest in a portable canopy, just a little $60 10x10 is all you need for jobs like that and it makes it a thousand times better

Technically everyone installs the PRV after the meter. I install the 25AUB also and in the ground here in north Georgia.

I recommend putting the prv on the house after the shut off to help protect it. It has iron on the body of the valve. Plus it need to be a foot below freezing .

Yeah the PRV needs to be right after the water meter or in the house after the main shut off. Ridiculous how so many people don’t understand how it works lol

TRY THIS! Instead of a shovel get small battery power pressure washer and a small battery wet vac. Blast the ground with pressure washer and suck it up as you go For real....this hole would take less than 1 min. No BS. Its turns into a thin milk shake ...may have to dump a couple times but soooo easy

I live in Hills & Dales (San Antonio) it took me almost two hours chipping rock in this heat. Replaced the PRV and added a ball valve too, had the old twist tipe that i couldn't close. I'm Tired and heading to HD in the morning to replace the boxes, I see you didn't back fill em, is that what you always do? I was going to fill em with pea gravel what do you recomend? Thanks.

Worked in Austin a little but now I mostly am in New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Dripping Springs, Wimberly, etc.

What’s the recommended water pressure ? From the main as well as water heater

Water pressure? Usually between 60-70psi is a good pressure. As long as your above 40psi and below 80psi it’s considered optimal.

Why not use a meter box for prv and ball valve. They're going to get covered with dirt in that valve box.

They usually do well with this set up. I use these boxes because that’s what is stocked on the truck by the company I work for.

@@jroco7107 it’s hard to say. I use to work for A&A Plumbing awhile back and that was a good company as far as quality of work and warranty. They are not cheap though. Other than that I don’t have any high recommendations. What are you needing done?
