What’s The BEST Order To Do The Houses At Halloween Horror Nights 2021??

In this video, we talk about the BEST order to go through the houses at Halloween Horror Nights 2021! We did some homework during the opening weekend of HHN 30 and we have what we think is the BEST game plan for this year’s event. But we went further than that, we have created what we think is the optimal HHN 2021 house order for people both WITH and WITHOUT express passes. Check it out and let us know what you think about these HHN tips & HHN secrets!
Game Plan WITH Express:
Springfield stay & scream, queue up for Welcome to Scarey - don’t use express!
Continue to Puppet Theatre & Wicked Growth without express
Make your way to Hill House & Beetlejuice, burn your express pass on both of these
Get some food & hit up a show! *This is optional!
Make your way through Crypt TV & Seek and Destroy scare zones
Go through the houses in the front as you come to them - Icons, Toothfairy, Texas Chainsaw Massacre & Brides (all with express)
Head to the front of the park & walk back through the 30 years scare zone
Finish with Case Files (with express!) and make your way through Lights, Camera, Hacktion & Gorewood Forest scare zones.
Revisit the first three houses with express & enjoy the rest of your night!
Game Plan WITHOUT Express:
Springfield stay & scream, queue up for Hill House. Go through Beetlejuice second.
After Beetlejuice, head back to Wicked Growth.
Follow that up with Puppet Theatre & Welcome to Scarey.
Optional show & snack before making your way through Crypt TV & Seek and Destroy scare zones
Go through the houses at the front of the park - prioritize the houses you want to see the most!
Go through the scare zones as you come to them & revisit any houses at the end if you have extra time!

Amazing! Guys thank you so much for these outstanding HHN 21 review and videos, we went on Saturday and absolutely NAILED it with all of the 10 houses, 2 shows and even did one ride with a shopping/food break. Thanks for this! We don’t have express pass, but we do have Rush of Fear, so we can go 4 nights while we’re there. First night, definitely starting with Hill House and Beetlejuice, as they are top two to-do’s. If we miss some of the front houses, we may start in other Stay and Scream a different night. Definitely will be making notes from your lists! 12 days🤞

Thank you so much! We would suggest getting there no later than 30 minutes (4:30) if you want to get the most out of your night! If you do the Welcome to Scarey, you can just hang out and have a good time at Duff!

Thanks for the info! Your videos are really helping us plan for our first trip to Universal next month. We have HHN tickets for a Wednesday night and my hope is that the crowds won’t be as bad. We will have daytime tickets to the park and will be taking advantage of stay and scream. Have you experienced HHN on a Wednesday night in the past?

Thank you so much! There are only 4-5 house that open with stay and scream. All of the areas are queueing you for something! We would suggest starting at either Scarey, Hill House, or Beetlejuice and avoiding the Stay and Scream at the front of the park!

We weren't able to get express for yesterday but did get the 10 pm express! Started with scarey, wicked and puppet. We knocked out 7 houses and all 5 scare zones with an hour to spare! 10 is definitely doable with the 10 pm express pass😁

I went the first Saturday. Started at the Case files house and went counter clockwise around the park and got 8 houses done. No stay and scream or express passes and even got a couple rides in.

It'll be my first time for HHN, so I'm debating about getting the express pass. Going on 2 nights sun 9/12 and wed 9/15. But really want to be able to enjoy it. Not sure of the crowd levels for those nights though.

September is usually lighter than October! Also, with two days you should have enough time to get everything done. If you'd like to give yourself a substantially better chance at seeing everything at least twice, we would suggest the express passes. It really just depends on the house, honestly. But we got in some lines where the standby was at least 80 minutes, and we never waited more than 20.

5:54 it depends on the time if its light i would do a show if its dark id hit the scarezones when i went i saved the shows for last because i wanted to get the houses done and this was for 29 and 30 and it worked well to. (again like u guys said it depends if u have express or not)

Is there a lot of classic Universal Monster merch and things? I know they have/had a cafe w/ some exhibits but I don’t know of anything else. We got in the park around 6pm and started in the house Revenge of the Tooth Fairy and then the other house in this order The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scary Ohio, Wicked Growth, Puppet Theater, Haunting of Hill House. Beetlejuice, Case Files, Bride of Frankenstein Lives and HHN Icons. We got through all of houses at 10:45pm without express

We would suggest using our game plan on the first night and then maybe starting with anything you didn't get to on the second night? And then you could head back to your favorites from night one. We hope you have an awesome time on your trip!!

We have a suggested route for non express as well. We are big proponents of Stay and Scream if you have access to the parks for the day as well! Stay and Scream allowed us to get 3 houses done without using express in the first hour. Also, prioritize!

I look at wait times everyday. And I’m gonna say that almost every ride is 15 or lower. I waited 5 minutes for minion mayhem😳😳

Oh during the event the wait times for rides are so low! People are too concerned with the houses, so it’s a great time to ride some of your favorite attractions!

Would you say the experience of some of the houses are different (better or worse) early in the night opposed to later? My thinking is going to some of the houses when it’s still light outside may not be as scary?

So the ambiance of the entire event does get better once it gets dark, but the houses don’t really change much. The houses that are in tents, as opposed to sound stages, do let a little bit of light in until it gets dark, but they’re still awesome!

They let everyone in stay and scream go at the same time. It saves a lot of time because you are in the parks going through houses typically 45 minutes before other guest get into the park!

Honestly in my opinion, trying to do all 10 houses in a single night, is a recipe for disaster! I cannot overstate just how much walking, jogging and standing you will end up doing throughout the night and how much that will take away from your enjoyment of the event. You can't enjoy the houses if your feet are screaming louder than the scare actors! I would recommend doing 3 hhn nights, averaging 5 to 6 houses, one show and a couple rides each night. This works very well as you can basically do the back of the park one night, the front of the park another night and for your last night you can revisit what you enjoyed most. This gives you lots of time to rest, eat, people watch in the scare zones, shop at the tribute store, and really enjoy yourself, instead of mindlessly trudging from house to house in a desperate attempt to see them all.

This is a great plan if you have that many days! We know the pain of trying to do everything in one day, and it can get a little miserable. This is absolutely great advice for people that have the time!

For Halloween Horror Nights they only sell limited express passes. Just like the limited daytime express passes, you can only use express once per house during the event.

We are taking our 9 yr old. She loves scary things. I know it is designed for adults but how do you think it will be on a Wednesday? Hoping it doesn't get to crazy with alcohol.

We've never had an issue with people bothering us, but most people there are on vacation and don't care what day of the week it is. I don't think there will be much of a difference between Wednesday and Saturday as far as alcohol consumption goes.

Is Stay and Scream where you already have tickets to the park and don't exit the park before HHN begins? First time going to HHN and we already have tickets to the park. Just wanting to clarify.

If you purchased them, when you get your tickets printed out, you should be able to print the express passes as well! If you have one of the passes WITH express pass, it will say you have express pass on the ticket!

If you do not have a day time ticket to Universal Studios, then yes you will have to enter the event by exciting studios and then coming back into the parks!

We believe with the Scream Early ticket, you can get into the parks at 3 o'clock. Stay and Scream allows guest to start getting in the queue at 4!

Unfortunately, it does not. The only way to get access to stay and scream is to have daytime access to Universal AND a HHN ticket or to have a scream early ticket and of course your HHN ticket!

The bathroom waits aren’t that bad. Certain ones are before they are in more obvious spots, but the great thing about Universal is that they have many many bathroom options!
