Richard Galvan I was speaking more to people's current monetary condition than their income. If someone has no money in their bank account to give, they can still do good. In fact, offering service can lead them to find new ways to make money and get out of their poor position faster.

I agree when I began tithing I had a poor finiancial mindset, when I began to give something in my heart changed I stopped tithing for a few months and my heart changed back to how it was before thinking about myself. You can give by deeds! Help an elderly and/or disabled person or child. Give someone a ride to the store, cut their grass, visit them, volunteer at a shelter, etc. Advocate for abused children! Does not always have to be money.

I am so grateful to find this video. I kept giving and stayed broke. Now I just started Financial Peace to straighten out my life. I decided to fast and pray so not only did a soul tie get cut. The offering did too. I need to save myself. People do make it seem like its a sin when you stop. The crazy part is I dont have an emergency fund but only for now. I do love giving but its time to save me first. I forgive myself and others too. I will return to give in the future.. The burden was lifted off of me.. Glory to God, Amen

The Bible mentions forgive/forgiveness 90+ times and it’s never used in the context to forgive yourself. Why? Because that is a self focus and the Bible’s context is a selfless focus with God being the center of your life. Accept Gods forgiveness, no need for your own.

This is what I was looking for. I give but I’m in debt. I wondered if I should stop tithing but to me it’s a faith issue. Give God his and have faith He will take care of you. I can pay my bills but I could get out of debt faster. I think I will obey and give Him his money back first. It all belongs to Him anyway. I’m just the steward.

I respectfully disagree. It is possible to give your way out of debt. If you don't have enough to meet your need, then turn it into seed. In 2015 my mother died, I lost my job, I was evicted, I was supporting two older relatives, and I wound up in a motel room for over a year. Life hit me hard from every direction. I never stopped tithing, and when I couldn't afford to pay off an unexpected bill, I would use the money I did have to bless a friend or a relative and God would increase the seed & give me more than enough to pay the bill. God gave me a better paying job, anonymous coworkers who didn't know what I was going through left money on my desk, checks started to arrive in the mail. God even paid off a $950 car repair I couldn't afford within two days. God carried me through 2015 (& He's still carrying me). I understand what Mr. Ramsey is saying. It is a personal choice, but if you tithe and give offering you get out of debt much sooner, and it's a lot of fun watching God blow your mind. You can't out give God. :)

I wonder what other amazing things you are doing that you have adopted from God that were in existence before you were born. Maybe there is something there for you to make your life and humanity even better. If not members of a local church, where can we give the 10%? Are the infomercials that say a $1 a day can feed a family in some third world country legitimate? Can we use our 10% tithe to feed a homeless person or help pay for a struggling single mom's light bill? Does the 10% strictly have to go towards someplace doing work in the name of God?

Tip them too! Tip the maids if you use a hotel whether you have them come in and give you fresh towels or not..it's just a nice gesture and they don't make much either. just saying that servers are definitely not the only ones who need a good tip.

More than anything else, tithing proves to us that God is our source, not our job or our income stream. Too many people get caught up in putting their faith and trust in a job instead of God. Then when they are asked to do something immoral or illegal to keep that job, they do it because they are afraid to lose that job. When you know that God is your source and He will provide, you can stand on His word and know that you'll be OK. If you lose a job through no fault of your own, God will simply make another way for you. That job is not your provider, God is.

Tithing is to teach us that He is God period. We should rely on Him not our money. Thithing is an opportunity to have faith that God is in charge of our lives, including our finances. I would never want to tell God in any way that He is not number 1.

The tithe is an Old Testament principle under the law. We are not under the law. In addition they tithed good not money. They had money too but God didn’t ask for that. Also only men tithed. I’m still able to give but in smaller amounts than most. When someone treats me to dinner, I like to contribute to the tip. I always tip whoever cuts my hair. But I make it clear to people that I cannot afford to go out to eat. I make it clear that if they want me to go out, I’ll probably just have water and contribute to the tip. And of course, my tithe is simply fit into my budget, and if I have to postpone a tithe, I know he’ll understand.

Tithing is a commandment, so I totally disagree with Mr Ramsey, we are saved by grace after we do all we can with our personal lives, the Bible saids that faith without works is death, so paying tithings its a commandment, so as long the other commandments when we don’t obey it’s a way of sinning, as simple as that, the scriptures also say that “ I the lord am bound when you do what I say, but when you do not what I say you have no promise” so we all should obey this great commandment.

Give to a charity. Schools can also use some help with supplies or you can give money to pay off lunches for kids with a negative balance.
@thomaseidson6374
@thomaseidson6374 5 жыл бұрын
At that point you give of your time/financial gains to a charity of your choice or even set aside money as "blessings" for others that you choose personally. Maybe that pregnant waitress you give a HUGE tip; or that single mom at the gas pump you pay for her full tank when she could only put 5 dollars in. People forget that the giving is more for you than it is for the other person. It take what the Bible calls the spirit of Mammon off your heart. It protects you against the love of money and material possessions.
