It is great to see a male T getting an enclosure to fit his size. I have noticed that a lot keepers don’t really bother upgrading the males, it seems that the females are important and the males live in small areas! That is one huge enclosure, well done for making his latter years more comfortable! 🌟🌟🌟

Hi Dave and Mrs Dave, My name is Michelle and I live down under. I have been watching for some time now and really enjoy your shows. Love how you have a hard time with some mums trying to retrieve their egg sacks. I went to the show with you both, I also enjoyed the gathering of supplies, good to show that you dont have to buy every thing. Looking forward to one day having a sling. bye for now, i'll keep on watching.

When he was in the box at the beginning he seemed rather skittish and really surprised me with his fast-moving. But as he went into the enclosure you could really observe him relaxing. And what a beautiful enclosure it is indeed. I believe he'll love it. Nice work with the camera as always... it was a real treat to watch. Thank You!

Yesterday I finally got a young confirmed T. stirmi female. I waited 21 years to get confidence to keep a Theraphosa (back then I dreamed of T. blondi, stirmi was kinda unknown). It`s not about venom, speed, size (I keep many NWs and OWs since 1999). It`s more that I needed to be sure I can maintain the climate in the enclosure and mainly keeping various Chilobrachys species helped me to get into bioactive setups and humidity maintenance. I still can not believe I have her. She is so wonderful. As you say: Love your spider!

Nitpicking first: There's a typo in your video title: "stermi" instead of "stirmi". With that out of the way: Great enclosure. I love that you're not one of the people who sterlilize substrate, cook your moss or bake your wood :-). When I have a new terrarium to set up, I enjoy strolling through the woods with my son, get inspired and collect things for the setup. It's an important, fun and creative part of the whole process, and so far, it seems our spiders do just fine in there.

Woodlice/Rolliy Pollies are good for potting soil and your garden. One very unique feature of these crustaceans is their ability to safely remove heavy metals from soil. For this reason, they are important for cleaning up soil pollutants such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic-- These little guys safely remove metals from the soil. They do this by crystallizing toxins such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic in their guts which then turn into spherical deposits in their midguts.

Dave: "I get my compost from INXS" My brain: "Things went downhill for them ever since Michael died" Also, amazing point about the temperatures. I think the heat and humidity obsession comes from the very precise care often required in the reptile hobby but often we don't pay enough attention in the tarantula hobby to how our spiders live in the wild. I read somewhere that even 'tropical' species where people jack up their temps hugely in captivity spend most of their time in burrows or gaps in trees etc where temps are usually late 60's to mid 70's. Awesome and educational as ever. I will definitely be trying to emulate on of your true bioactive environments when I'm more confident.
