It just annoys me that Nancy had more heat for Cole than for Bartise during the reunion. 😒🙄

When Bartise said he and Raven shared so many connections and she corrected him with “SIMILARITIES” and then he starts agreeing but still didn’t quite get it. That was absolute gold

I personally think Bartise was intentionally trying to cause conflict between his family and Nancy to be honest. When he did it I thought "Wow. He is going to use his family not liking her as a reason to break up". He knew how his family felt about the topic. He knew how Nancy stood. There was nothing to discuss.

I'm so glad you mentioned the weird "money all over the pod floors, nightlife worker shaming" mess that Bartiste did to Raven! It felt so childish and cruel and I found it surprising that no one thought it was worth bringing up! His behavior was strange but so discreet, he got away with alot of rude crap! Saved Nancy a bigger heartbreak for sure!

I don't regret saying this; Nancy was too good for him. After making such shallow comments and how he talked up Raven looks it was a no.

I liked Nancy until she started seriously ignoring the red flags. It just reminded me of myself when I was in an abusive relationship, and it really frustrated me. I still like her, her behavior just hit too close to home for me.

Nancy was asked what she would hope for Bartis going forward & she said self-love. She has so much compassion for HIM but he had none for her

Tbh I thought him bringing up the abortion thing with his family was him trying to sabotage the relationship & to give him a more "valid" reason to say no in the end

You know, he did mention his love would fizzle out in his previous relationships. That stuck with me and it definitely foreshadowed the ending of their relationship.

After seeing Raven, Bartiste starting looking for a way out. He relied on the abortion conversation to find fault in Nancy but as you said he doesn't have a mind of his own because to me he is ok with abortion. If he's ok to have at least one he is not against it. He just has double standards when it comes to the topic. In the wedding scene I was confused when she was telling her family to leave. I thought she was going to continue the relationship after all of that because she definitely fell in love and kept on ignoring his faults. The fact that she was even going to say yes is concerning because he showed her serious red flags. However, I am so happy with how she dealt with him. My favourite part was her taking off that bracelet. He's simply just an immature and vein little boy who has a lot to learn. They need new hosts for the reunion because he definitely got off the hook with almost everything he did.

The fact that after the pool party Bartise started talking about his relationship with Nancy in the past tense while Nancy was LITERALLY sitting NEXT to him. Major red flag 🚩

I feel like Bartise placing the fake money in Raven’s pod was meant to insult her after his ego was hurt from her exercising while he was sharing that “touching” story in the pod; another way of him trying to preserve his fragile ego. Thanks so much for sharing, love your breakdowns 💕💕💕

Please make a video on Raven!! She is such an interesting character. I too thought she was vain at first and even was pretty annoyed with her, but like you said, she just saw through people’s BS and knew what she wanted. Also: Can you do break down how she handled the pool situation with Bartise so gracefully? Such a queen moment!!!

The way he immediately cut Nancy off after his family asked her about what she wanted in life (her time to shine mentioning her accomplishments) just to bring up the abortion subject was wild. Also, while the couples were at the bar when Nancy was confiding in Andrew, you could See the insecurities coming out of Bartise. How he approached them, and the energy in which he chose to say things was a Lot! Meanwhile he spent a Lot of time chatting up Raven at the pool. And tracing her figure every time she was in his vicinity smh. The projection from him was too much for me, and I was shocked that he got away with soo much. I was hoping to see more people pointing this out. Especially at the reunion.

The part that really got me was when Bartise threw a major possessive tantrum over Nancy just chatting with Andrew while he was in his passive aggressive rejection stage with her. Where did that come from? There were red flags leading up to that, but it was when I decided she should walk away.

Omg Nancy’s poop story. I was like “girl, stop talking!” 😂 she was probably just nervous and flustered

I felt like Brennan was the only guy who was genuinely loving his fiancée because when they asked what he loved about Alexa he listed things about her. But the rest of the guys (this season and past too, honestly) the answers are like, “Because she chose me. Because she makes me feel better. Because I feel good about myself when she praises me.” Very self focused answers, looking for their ego boost more than seeing their fiancées for who they are.

I actually thought it was weird when Bartiste was talking about them sleeping together on the honeymoon, and he just kept bragging about it like a high school kid. Its one thing admitting they had sex, but the way he just kept going on and on, and bragging like a kid, like he was seeking some level of validation like me and others guys did in our teenage/young adult years. It really showed me how immature he was to talk about your fiancé in that manner, as if sleeping with someone is still some type of accomplishment.

I’m still laughing at the fact that he kept on insinuating that he was Latino, like when he talked about the tattoo of a Spanish quote. He wasn’t expecting Nancy to be Latina. But then you meet his parents, and they are both White & Black Americans 💀

Sk & Raven!!!! & please talk about the cheating scandal. It’s so crazy how Sk turned out to be the villain in this situation.

Thank you for defending Nancy because she gets a lot of hate for falling in love, and she wasn't sure in the end until Bartise bought jewlery and said to her: let's do it! When Bartise said no, that was the end for her with him, so she was not dumb just had hope.

i’m surprised not too many people have been discussing the way that bartise gaslit nancy when he wasn’t feeling physically attracted to her. he was not showing affection because he was having doubts about the physical connection and when she brought this up to him he told her that she was needy when in reality it was just his own doubts about the physical connection. i also feel that he took it to such great lengths by telling her that her values on topics like abortion was why he wasn’t physically attracted to her when this physical attraction issue started much earlier on (when he showed his friends nancy and saw raven for the first time. the relationship was looking like the groundwork for covert narcissistic abuse.

Bartise really got off easy in the reunion! Also, (to answer your question from the beginning) Jarrette sort of half-proposed to Mallory, which she turned down. But besides that, I don't think there was a full proposal that had been turned down yet.

My son walked in during the scene with Bartise’s weird dollar bill move, and he was like, “What a douche move. I don’t like that, guy Mom.” And at that time, I was like, “Up until this moment, I have totally been on this guy’s side and I have been shipping him and this other girl, Nancy, hardcore. But, I agree, I think he really missed the mark with this dollar bill thing. I think he’s being petty, and I think it’s mean, and he’s trying to play it off as a joke.” And I stand by that. Especially after watching the rest of the season.

I sat here for 10 mins waiting, thinking wth is going on. Until I realized “premieres in 2 hours” means it’ll premiere in 2 hours lol

His physical “type” was literally his sister! When his sister showed up to his suit fitting I was so shocked at how similar she looked to Raven, it was odd. Him being weird about his fiancé not being “hot enough” and not being attracted to her was so odd to me because she is GORGEOUS and so emotionally mature💜 I hope she find the perfect guy for her. Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder🤷🏽‍♀️

I am surprised that Stephanie did not talk about the scene where Nancy is talking about her real estate investments. That scene was so weird to me because it felt like Nancy trying to convince Bartise with money. She was like everything I have would be half yours. I thought she was very much pleading with him a lot throughout the show to stay with her.

Bartese wasn’t ready at all. Nancy can look back with gratitude that it didn’t worked out. She’s definitely mature.

I was hoping you would mention that he purposely blindsided her with the shot that said “let’s do the damn thing” like 20 minutes before the ceremony. He really gave her hope to tear it down

Nancy stated in a TikTok live that she did confront Bartise at the reunion but it was cut from the final edit unfortunately.

When Bartise got Nancy a permanent bracelet and then said no, I was like: waaaat? Now, I understand, why Nancy said that he was giving her mixed signals and said that they will end up together.

literally when he brought up that hypothetical abortion to his family had me here thinking "wow this man is hella immature and inappropriate speaking on what her views were on something that would be so personal to her... it's her uterus,.. her body .. her choice .. period .. why is this a family discussion? .. ew bartise,... just ew. "

I'm also really happy that you addressed the money on the floor thing because no one else ever does. I definitely did not think that it was an acceptable joke. The thing that I wonder about with that situation was if he was trying to anger Raven enough to make her upset with him and initiate the breakup herself. I say that because I think that Bartise seemed to have the tendency to avoid the confrontations ways that would make himself look less bad. For example, I think that bringing up the abortion conversation in front of his family was a way to sabotage the relationship with Nancy because he already knew that it would make his family not accept her. So later, when he did break up with her, his family would say "well she wasn't right for you" rather than "why did you leave her? She was amazing". I think that with the Raven thing, since she made it clear that this was a very vulnerable thing for her, if she did get upset, he could say "well she broke up with me" or "well, she couldn't take a joke" rather than be like "I broke up with her". I think he's trying to avoid real accountability.

I would really like to see a video about the success of Alexa and Brandon's relationship - now we've enjoyed listening to the ones that did break up or are a bit iffy , I am curious about how/why some relationships do seem to work so well🙂

Something that I found really interesting with Bartise and Raven in the pods is that Bartise started the conversation about breaking things off, but Raven finished it by being like "yep totally agree, we are not a good fit." and it seemed like once she did that, Bartise spent a good portion of the show outside of the pods trying to change her mind? Idk if other people felt that way, but he seemed like he wanted to get her to go back on her saying she wasn't feeling it with him and it was SO weird

Great analysis 👏 I think Nancy was was willing to do and accept everything just to prove to herself that she could be with a man as handsome (not that I find him that way) as Bartise. It was very disappointing to see her position towards him at the reunion.

Bartise put Nancy on the spot with his family in order to have an excuse to screen her out. After he saw Raven, even though Nancy is gorgeous and Raven was NOT interested, he really didn't want Nancy anymore. Nancy was too much of a woman for him and I hope she finds a strong, intelligent, emotionally mature man that is worthy of what she has to offer.

Great breakdown, doc! Loved hearing your insights. As a viewer of the show, the sole difference I saw between Bartise, Shake, and Andrew is that Bartise knew how to hide his con. He manipulated Nancy into thinking he was a sure thing so that HE could’ve been the one to tell her no. That was what that the whole “we’ve got this” text nonsense the morning of their wedding was all about. And sadly, Nancy said yes to him when she was asked first. And the more she talks about how much she still loves/ wants/ misses him, the more inflated his fragile ego becomes. That man isn’t a fraction of Nancy’s worth. I hope she finds a great man worthy of her awesomeness someday

I wish you had talked about the fact that almost constantly Bartise was speaking negatively about Nancy to others and TO Nancy. It was reminiscent of Shake- but Bartise had the audacity to say these disparaging things TO Nancy. When Matt was complaining about Colleen going out, Bartise tells him that he WISHES he was attracted to his fiancé the way Matt was attracted to Colleen. I wish the reunion had asked her about it because that stood out to me as particularly cruel given how close to the end of the experiment they were. I was also gobsmacked to witness the conversation where he fawns over Raven and calls her a smoke show. Nancy’s reaction to that conversation- deer in headlights, nodding stiffly was mind-boggling. It’s bizarre that she continued to pursue him when he very clearly did not like her and want to be with her. He also began to withhold physical affection and be distant with her- all while she chased after him eagerly. It was an incredibly odd dynamic to witness because it truly felt like Nancy didn’t have the self-esteem to stand up for herself.

I 100% love reviews that you do!! Your insight is amazing when I notice certain scenes especially with the abortion topic I was cringing the entire time... I mean his family seemed to only be in the house for less than 30 minutes before this really intense serious conversation came up without them even getting to know her as a person. I too am glad that he said no and save them both a lot of heartache in the long run although I'm sure it sucks right now.

Tbh I found it so funny when bartise and Nancy first met Bartise said “you better run” meanwhile he was still walking. He thought he was too hot for her from the beginning

I would love to see a Love is Blind US vs Love is Blind Japan video. I felt like LIBJapan participants approached the experiment in a much more thoughtful, honest, vulnerable, mature way as opposed to the US participants. And any insight you could provide into how the participants in the pods could approach their "dating" so that they're more successful outside of the pods.

I loved this breakdown! It really helped solidify some thoughts that I had while watching the season, but didn't have the right words to describe. I agree that Nancy seemed to be super self-aware and was able to pick up on subtleties, but had a huge blind spot when it came to Bartise... I'm glad that they didn't go through with getting married. I would love to hear your thoughts on SK and Raven! Their relationship was quite a bit different from the others and I love that they got back together again after the show ended!

I realllllly appreciate these videos! I love seeing a therapists point of view for shows like these! When it comes to dating/"reality" shows, it seems to be a common trend to react from either common or shared traumas (trauma bond) or someone's conditioning. Regardless, it's also nice to be able to give a name to a pattern of behavior (i.e. Fragile Ego, Enmeshed families, etc). All in all, I love these and can't wait to watch the remaining LiB videos!

I enjoy your breakdowns instead of watching you react to it in real time. This way you give us the full perspective instead of reacting too early to a situation and coming up with stuff on the spot that could otherwise be wrong, especially since many of us (I would assume) have already watched the episodes and know what happens next. I don't even watch love is blind but the way you Analyse the relationships just encapsulates so many nuggets of information and wisdom about relationships in general that it just helps to understand certain concepts, words, dynamics, sometimes deepening the understanding because it's like a real life (or at least as real as portrayed and edited) Examples. It adds a specificity and humanity to people and behavioral posters etc. Anyway. Truly enjoy. Wanted to express by gratitude and compliments for your work! The way Bartise when on and on and on about Raven to Nancy was horrible! And for Nancy to say that she was grateful that he was honest, I mean…..there is a very clear difference between honesty and just blank disrespect. So glad those two didn’t end up together!

I've always found the money on the floor situation being weird in a first place, as a way of breaking up, as well as the abortion scene with his family being involved. I really enjoy your videos, because your observations are highlighting behaviors/patterns that we can notice in real life situation, and it does make us question a lot of the candidates' demeanor on the show. I just hope you would do an overall review of s1 as well! thank you for your work!

Just want to say, I really appreciate your videos because you often have insights I did not think of! It's good to think of these shows from different povs and these videos really help me with that. I also think the people saying that you are being one sided don't really understand where you are coming from. In my eyes, you have been more than fair to everyone in this show, often trying to find explanations and reasons for why a person would act a certain way. If your reviews seem one sided, it is simply because one person in a relationship acted much more questionable than the other and there are obviously more things to say about that.

I love watching these Love Is Blind breakdowns! That displacement explanation makes so much sense now, even if she allegedly confronted him on the reunion and it didn't air. The producers probably cut it because it didn't have that same heat that she served Cole. I really wish you'd watch Love Is Blind: Japan and do breakdowns. The cast is much more mature and the culture difference is honestly amazing, but it also has some poorly matched people trying to make it to the altar that cause drama.
