That album was what I was experiencing exactly when it came out, and this song shows exactly what I thought and how I felt at that time. Like right on point, I was crying in the backseat, I just wanted this man to love me, dance with me, I was so depressed that I didn't care if someone was a killer. Like I can't describe how accurate this song was for me at the time.

I fell in love with this song a couple of years ago when I was in a very unhealthy relationship. At the time, it was incredibly validating and comforting. I haven't really stopped and sat with the lyrics for a long time, since things you heavily consume just become part of you in a way, and because the melody and vocals are so beautiful. However, watching this reaction video made me realize that like Mere, I no longer identify with it, and it was somewhat comforting to realize that. I still enjoy it immensely, but from a different vantage point

I remember after the first time hearing this song I just sat in awe with tears streaming down my face. I was holding it the first part of the song, but when the strings come in the second verse… and then those blurry electric guitar riffs just broke me.

The video she made for this is nothing like the song. There's a still from it in your header. She's out with the girls having a laugh driving around in her truck. It's very light and amusing. And lots of butterflies!

I loved your reaction. This song is just perfect for our current times. One of the themes this song covers is "online dating", which is why lana makes the serial killer analogy. This song has a very simple but lovely way to describe happiness. Truly iconic.

I love this song and can feel every single bit of it. I think you are pretty accurate with it but I think the bigger picture is about not chasing things and staying centred in yourself and just letting other meet you half way. She posted on her insta a while ago the quote “happiness is a butterfly, the more you chase it the more it eludes you” and she could never be more right

No início da música tenho a sensação de que a alegria/felicidade não é algo que é constante, como ela falou, e é algo frágil e “raro” que você tem que agarrar como uma borboleta que é algo super delicado e efêmero.
