I love the fact that you're trying to negotiate with Chase instead of just demoting him. A first child is always a challenge to cats who've been there before, thus deeming themselves number one. Those cats will have to get used to not getting all the attention all the time, but if you include them in the interaction with the new family member, they'll be willing to play along. Cats just need more time than dogs - but then, they'll be fierce in their loyalty.

I do love the softness of Fifi here, bless her heart. She just relents in the end because she knows Chase wants his Mommy just as much as Taj does. The gentle, chilled Fifi is one I really like.

Good one! Had our dog kid for 5 years before the human baby. The baby came into the dog's life, so she was considered from the get-go. She was 11, child 6, when she passed.

Cats need so much attention only on videos. Normally they sleep 15 hours or more, love to play with eich other, spend a lot of time to clean their fur- in privacy. Also half of active time is during night. So they doesn't sleep only 3 or 4 hours during 1 day.

Why am I sad (watching this very touching scene)? Chase wants to reconnect with his mum, remembering those days when he had her for himself for the longest time. Sure he 'loves' Taj as a good big brother should, but sharing is hard. Momma's doing very good job by talking softly to Chase to wait for his turn, not using force at all which in turn can create deep resentments from Chase. At the same time she's teaching Taj not to fuss too much and learn to share momma's love early on in life. Interesting dynamics. Chase's cries though, shots to my heart. He could've used his claws to attack Taj or momma but he hadn't. He's a smart boy

A human child is first above everybody and animals when you become a parent. I love they haven't pushed their 3 cats aside, but there needs to be clear boundaries when Taj is in her arms, or Kareem's, the cats can't sit on them.
