​@@kennetha.4253 Alright, i did some experimenting, loaded 20 worlds with the bonus chest and not a single one of them generated below surface. I'm pretty sure that is due to the fact that Minecraft generates the bonus chest on the highest possible generatable block (i.e. not air, leaves, etc.). This is a screenshot I took a few months ago on the demo world seed showcasing this exact feature; I can't send the link because it would get caught in the spam filter but the imgur code is zr6qBm4 Even if you were somehow able to bypass the surface check and get the chest down there (assuming it generates on one of the vacant stone blocks) you would still have to break it and do something with it before your inventory burns in lava. You have a 3-second invulnerability phase after dying/relogging, plus .5s for every damage tick. Considering it takes 6 damage ticks to wipe your health it takes 5.5s to burn in total. It takes 3.75s to break it with your hand, and according to the wiki it takes an additional half-second to pickup the items. You would somehow have to be able to get rid of all your items without burning them within 1.25s, or at least the pickaxe, and I'm not all too sure if you can realistically do that with human reflexes.

@@dandyspacedandy does the term "hardlock" refer to what you're trying to explain here? If I recall, softlock is used when you need to reopen the game to fix the lock. Hardlocking, to the best of my memory, is used for when you get permanently stuck, forcing you to completely reset the game and your progress to fix. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I had to do that too on this bedrock realm my friends and i were on, we ended up making a like 4000 block or so ice bridge in like 2 days to get far enough away that one definitely would’ve spawned. was surprisingly fun

I had a ravine cut through a very small stronghold and only 1 room existed, just a simple staircase. That stronghold was right next to my house too.

It doesn’t really require cheats. The allow cheats option maybe off, it is just a change in the respawn radius which will allow you to spawn outside the lava pool. You can still play that world in Vanilla Survival without cheats.

You can make a change in the game rules before creating the world while still having cheats off
