A friend of mine wanted the sentence "There is a light that never goes out" on his grave, so it's always bittersweet for me to listen to this song. I think it would be bittersweet also knowing that someone wanted it for the one who wrote this song... just a beautiful song or more? Heaven knows.

One of my fave songs of all time. One of the greatest covers I've ever seen. Whilst people walk by, live their lives, smiling and children frolic. No one has an idea. Nobody knows nothin'.

I think I revisit this cover as often as I do the original. Something about the spareness of the performance really converys the urgency and emotion of the lyrics to me. And yeah, what a great voice.

I feel the complete opposite there are many way better covers on KZfaq in my opinion. Maybe I’m not used to his unique voice and so used to Morrissey’s voice. I really don’t think his voice is anything special tbh ! What makes this cover resonate so much with you? Also the fact no one is stopping to listen and a crown isn’t forming really shows why this is not a great cover! Don’t get me wrong it’s definitely solid but nothing special like you think! Anyways have a good day

He does have a good singing voice and the spare accompaniment is appropriate and fits. As to lack of passersby stopping, i don't think that reflects on the quality of this busker. Even Jesus Christ would have a hard time on the street getting anyone to pause. People are in a hurry to get somewhere, get food somewhere, compare this offering to their favorite heavy metal band, and so on and so on. Dead ears.

I really really like this, superb and different interpretation of a great song. Puts me in mind of Jeff Buckley, especially the guitar playing, and echo driven guitar sound. What a combo, Morrissey, Marr and Buckley! Well done.

This is amazing. People wouldn't walk by if you only added the short arpeggio from the originlal version. It's the most beautiful piece of music ever written and adds immensely to the emotional weight of the "And in the dark [...]"- part and, as an outro, to the whole song. Such A Little Thing Makes Such A Difference.
