As a support main, I just kinda like to help my team mates out more. It feels great to get a clutch heal/shield/body block and save your adc or mid lane. And playing support, as long as your team isn't completely oblivious, controlling objectives becomes easy. I think overall, supporting itself isn't "hard" (aside from when you're dealing with toxic entitled adcs). But you can drastically tell the difference between someone who gets autofilled, and someone who mains support. Supports, though lacking in damage, win the game in other ways.

Trying to get into support rn on an alt account (D2 Kha’Zix jg main). So far I’ve kind of gravitated to Pyke cuz…well it’s the closest thing to Kha’Zix, but I‘ve been trying to get into Nami to play with my Lucian otp friend. I’ve found that it’s really satisfying to set your team up, regardless of the fact that you don’t get any of the glory, it’s fun to stun someone and then watch the Lucian I helped get fed delete them.

@@neveahphillips5610 you could check out Leona as well, my personal favourite. Although she doesn't have that broken Lucian synergy that Nami has, she can all-in so well (and survive) and bullying people with E-Q chains feels very satisfying. She's also quite forgiving because of how tanky she is.

I had a grandmaster coach me the way you did , but he was right behind me at a gaming cafe and I was with a friend , we were golds and just because of the confidence he gave us and helping with some macro we were SMURFING in high play, he was screaming in my ear to do stuff but it’s because I was not sure if I should or shouldn’t. This coaching works man and I felt good the next day playing confident and winning 15 in a row lol. Love this hard love coaching, after he said we have really good everything just not enough confidence and lacking macro late game

A lot of times people respond to the hard coaching better than the hand holding style. Sometimes you just need that little push to make you WANT to show what you are capable of that make you really shine versus someone telling you that you are capable of something you just aren't showing.

I love the "Why do you play support" style question, I wish I was asked this because I have a zero hesitation answer. When all the cogs on the team are working as they should be, your supports are the ones that have the game changer team fighting tools. It is so satisfying to make or break entire fights with something like a Thresh hook, Nami wave, Leona ultimate, ect. You are often the most under-valued person on the team sure, but it is one of the most rewarding positions when you play up to your potential. I've played for a long time, and as more people were slowly given more wards over time, I think it has largely been forgotten how important not only where your wards are placed - but when and how. Placing that "victory ward" near blue buff/gromp for example after you win a trade bottom, or making sure you have a good idea when their jungle is rotating your way... is just often overlooked because it's pieces of information that everyone obtains - but from one persons effort. It's often not your job to carry, but to make sure everyone else can succeed in their tasks. I never intended on specifically playing support, but I always go back to it. I started there by just always playing fill (back before you were always filled jungle..) I've been training other roles all year, not really getting that great at any of them. If you told me I had to pick one and stay with it, id probably still go back to it. Roaming is probably the biggest lesson I have learned as a support by playing other roles, because now I understand how big it can be for your jungle to help at scuttle or your mid to burn their flash.
@goblinyanutz
@goblinyanutz 2 жыл бұрын
Fr. I used to main jungle before support so I worked heavily on my macro decision making. I play support so I can feed our late-game carry early and make them relevant. I know where people SHOULD be. I will ping everything and focus on the macro decision making on the team that keeps us in the game, that way my team can focus more on the micro play that will win us the game.

I've noticed a lot of people don't really seem to care about where they place their wards within bushes. Like the tri brush by blue behind tower. People never ward the tip so you can see around the corner to the blast plant. Like they don't understand how the vision ring works.

I think details like this don't matter at all, at least for diamond or below players. I'm plat and still have a ton of basics to work on, like not missing cs, champion mechanics, taking the right fights, knowing where to be on the map, and even remembering to put down wards at all. When I think about what I want to focus on improving before the game it's not some ward rings, it's simply things like hey try to focus on getting better cs

@@likenot3073 I agree, maybe only for support players but still, most of players below Diamond are practicing so much things to actually care every single detail on map tbh. I'm considering the coaching for 1 or 2 sessions... your videos are absolutely blowing my mind. All other "How to climb" type videos I watched are just video essays talking about the basics of the game. Pinging is highly underrated, at least for me it used to be. It's so easy to convey information and decide on a game plan just through a few pings, I'd usually not notice that but once I mute all pings I feel so lost in the game like I have no idea what my team is up to and have to constantly watch over every objective on the map and every champion and what's going on. I think it'd most important when you're deciding if you're gonna take a fight or not, whether it is during a gank or a jungle skirmish. Would be nice to have voice chat for deeper communication like saying if enemy top moves up here it means he has a vision on you, or try to gank me in one minute the wave is bouncing back, or just simple help me shove the lane I really need to go b

I love totally denying the enemy's chance to kill my teammates and really watching them shine when suddenly I give them a massive CD buff that enhances their damage by a shit ton and they just go ham. Sona denying kills and chasing down teams with all her teammates is so badass. A massive 5man stun for Aphelios to use his Infernum R? Fuck yeah, bring on those fireworks! I'm now a support main because I like supporting the carry no matter what lane they come from, I tend to match ADC damage or i'm first or second damage in the team, but silver for life Support is extremely difficult to climb with as you are reasonably reliant on the ADC to take your queues and know how to manage the lane particularly in low ELO

This guy plays Senna with the wrong mindset hearing his reasons for playing support. I'm a Senna one trick, and the reason I chose her and chose support for this season wasn't to reduce my responsibilities; it was so I could do MORE. The way I see Senna was that she is 2 roles woven into one package. When it's time to collect data on the map, you use your E, pop your sweeper lense and drop/clear vision. And then when the team fights start, you post up behind your initiators and do Senna things with your Q and W. When the fights starts, you can contribute no matter where you are with her ultimate... I didn't pick Senna support to do less than I would do on my OG role(adc). I picked Senna support so I could do BOTH jobs in game. If you don't pick a champion or role because you believe you can solo win on them, then you shouldn't be playing that champ or role PERIOD.

Any support should do 2 things when choosing their champs. Play Liona, or Nautalis because even if your ADC is having a really bad game, you can still CC the living shit out of the enemy team. Or just play a mage support and become the carry yourself. You cannot trust ADC's below diamond to have the positioning required to play that role effectively in most games.

In his defense, at 4:00+ during the breakdown, that Vayne screwed up. She is out of position not anticipating the engage, and wastes her tumble early as a result instead of saving it in case Varus Qs as she needs to get closer, but then she hits the minion behind her instead of Swain because she was probably using mouse button 1 attack move click. She then takes a poke from Varus who at this point does no damage. Then she doesn't condemn Swain into the wall or aa him either or Varus, she hesitates instead just standing there and eats that Varus Auto. It was still a bad engage by Senna being low health and engaging on Swain while he was full, while Vayne was out of position, and while Varus was right there able to poke Vayne if she approached or Senna, and while she was out of position but that Vayne could have at least hit the Swain and condemned him into the wall or either knocked back Varus and turned on Swain, or condemned Varus into the wall (which would have been better) so he wouldn't have free hits on Senna and kill her. That Vayne should have killed at least one of them or disengaged the Senna. Should could have done both. Varus was going after Senna so she had free hits on him as Swain already disengaged. She didn't condemn him or hit him at all after the heal she instead went after Swain. It was still an overall clusterfuck but the Vayne imho deserves more blame than the support at least once the engage begins. She was less confident then the supp. What amazes me watching some of these videos is that in silver, or gold or even plat I see people like this Vayne being completely braindead. Yet when I used to play some games in bronze or Silver 4 I would get non stop stomped by some super mechanical ADCs that play like they should be on some LCS team, never missing a single minion, knowing their positioning perfectly, punishing me for every single minion I try to get, and of course they would have some Pyke with them that would go 8-0 in 8 minutes murdering everyone as the roamed. Like in my games no one ever played as shitty as what I see in these lower elo up to plat, videos or as braindead as this Vayne unless it's like Iron 4.

Dude was just as bad and does not understand how to capitalize on mistakes and lv 2 advantage. Its not a bad engage, it was easy kill or Flash burned if he does everything right and eats pot slightly earlier. Cancelled auto, late Ignite, late Flash, no ping on Swain. People by default adds their abilities too early so Vayne missed out on the chance to add E first at lv2. If u looked at how the guy played later on, his mechanics in general is terrible even for a Silver hes very slow in everything he does and holds on to abilities super long for no reason. Almost never healing others or himself with Q even with full mana. He has a long way to go to improve.

Why not Berserkers Greaves on Senna? Everything that Neace said, plus Senna doesn't receive the full value of bonus attack speed, since her attack speed ratio is only 40% of what the bonus attack speed is by default. Whereas Jinx for instance receives 100% of the bonus attack speed she gains.
