The hourly pay isn't there for these jobs. Plenty of people but the pay is just so low for what you do.

It’s not widely advertised how to even become a construction worker. College is heavily advertised, but unless you have a family member or friend already in construction, the only thing most people know is “I think you go to trade school?” .

Old Norse And higher prices... Not only that , but it's not guaranteed that they will pay more. They might just move the company, start using more machinery (which is less expensive in the long-term), or just shut down if the cost of higher wages ends up costing them more than they make.

what it is, is that alot of contractors try to pay apprentices insanely low wages so im sure all those types of businesses are alwahs struggling to get new guys. In my opinion in this line of work you should be making 20$ or higher to start if your in the right company, especially in california

For cement mason apprentice it’s $21.77/hour . For carpenter apprentice it’s $29/hour

I don’t think it’s possible to make 6 figures as a construction worker I am one I don’t make no six figures And I’m not smart enough to run my own company So the regular worker working ya no 6 figures isn’t even reachable

Dropped out of high school because of family problems. Joined the cement masons union and made $86k at the age of 18 as an apprentice. I’m 19 now and I look forward to making just a little over $100k this year . A lot of overtime especially summer times and doubles on Saturdays. It’s the only way to go , UNION and start your business on the side for extra income.

A college education is still the better option in the long run. Thy can take away those trades jobs but they can’t ever take ways your knowledge attained.

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately, you have missed the mark in pinpointing the most important part of my message. I'm glad you are happy in your construction job, but there are others who want more than the minimum. I already have two 2400sq ft homes fully paid off in Mexico. Now working on paying off my home in Indiana and also currently working on acquiring legal permission to own a home in Italy. Again thank you for you comment, I wish you the best of luck!!!
