I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inherited portfolio of about $2.5m. I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

True, I mostly just buy and hold stocks, but my portfolio has been mostly in the red for quite awhile now. Unfortunately to be able to make good gains, you’ll need to be consistent and restructure your portfolio frequently.

It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.

There are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’Colleen Rose Mccaffery” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.

Gold makes big moves during crises. Black swan events can not be predicted and a financial crisis of the preeminent economy with the reserve currency can be pushed back a long time. Sure, Peter sees the crisis coming, but predicting when it actually occurs has been difficult. Maybe it will be this year or maybe it will be a geopolitical one that drives gold this year.

The trick is to read the actual report, and NOT the media reporting of the report (it was ALL part time and illegal aliens). Last month it was mostly government jobs....so all 100% useless to the productive economy.

The Fed wont raise rates farther because it would start causing a feedback loop. So much inflation is from Gov. debt/spending that raising rates would increase Gov. spending more than the offset decrease of the consumer.

Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder.

Interest rates are not the only factor. The FED is selling treasuries to it self which is obvious and apparent to governments and large companies with a lot of capital. They are buying gold over T bills that are backed by nothing, not even debt.

I watch the financial stations in the morning laughing it up at how the markets (all of the markets) keep going up. I am starting to think we have seen this movie before , if you look at the stock market, especially the Nasdaq some of the stocks are trading at 80-100 or more PE's. Real estate is ridiculous , I think we are going to see a big bust in many markets.
