I don’t see radicals on the Right. Not anywhere close to the -in our faces radical left, and daily too. The FBI just pulled agents off of incredibly important investigations to stop child sex trafficking and told to go find Conservatives that can be arrested for “Radicalism”, according to the FBI whistleblower that was fired last week even with recent whistleblower laws, and protections. A President’s private residence was just raided and the left is cheering. 100% fact that Trump will not be found to have committed and crimes though we expect him to be charged so that they can drag their assault on the Conservatives out as long as possible. There is no comparable radicalism on the right compared to the NEW LEFT.

A hallmark of liberal thinking is that humans are perfectible. Thomas Sowell calls this the “unconstrained vision.” I call it the quest for liberation (in a literal sense; liberated from all forms of opposition, internal and external). Thus, perhaps the reason that the Left cannot identify their boundary (a “constrained vision”) is that they see themselves as on a path toward perfection. More is always better, closer to perfection. “Too far” would mean that their ultimate goal is incorrect and their “vision” is wrong.

One of the most cited physiologists in the history of man. A man with an astounding career. He’s devoted his life to knowledge and the inner workings of the human mind. And people don’t even want to hear what he has to say? Because sometimes he hurts your feelings? Preposterous. You should be uncomfortable at all times. You should listen to the words you recoil from. Only a trained communist would act hurt or damaged because someone disagrees with you.

9:14 Watch the man on the right, Brandon Van Dyck (it took me 10 minutes to find his name), do something we've probably all experienced from listening to Dr. Peterson when he says something we've never heard before and we immediately know it's exactly right. When Dr. Peterson explains a technical reason the left have trouble drawing boundaries, Brandon turns away, looks up, and his face basically goes, "Not bad." He the lowers his head and begins nodding along to the points Dr. Peterson is making. Before that he was in the same position looking right at Dr. Peterson for at least 3 minutes, maybe longer. I've lost count of how many mini-epiphany moments I've had while listening to Dr. Peterson.

One of the biggest lies in contemporary political discussion is the notion that national socialism and fascism were right-wing. National socialism and fascism were collectivist and revolutionary, and those are left-wing characteristics. Mussolini used to be a revolutionary socialist until during ww1 he decided that somebodies nationality was more important than somebodies class membership. Hitler replaced class warfare with race warfare: different collective, same collectivist ideology. Fascism, communism, and national socialism are closer to each other than to real right-wing movements. The only difference is that they specify their central collective differently: proletariat class for communists, nation for fascists, and race for national socialists. The only reason that fascism and national socialism are called right-wing nowadays is that the communists labeled them as such, to smear their competition in the struggle for which ideology is the true collectivist ideology.

JP often raises the question, 'Where do we draw the line?' From what I gather, he aims to establish that line as "equity." However, I find myself wanting to create a mirror of the right's racial superiority by considering class superiority the left's line, instead. Nowadays, the radical left often praises the lower class without question and even advocates for the demise of the upper classes, both as individuals and as a collective.

People can disagree about a great many things, and still have a functioning society. But when one side begins to believe that they're so right that they can compel others to agree with them, the topic no longer matters. You're wrong.

None of these things you mention are radical right IMO. Radical right has two forms basically - 1st is extreme libertarian anarchism (sovereign citizen bullshit, way off the deep end of personal freedom and completely unregulated capitalism and let the buyer beware and if a product is killing people the market will sort it out by word of mouth not to buy it among the survivors.) 2nd is classic nationalist-racial Fascism, which boils down to a retread of ancient tribalism. Anyone of our tribe must contribute to the success of the tribe first. Our tribe and its members are the people who matter, or who even are "people" at all. Other tribes exist only as threats we need to defeat and to be conquered, raped, enslaved and ultimately exterminated because this is the only way we guarantee the permanent dominance of our tribe.)

Perhaps …… When the humanity of people (psychological integrity) is disregarded in pursuit of ideological equity = lost their way - I am not sure racial discrimination is a clear enough marker - I think it is more to do with the percentage of the population that can pursue their individuality - there is a critical mass where right politics collapses in on its self. Same goes for left - in essence it is the same thing - percentage of people that can experience their essential humanity in all its colour
@SirSpence99
@SirSpence99 Жыл бұрын
Well, there is *also* the problem that the Nazis weren't actually right-wing. They themselves said they were following a third path and not only did their core ideology come directly from Socialism (literally, the argument was that they *wanted* equity but the Jews were stopping it from happening and that if their race was the only race, communism would spontaneously appear) so did Fascism. Mussolini was a card carrying Socialist and said that Fascism was the only way to bring about Socialism because Socialists were too dishonest. In modern day, that is, *after* world war 2, western academics redefined "right wing" to mean "focused on race" and "nationalist" when historically, it had no relation to either. Anyone who thinks the Communists of China *weren't* nationalistic hasn't looked into their beliefs. This, literally, is why Communists get away with "that wasn't real socialism" because they realized they could avoid being associated with bad things by redefining their opponents to be those bad things. That to say, I agree with you sort of. I think, perhaps, the only clear marker is that ideology that rejects the reasonableness of all other ideologies. Given that the modern left does *not* allow one to pursue their own individuality unless it is abnormal, I find that to be a questionable marker for the right. Perhaps a better one for the right would be not allowing people to transcend hierarchies, that is, if you were born a noble, you cannot not *lose* your status as a noble and if you were born a peasant, you can't become a noble. On the right, the inverse of that, the rejection of *all* hierarchies, especially to the point of rejecting meritocracy.
@ArshanArt
@ArshanArt Жыл бұрын
I think the point is the right supposedly champions individuality - and the tendency in extremism is that this reverses and disallows individuality in increasing sections of society. Equity vs individuality - extremism does not hold to main tenet for large majority of people - what is the critical mass when the main tenet does not hold

To put it simply, a right winger might say, the exception proves the rule, a left winger would say the exception breaks the rule. The more left-wing you get, the less exceptions you need before you toss out a rule. To the point that even a single exception out of 15 billion examples is enough to discard the rule. The more right wing you get, the more exceptions you need to justify disregarding the rule. To the point that if only one case out of 15 billion examples follows a rule, the rule is still valid. There are *far* more people on the left-side of that equation than on the right, to the point, that it very well might be the case that there *is* only one person who believes rules apply to everyone even if literally all examples but one disagree with the rule. On the other hand, there are likely millions of people who believe a single counter-example disproves a rule.

likely, valid markers are ideologies that go against nature, especially human nature... just like racial superiority is not a fact of nature... so for the left it could indeed be an ideology that attempts to establish equality of outcomes... but to equate that with a will for equity is not a valid representation in my view... a will for equity in its meaning of « justice, fairness, and impartiality » certainly does not imply the will for equality of outcomes... rather, it seems that the aim there is merely to take the artificial challenges, for instance those which are maintained through traditions of prejudice, out of the way of the individual, so that the necessary challenges that the collectivity is facing can be addressed more efficiently... a will for equity in its meaning of « equality » does not necessarily imply the will to level hierarchies of competence, and enforce equality outcomes... for instance, equality of opportunity can actually help some people, who have skill and disposition for excellence but who find themselves in unfavorable circumstances, to actually emerge and reach the level of excellence they have the ability to reach, and would otherwise possibly never reach... how many women are discouraged of choosing careers in fields traditionally dominated by men precisely because the likelihood of being remunerated adequately and treated fairly is low ? surely some of those women are intelligent, conscientious, and competent, and would have their place among the bests... in a similar manner, equality of starting points, rebalancing the general circumstances individuals are « born into, » is not about trying to uniformize outcomes, but is rather about encouraging the healthy development of communities through improving the chances that all individuals actually reach the levels of excellence they have the ability to reach...

Much as I appreciate Peterson, I have come to the conclusion that the dichotomy between Right and Left is false at the extremes.. When you discard the cosmetic differences - the slogans and symbols - there is almost no difference between the Nazis and the Communists. The implication is that either WW2 was primarily caused by the Left, or we have no adequate definition of “Right”, so what are we talking about? A False Dichotomy is a logical fallacy. The similarities are obvious. Both are run by oligarchies, usually called “parties”. Both justify their oligarchy by promoting conflict between identity-groups. (The evidence that there is some kind of fundamental difference between grouping people by race and doing so by class, religion, sex or “gender” is weak) Both demand complete control by the State Oligarchy of Production, Distribution and Exchange ( the titular names of the “owners” are irrelevant, because the owners will do what they are bloody well told). Both maintain their control by fear and military/police power. Keep in mind that Socialism has an obvious history of racism. Stalin had obvious racist and nationalist policies. The Chinese Communists are currently engaged in race-based discrimination against the Uighers, and what is the BLM movement other than racist?

I never see the left in the comments of his videos trying to argue their side. If these people actually listened to his videos I imagine it might wake some up. They would rather just go on short clips taken out of context and what their peers say. Really shows their lack of intelligence.

But the argument could be said that the radical right makes the exact same predisposition that the radical left does, which is what he is claiming. I am not for the radical right nor left and feel indifferent towards Peterson. I agree and disagree with his arguments. He is however clearly subjective, and I am shocked that the comments are so supportive of his argument. I agree that the gap is the problem, but his argument is flawed. The more you pay attention to Peterson, the more you can dissect his subjective arguments that are arbitrarily bias. I can clearly see how he targets his audience and the same could be said for the left.

There is no radical or far right wing of the conservative movement. The far right comes from another part of the world, in America the far right is what we call the far left. I like Jordan, but on this he is lying and he knows he is, I lost some respect for him on this topic.

Jordan boasts of being a Conservative Christian, who of course badmouths all things Liberal. I am a Canadian, and no matter which party is in office, I am always thankful to live in Canada. I suggest you follow the money. In 2022, Peterson signed a content distribution deal with conservative media company, The Daily Wire. The Daily Wire is an American conservative news website and media company founded in 2015 by political commentator Ben Shapiro and film director Jeremy Boreing. It is a leading publisher on Facebook, and produces podcasts such as The Ben Shapiro Show.
