Yeah. That was the only way broly could kill hulk. Hulk was definitely stronger than broly most of the fight and hulks durability is just off the charts.

@@kalebdickerson268 Strength was there but it still wasn't enough to make broly bleed, keep in mind broly faced off against SSJB gogeta and didn't take any damage, that right there is a perfect example of brolies intense strength. Hulk was an interesting match up here, it was really difficult to tell how things would actually end considering he had insane healing capabilities, persistence and immense strength on his side, Broly went through a time breaking experience with gogeta and still didn't take any proper fatal damage, just a couple of hits thats it. And that would also explain how broly survived against breaking time when head butting hulk. Hell he even beat the living hell out of Goku when goku used all his forms, well not all since he only really used SSJ, SSJG and SSJB, plus SSJB kaioken is logically a non canon thing since it was never shown in the manga and the movie itself is literally the manga so that is the reason as well. In the end broly won due to his pure immense strength, durability to survive time breaking situations and ki, hulk was on a sort of timer, if he kept going he'd eventually deform back into banner , even though he didn't deform in this, he would have eventually since brolies ki while it isn't infinite, it is a lot, broly generates ki from anger, thats the way a C-Type saiyan works, his energy derives from pure anger which hulk caused, so broly was able to keep going while hulk was on a timer when using all his power. Though I actually thought hulk would win this due to the fast healing and his strength but I did forget that DBS broly is insanely strong, probably as strong as lord beerus (and i say probably considering goku said that in the movie but its never really confirmed to be true, that was only goku's assumption, but if it took a SSJB fusion then it would make sense if broly was a strong as beerus)

Power scaling in Dragon Ball is a nightmare and a half. You could easily make an argument for either one to win depending on the version of the characters and how you scale them. Death Battle just reached the conclusion of Broly winning.
