Johnny I swear you should be in House & Gardens magazine. The work you do is what people pray for to have their property looking that good. You remember people work hard to achieve on owning their home and to have the lawn looking that good is fantastic. Heck if I could I would move to Savanna in the area you work of just so you could maintain my yard 😀. Stay hydrated this up coming week it will be a hot 🥵 one. Puff Smoke 💨

I've watched a lot of lawn cutting videos and you my friend have become my favorite. You had me at spraying your hedge trimmer! I've always said if you take care of your tools than your tools will take care of you! I hate it when I watch a video and the person using the tool just throws it on the ground. Great video and great knowledge. Will be watching more. God bless

I have 58 volt echo hedge trimmers and absolutely love them I can get 8 hours out of them on one charge. Of course that's run time and then clean time and then run time and then clean up time but I'm pleased well how long I last. The only thing I don't like about them is the weight. It'll give you a workout on tall wide bushes or you have to really stretch. I used them the other day in about killed me. LOL

What is the difference between pinestraw and mulch? We only use mulch where I am from. Here we pay $60 per yard for mulch and charge $200-$300 per yard which includes delivery, material and labour. The first yard is always $300 and then $250 per yard after that. For 5 or more yards, we charge $300 for the first yard and $200 per yard after that. What is the advantage of pine straw?

I only have one customer I do pine straw for and it is only 17 bales, twice a year. I make a little off it but other than that one customer I don't do it neither. I stopped years ago you don't make money with it You have to go pick it up,load it then unload it, spot it around the beds then spread and clean up plus you have to what I call manicure the straw to make it look good and level some people just toss it down. Good job Johnny

I no longer take on pinestraw jobs. If I can't at least double my money, it's not worth it. However, if it's a full yard cleanup job that requires pinestraw then I'm all for it. The hourly rate for me and my guys is great, and pinestraw will just be additional $ at that point. I hate pinestraw!😡🤬

Don't let clients intimate you, it's not necessarily a job interview, remember.. they called you because they need your service. You didn't call them asking for a job. That's the biggest tip I can give you in almost 20 years of business. #2 under-promise and over perform. Don't say what you don't mean and don't promise what you can't do Things happen (weather, breakdowns, illness etc.

I have never really liked pine straw. It never looks as good as the first day you put it in. After I install it and come back to mow, I always blow the edges first before I trim. If you don’t, you know what happens. I’ve always charged my man hr rate. I always prep and add a pre-emergent as well. I’m thinking of dropping it as a service as well. Maybe only do it for my regulars.

We were in the Business for 31 years and closed shop two years ago because the budget people who cut grass for peanuts made it where the Residential market went dead so we dropped all of or Residential Accounts then focused solely on Commercial mainly The Municipal markets where we had a solid presence then the budgeters figured out how we were doing business. The next thing they started cutting into our market share so that got diluted to a point it wasn’t worth it. Trailer parks were great 25 years ago at $35.00 per yard and you could literally do 30 a day in trailer parks, But True Green stepped in that market and now do then for $5.00 per lot including trimming and cleanup. No money any more period.
