#shorts Food is meant to offer us an emotional connection. Stripping the shame in this is the first step to overcoming patterns that feel unsupportive- especially during times of emotional distress 😮‍💨
Since food only offers temporary support, we’ll want to lean into behaviors that offer more longterm support - current favorites for myself? Music 🎶 and writing ✍🏼
If your struggling with emotional eating, then consider this:
➡️ First, evaluate if your current eating patterns are actually sustaining you (dieting is a super sneaky way for us to FEEL like we’re turning to food during time of distress)
➡️ Work towards building a toolkit of support.
