A monster born from Hell itself has attacked this city non-stop. The people cower, anticipating the return of this kaiju. But, luckily for these terrified townsfolk, an attack on titan is underway. See what we did there? Like AoT… yeah, you probably saw what we did three. Anyway, that attack is being led by a ton of Sonic the Hedgehog characters in massive mechs! Yeah, it’s pretty cool.
You might look at something like Mecha Sonic and think that’s what it’s called, but Tails, Amy Rose, Knuckles the Echidna and the rest don’t have time for that; they refer to their protective armour by their colours. So, watch as Blue, Red, Pink and co. try to protect their city from a huge monster in the first part of There’s Something About Knuckles.

I noticed just how traumatized Cream looks. As a kid living in whatever world this is she's definitely suffering from PTSD. She looks like she's about to break. Probably saw whatever happened to Sonic, and maybe Knuckles eye and arm.

This is unbelievably professional! The story is both well written and captivating. The foreshadowing is incredible. the voice acting is completely believable and I never questioned it once, and the animation is superb. I can tell you guys put hundreds of hours into this. This is an awesome interdisciplinary project. We all appreciate your hard work and many of us have watched this series several times already it was so good. Thank you Mashed!

Some foreshadowing I’ve noticed is that when Amy showed up with the cannons, it’s has both silver and blaze on it, which means that silver and blaze probably had their own machine perhaps it even needed both of them to operate . Which brings me to a theory that whatever incident caused Sonic’s death probably destroyed blaze’s and silver’s vehicle leaving only the cannons useable maybe even killing blaze or at least severely injuring her in the process, due to the fact that she doesn’t make an appearance. This as well gives an explanation to why silver is using red even though he’s inexperienced with it, he had experience with these machines before though he’s used to having a co-pilot, hence is why he makes mistakes

I’m going to guess that Knuckles will discover that his world would be useless to him and then he immediately became a monster just like Amy and Tails, then jump straight into the portal to where SH Tails and Evil Amy went to find the REAL Sonic which is the universe where everyone dies and then taken over by a Yellow beam that turns everything gold and also make the Sonic of that universe evil which probably means that we will have the full complete of the evil version of Team Sonic that completed with Medievil Knuckles

It is my head cannon that since the multiverse is now cannon in sonic prime, the Sonic Multiverse story, the “Something about Amy story and sonic prime all happen simultaneously. I’m also pretty sure that the sonic multiverse story will connect to the Amy storyline.

The moment I saw how brutal he was, and the way he spoke to his team, I already knew knuckles was in the blue mech. It was an awesome video that merged things like attack on Titan, mech genre Sonic together. I would definitely pay to see a series like this.

Honestly, I didn't expect the video to be that good. the plot twist was sensational. I hope that silver will continue to have an important role because he is my favorite character from the sonic universe. But that doesn't even matter. The animation was amazing and the story incredible so far. I hope it will continue as strong until the end. Absolutely gorgeous!

Who's to say sonic is even important in that universe? Remember TSAA Tails was replaced with SH Tails from the start. Who's to say Amy and Tails arent already replaced and thats how they know about sonic?

Man, this Knuckles chapter has everything to be awesome just like Amy's, I found the animation transition interesting, in Amy's chapter the animation style is cute, the scenarios are the classic Sonic stages, very colorful and full of life, and the characters are simple and equally cute, of course, until you reach the end of the first part where it gets darker the colors get more morbid, and especially the parts where Amy freaks out where everything gets more desperate and agonizing,and then we get to the Knuckles chapter where we have Team Sonic but for some reason without Sonic, and they fight with mechs and the animation is heavier, the colors are grayer, the scenarios are quite heavy too, even remembering Attack on Titan, there's not much to say about the characters, this is still the first part, but I'm pretty sure that Knuckles will become the Kratos of life, going crazy and wanting to kill everything that moves MASHED, we wait for the second part PS: My head exploded when Silver got out of the red Mecha, then I saw the blue Mecha and I thought: I guessed, because that personality and way of talking didn't really suit Sonic

What I really like about this, aside from the animation, is how each character feels believable. Knuckles is clearly showing signs of stress and knows the stakes of their jobs. You can't fully blame him for acting the way he does because of the situation they're in with a foe that constantly gets stronger and stronger while he feels they are starting to plateau and it's only a matter of time before people begin losing their lives. It doesn't excuse pushing his team too far past the brink, but it's fully understandable as to why he's making the cutthroat decisions he has to as the new leader of the team. He's battle hardened and doesn't want a repeat of what may have happened to Sonic, given that's speculation. Great job creating a nuanced character, Mashed. Bravo.

The Mashed Sonic-verse is honestly amazing. And I like how we have everything from the twisted comedy of the R34 universe, to something like this that is a fascinating and pretty serious alternate universe concept. I've said before that this whole Sonic-verse thing feels like the old days of Newgrounds, fan projects with legit passion behind them.

I think this "Theres something about" Saga might be my favourite Sonic series from this Channel to Date. I never expected it to be so damn good. First batshit crazy Tails Returns and now my man knuckles though probably something Off with him is still a badass Leader of a group of Megazords. Love to see it!

A neat detail about knuckles is how he treated big and cream. despite his extreme harshness he’s still human (or mobian I guess). Can’t wait to see how he gets corrupted by Sonic’s “Best friends”

A universe plagued by monsters of catastrophic proportions featuring a cast of characters constantly berated and mistreated by a boss who’s pressurized by the duty of protecting the city and filling in for the role of his (presumably) dead co-worker. Yeah, this whole thing is an egg that’s just one maniacal fox away from totally cracking open and boiling sunny side-up.

But I Think if he really is that monster, only four people could transform him: Robotnik, Mephiles, Infinite or Black Doom. Maybe even Sonic became that monster on his own free will because of something bad in his past. Maybe he was even betrayed by his friends. Let´s wait to see what´ll happen in part 2

@@zionthedragon8866 As you say and when I look at the design of the beast you could be right too. But how could the fusion ritual looks like? Something like the Fusion-Dance in DBZ? But this would be awesome. I mean the 7 Chaos Emeralds and Super Sonic are a (kind of) refrence to DB (Z). So I have no problem with a fusion between Sonic and Blaze (in Hell). But it must be in a cool SEGA- or SONIC-STYLE.

The fact that this animation gets released alongside other Sonic media like Prime oder Frontiers gives this even more a feeling of an official production. It fits right in there alongside and its story is very interesting so far. Very good work!

I love the double plot twist! I thought Knuckles was piloting red (because duh) then turns out it was Silver! So I think Knuckles is probably gonna be the replacement for Silver then turns out Knuckles is in Blue!

Hmmm very in line with Knuckles' character, though when he became General of the Freedom Fighters, he was well liked and respected. Guessing Sonic's death pushed him over the edge.

Why do I have the ominous feeling that the monster they fought ended the Sonic in that particular steampunk medieval universe upon him probably sacrificing his own life to protect those in the kingdom. At which caused Knuckles to be the next one in line for leading the team against the monstrosity that was shown in the animation.

@@ComicVito that'd actually make a lot of sense. Notice how Knuckles kept bringing up how Amy, Sonic's love interest and Tails, Sonic's best friend, was holding back and that if they were giving it their all they would have killed it.

I like the direction this is going. With Knuckles seemingly in charge replacing Sonic? And his need to protect the city has him taking drastic measures, feeling the need to make everyone into a perfect warrior, and becoming a jerk in the process.

knuckles has a potential to be a good leader, after all, his mech is 2nd best, he has 1 major flaw though, he's perfectionistic, he aims for everyone to be the best for an excuse, in this case protecting the city which is one way pure, but the other extremely toxic. i think the shtick of PERFECT picks of Secret history tails is having one major flaw he finds of use, Amy was extremely obsessive, in other words, amy but her personality being amped up for her stereotype of loving sonic, now this knuckles, being an amped up version of protector of greater cause (from master emerald to whole city now) who thinks he should absolutely never fail or they're toast

1:14 1:23 and 1:33 I just want to say it's an extreme honor that my OC was featured in this episode and I love the guard armor you've given him while sticking to his black and gold design! It's been a dream of mine seeing a character of mine in the form of an animated short and honestly mashed, you have no idea just how grateful I really am for this honor and how much seeing Alpha in this made my day! And I definitely wasn't expecting Silver in the red mech! Maybe Sonic died, and Knuckles took his place? The blue mech has quills & a sword which brings to mind S&TBK, and Knuckles tells Tails to "find a new pilot" for the red mech, which has his spiked gloves & pipes that look like his dreads And Amy (or "Rosie" as this Knuckles calls her) says he's "no Sonic", meaning Sonic was probably the original leader before Knuckles

This seems to take some pieces from Sonic and the Black Knight, hence the specific pilots, and considering the Sonic/King Arthur in that universe...wasn't from that universe, but was still talked about in legends, I think he's just dead/presumed dead

I have a theory that Knuckles became the leader cause beforehand back when Sonic was alive he was able to keep everything managed. In this universe however I think Sonic was killed by Knuckles perhaps by mistake and was left to guard the world which then became shit under his leadership. I think Knuckles is so harsh is because he doesn’t want his teammates to die just like how Sonic did and the excruciating amount of guilt he feels wishing that Sonic would return so none of this could ever happen. I believe this is how Tails will recruit Knuckles to their side maybe when the city gets destroyed.
